โš”๏ธ AMON AMARTH Summon a Continental Onslaught with โ€œTHE ALLFATHER AWAKENSโ€ 2026 UK + EU Headline Tour ๐Ÿ’€

Swedenโ€™s unstoppable Viking metal warlords Amon Amarth are returning in 2026 with a colossal UK + EU headline siegeโ€”one built on fire, steel, and the promise of an entirely new era of brutality.

The Allfather Awakens Tour brings an all-Swedish lineup of devastation, with Orbit Culture and Soilwork joining the charge as the longships push ashore throughout October and November 2026.

A New Age of War Is Coming โš”๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Fresh from conquering festival seas, supporting Slayer across the UK, and leveling the U.S. alongside Pantera, Amon Amarth now prepare to unveil an all-new theatrical stage productionโ€”their most ambitious vision yet.

The band will also deliver an extended headline set, forging the next chapter of Viking metal mythology. The raid begins October 9th in Manchester before tearing across London, Wolverhampton, and then the entire EU with no mercy left behind.

This is not myth. This is not illusion. This is modern metalโ€™s most dominant storytellers calling their armies to war.

Tickets go live
Friday, November 28th at 9am GMT / 10am CET
via AmonAbarth.com/Tour.

A New Single, a New Age, a New Album Incoming ๐ŸŒŠโš”๏ธ

To mark the turning of the tide, Amon Amarth recently fired off their newest single, โ€œWe Rule The Waves,โ€ a triumphant offering to the gods. The songโ€™s video stands as a war banner announcing whatโ€™s next:

A full new album arrives late 2026.

Forged in iron, shaped by salt and storm, and sharpened by decades of mythic storytelling, the coming record promises to be one of the most devastating offerings in their entire saga.

The Legend of Amon Amarth Continues ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Formed in 1992, Amon Amarth have forged their iron legacy with albums like โ€œTwilight of the Thunder Godโ€ and โ€œJomsviking,โ€ merging myth, melody, and mayhem into one of metalโ€™s most recognizable identities. Their worldwide domination, festival headlining might, and explosive live production have crowned them kings of the modern Viking metal era.

From the shores of Valhalla to the stages of the world, Amon Amarth continue to evolve without abandoning the power, heart, and ferocity that built their dynasty.

COGNITIVE Drops “People = Shit” Cover Ahead of US Tour with NILE

Technical death metal architects COGNITIVE have unveiled their outstanding cover of the Slipknot classic, “People = Shit.” The standalone single arrives in advance of the band’s upcoming US tour, supporting death metal legends NILE. The Underground Awaits Tour 2025 is set to begin this Friday, September 12th in Raleigh, North Carolina, and will run through October 11th in Indianapolis, Indiana. Additional support will be provided by Cryptopsy and labelmates, The Last Ten Seconds Of Life.

In a collective statement, COGNITIVE commented on the new release: “We have been hard at work writing our next album and prepping for tour, but decided to spend some time having fun and recorded a cover of ‘People = Shit’ by the almighty Slipknot! We wanted to have fun with something that wasn’t exactly death metal, but still in the extreme realm! The world is an awful place, and humanity doesn’t make it any better, so to us the Slipknot math and song title added up correctly! We hope you enjoy and see you on the road!”

COGNITIVE will be touring in support of their most recent full-length album, Abhorrence, released last spring via Metal Blade Records. The record finds the New Jersey-based quintet at their brutal best. โš”๏ธ BYZANTINE Announce New Album Harbingersโ€”Coming June 13 via Metal Blade Records

Metal veterans return with crushing riffs, dystopian themes, and a lineup forged for war.

West Virginia metal juggernauts BYZANTINE are back with their long-awaited eighth studio album, Harbingers, dropping June 13th via Metal Blade Records. And to kick things off, the band just unleashed their punishing new single โ€œFloating Chrysanthemaโ€โ€”a futuristic tale of AI domination set to one of the heaviest tracks they’ve ever written.

๐ŸŽฅ Watch the video for โ€œFloating Chrysanthemaโ€
๐Ÿ’ฟ Pre-order Harbingers now

Produced by Peter Wichers (Soilwork, Nevermore), Harbingers sees BYZANTINE pushing their sonic and lyrical intensity to new heights. Clocking in at 45 minutes across 9 tracks, the album is a bold evolution from one of the most unsung yet relentless forces of the New Wave Of American Heavy Metal.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œAfter 25 years of riding the struggle bus, we’re ready to show the rock and metal world what we’re truly about,โ€ says frontman Chris โ€œOJโ€ Ojeda.

โ€œFloating Chrysanthemaโ€ hits like a sledgehammerโ€”fueled by Wichersโ€™ sharp production and a post-human narrative where artificial intelligence enslaves humanity. With towering riffs and neck-snapping rhythm, it’s the perfect preview of what’s to come.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ The album cover, designed by Ashley Hoey, features a powerful portrait of Irene of Athens, the first female ruler of the Byzantine Empire, tying directly into the albumโ€™s titleโ€”Harbingers, or โ€œones who usher in great change.โ€

๐Ÿ’ฃ Harbingers Tracklist:

  1. Consequentia
  2. A Place We Cannot Go
  3. Floating Chrysanthema
  4. The Clockmakerโ€™s Intention
  5. Riddance
  6. Harbinger
  7. The Unobtainable Sleep
  8. Kobayashi Maru
  9. Irene

๐Ÿ”ฅ A Legacy Reignited

Discovered by Lamb Of Godโ€™s Chris Adler, BYZANTINE broke onto the scene with 2004โ€™s The Fundamental Component, setting a benchmark for groove-thrash hybrid aggression. Despite breakups, lineup changes, and label shifts, theyโ€™ve remained a cult favorite and metal liferโ€™s bandโ€”releasing genre-defying albums like To Release Is To Resolve and 2017โ€™s The Cicada Tree.

Now, armed with a five-piece lineup (for the first time ever) that includes Tony Rohrboughโ€™s return on guitar, BYZANTINE are ready to dominate. With Harbingers, they aren’t just making a statementโ€”they’re making history.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œIf youโ€™ve slept on BYZANTINE for the past 25 years,โ€ Ojeda warns, โ€œHarbingers will awaken you.โ€

Previously released video: Watch โ€œWar Praiseโ€

๐Ÿฉธ About Necro

With Necro, LIK have created their most intense, punishing, and twistedly cinematic release yet. Drawing from the putrid depths of old-school Swedish death metal ร  la Dismember, Entombed, and At The Gates, this record offers ten blood-soaked tracks that are as groovy as they are gruesome.
Think zombie flick meets Stockholm soundโ€”raw, brutal, and utterly irresistible.

The albumโ€™s cover art was designed by Stockholm tattoo artist Jens Olsson and serves as a visual appetizer for the carnage within.

๐Ÿงช Recorded with Pure Necro Intentions

Neco was tracked live in just three days at Necromorbus Studio (NBS) in Sรถderfors, Sweden, with production wizard Lawrence Mackrory (Meshuggah, Katatonia, Decapitated). ร…kvikโ€™s vocals were laid down separately at Rorysound Studios in Uppsala.
Mackroryโ€™s been behind the board for LIK since their 2015 debut Mass Funeral Evocation, and Necro may just be the bandโ€™s defining moment.

The album also features guest appearances from Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost, Bloodbath), Lawrence Mackrory himself, and Linnea Landstedt.

๐Ÿง  IGORRR Unveils Amen โ€“ New Album Drops September 19 via Metal Blade Records ๐Ÿ’€

French sonic chaos-conductor Gautier Serre, better known as IGORRR, is set to release his fifth full-length album Amen on September 19th via Metal Blade Records. As always, IGORRR defies genre, logic, and expectations, weaving together breakcore, baroque, metal, and absurdism into something that sounds like nothingโ€”and everythingโ€”all at once.
The first single, โ€œADHDโ€, arrives with a video that’s as demented as it is mesmerizing. Directed by Meat Dept, the visual journey is part therapy session, part brain meltdown, with an AI-glitched aesthetic that takes cringe into addictive territory.

๐ŸŽฅ Watch “ADHD”
๐ŸŽง Pre-save/Pre-order Amen

๐ŸŽผ A Darker, Heavier IGORRR

โ€œThis album is darker and more solemn than anything Iโ€™ve done before,โ€ says Serre. โ€œI recorded a real choir in a church, and did deep experimental sound design to create something that truly resonates.โ€
Despite the somber tone, Amen doesnโ€™t skimp on IGORRRโ€™s trademark absurdity. Tracks like โ€œBlastbeat Falafelโ€ and โ€œADHDโ€ serve as sonic palate cleansers, injecting manic energy and unpredictability into the albumโ€™s bleak weight.
โ€œThose wild tracks are necessary,โ€ Gautier explains. โ€œLike a shot of limoncello between courses.โ€

๐Ÿงฌ The Mind Behind the Mayhem

Gautier describes his process as a constant stream of subconscious composition. โ€œMusic happens even in my sleep,โ€ he says. โ€œI create concertos in my dreamsโ€”the challenge is filtering through them to find the ones worth bringing into reality.โ€
On the new video, he adds: โ€œADHD is kind of autobiographical. It starts in silence and ends in chaos, like a brain spinning out of control but somehow still standing.โ€
The videoโ€™s collaborators, Meat Dept, also known for IGORRRโ€™s viral โ€œVery Noise,โ€ blended 3D visuals with AI for a surreal, twisted vibe. โ€œWe leaned into ‘mental cringe’ with aesthetic influences from James Bond to Fantรดmas,โ€ they say.

โš™๏ธ MIDNIGHT Announces Filthy Covers Album โ€œSteel, Rust And Disgustโ€ โ€” Out May 23rd via Metal Blade Records ๐Ÿ’€

Clevelandโ€™s resident high priest of sleaze and grime, MIDNIGHT, is back to make your speakers weep with Steel, Rust And Disgust โ€” a full-length covers album hitting the streets May 23rd on Metal Blade Records.

The one-man wrecking crew Athenar delivers ten raw-as-hell covers alongside two brand-new original tracks, all soaked in the rust-belt rage and dirty swagger thatโ€™s defined MIDNIGHT for over two decades. This time, itโ€™s a love letter to his birthplace and its gritty musical underbelly.

โ€œThe original title was going to be Throw Ups, a nod to Bowieโ€™s Pin Ups,โ€ Athenar jokes. โ€œBut I needed six syllables. I just wanted to rip through songs by bands who shared the same sights, sounds, and sewage of my region of birth. Do yourself a favorโ€”check out the original versionsโ€ฆ if you want to transform into a total fucking slimebag.โ€

๐Ÿฆ  Cattle Decapitation Announces Massive European Summer Tour for 2025 ๐Ÿ’€

Europe, prepare for extinction-level intensity. Cattle Decapitation, the undisputed kings of eco-apocalypse deathgrind, have just announced their triumphant return to European stages for Summer 2025. The tour includes a punishing mix of headlining club shows and high-profile festival appearancesโ€”some long overdue, some completely unhinged.

Frontman Travis Ryan comments:

โ€œItโ€™s been too long since we hit the June fest circuit in Europe. This run finally brings us to fan-demanded fests like Download, Copenhell, and Graspop, plus long-absent stops like Nummirock, Mystic Festival, and Rock Imperium. We canโ€™t wait to see you in the pitโ€”or under it.โ€

This tour marks the continued fallout of their acclaimed album Terrasite, a sonic detonation that cemented their place atop extreme metalโ€™s food chain. Expect songs from that recordโ€”and enough aural violence to make the Earth bleed.

โš”๏ธ HATE Wages โ€œBellum Regiisโ€ Upon the Masses This May via Metal Blade Records ๐Ÿ’€

Polish blackened death metal war machine HATE has just declared their thirteenth full-length record Bellum Regiis will land with full force on May 2nd via Metal Blade Recordsโ€”and itโ€™s coming for blood, bone, and belief systems.

๐ŸŽฅ The first strike? โ€œIphigenia.โ€
Watch it here

With nearly three decades of sonic devastation behind them, HATE isn’t resting on their corpse-pile of accolades. Bellum Regiis (“The War of Kings”) channels a new era of calculated aggressionโ€”icy, atmospheric, and epically brutal. Think tectonic riffs, scarred vocals, orchestral whispers, and drums that donโ€™t just blastโ€”they detonate.

Produced by David Castillo (Candlemass, Carcass, Katatonia), this nine-track juggernaut sees ATF Sinner, Domin, Nar-Sil, and Tiermes dissecting the nature of power, sacrifice, and the scars etched into human history by kings, tyrants, and blind obedience.

๐Ÿ’€ From Iphigenia to Inferi: Themes That Bleed

Lead single โ€œIphigeniaโ€ draws from Greek tragedyโ€”a tale of ritual sacrifice, choice, and fate, drenched in betrayal and divine pressure.

โ€œIs it monstrous to offer your child to the gods?โ€ asks Sinner.
โ€œOr is it divine to willingly die for your people?โ€

This is the kind of existential devastation that HATE thrives in.

Meanwhile, the albumโ€™s title track explores the eternal struggle for powerโ€”its seduction, its cost, and its scars. Female vocals from Eliza Sacharczuk and sweeping orchestration add haunted grandeur, while black metal elements cut through with sharpened precision.

ALLEGAEON Unleashes “The Swarm” Video Ahead of The Ossuary Lens Release + North American Tour Kicks Off Next Week ๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Technical death metal visionaries ALLEGAEON have just dropped their latest single, “The Swarm,” accompanied by a powerful new video, now premiering at Metal Injection. The track is taken from their forthcoming full-length album, The Ossuary Lens, set to be released on April 4th, 2025, via Metal Blade Records.

๐Ÿ”— Watch “The Swarm” Now

Guitarist Greg Burgess shares insight into the trackโ€™s origins:
“This is a piece written by [guitarist] Michael Stancel. The frantic intro riff was actually written on tour in the UK on a boat in Bristol. I remember filming him playing it so we wouldn’t forget how to play it. The show was sold out and ruled, and then all of our gear got rained on because they had us load out so they could have a disco after the show. Shame!”

Stancel adds:
“If I could have set that venue adrift, I would haveโ€”but at least we got a song out of it.”

The Ossuary Lens: ALLEGAEONโ€™s Most Brutal and Technically Dazzling Album Yet ๐Ÿ’€๐ŸŽถ

The Ossuary Lens marks ALLEGAEONโ€™s seventh studio album and the highly anticipated return of original vocalist Ezra Haynes, rejoining the band after nearly a decade. The album explores various perspectives on death, delving into themes both philosophical and visceral.

“Each song is a different topic, but thereโ€™s always a perspective of death tied in,” explains Haynes. “Since the entire album revolves around this theme, we felt that โ€˜Ossuaryโ€™ was a fitting concept, and thus, The Ossuary Lens was born.”

Blending darkwave, industrial, and black metal, GOSTโ€™s sonic world is as eerie as it is electrifying. The Texas-based multi-instrumentalist and producer has been a genre-defying force since the release of “Radio Macabre” (2013) and “Skull” (2013). Prophecy marks a return to the project’s harsher and more aggressive roots, delivering a relentless assault of pounding synth-driven brutality.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Decibel Magazine“Hellish blasts of blackened industrial like ‘Death In Bloom’ and ‘Digital Death’ harken back to the digital demonology of 2018โ€™s ‘Possessor.’ While harshness eclipses hooks, mascara traces remain: ‘Widow Song’ enjoys the silence of humanityโ€™s demise.”

๐Ÿ”ฅ Revolver Magazine“Bewitching black-metal hisses laid over thumping darkwave synths and thwacking industrial drums. A match made in Hell.”

๐Ÿ”ฅ Kerrang!“The world his music inhabits is nocturnal and sinister, bathed in crimson neon; while its electronic beats might point a bony finger in the direction of the dancefloor, the environment it portrays is more ritual than raveโ€ฆ’

THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE Joins Metal Blade Records and Embarks on European Tour with Distant and Enterprise Earth

Metal Blade Records proudly welcomes THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE, the Pennsylvania-based deathcore juggernauts, to its renowned roster. Known for their relentless touring and unyielding sound, the band continues to carve its place among the elite in the deathcore scene.

A Legacy of Crushing Innovation

Formed in 2010, THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE quickly established themselves with their self-released debut album, Know Your Exits, and have since become a staple in the metal community. By 2013, the band had signed with Density Records to release their second album, Invivo [Exvivo], and embarked on tours with heavyweights such as I Declare War, Fit For An Autopsy, Thy Art Is Murder, and Kublai Khan. Their evolution across five more full-lengths earned them Billboard chart placements and critical acclaim worldwide.

Their 2024 release, No Name Graves (via Unique Leader Records), marked a significant milestone in their career. Knotfest described it as โ€œreasserting their position as innovators and leaders in the deathcore genre,โ€ while New Transcendence called it โ€œa cinematic, crushing experience.โ€ No Clean Singing praised its โ€œprimal intensity and potent, primitive nihilism,โ€ likening it to acts like Black Tongue and Humanityโ€™s Last Breath, but with a stripped-down, raw approach.

Excitement for the Future

Speaking on their new partnership with Metal Blade Records, the band shared their enthusiasm:
“We are beyond excited to announce that we have signed with the legendary Metal Blade Records. It is an honor to be on the same roster as such iconic acts past and present. Shout out to Ryan Williams and the rest of the Metal Blade team for giving us the opportunity to riff.”
