A crushing new chapter in extreme metal emerges as Dark Descent Records unveils a devastating split release featuring Lie In Ruins and Strychnos.
A dual assault of darkness and doctrine
Titled “Paralyzing Visions / Theodicy of the Seven Mile Scythe,” this split release brings together two formidable forces in the underground metal sphere, each delivering their own vision of sonic devastation. Lie In Ruins plunge listeners into cavernous, suffocating depths with “Paralyzing Visions,” a track steeped in ritualistic atmosphere and crushing death metal weight.
On the other side, Strychnos unleash “Theodicy of the Seven Mile Scythe,” a feral and unrelenting composition that blends blackened fury with surgical precision. The contrast between the two bands creates a dynamic listening experience—one rooted in shared darkness, yet executed through distinct sonic identities.
Underground intensity, refined and weaponized
This split is more than a collaboration—it’s a statement. Both bands operate at the intersection of brutality and atmosphere, crafting tracks that feel both ancient and immediate. The production remains raw enough to preserve the genre’s primal edge, yet refined enough to deliver maximum impact through modern systems.
Listeners can expect punishing riffs, ominous tonal shifts, and an overarching sense of dread that lingers long after the final note fades. It’s a release designed for those who seek depth in darkness and power in extremity.
A must-hear for extreme metal devotees
With this announcement, Dark Descent Records continues to reinforce its reputation as a powerhouse for uncompromising extreme music. “Paralyzing Visions / Theodicy of the Seven Mile Scythe” stands as a testament to the enduring strength of the underground—where artistry and aggression collide without restraint.

Deep Dive into the Universe of Dark Descent Records
Norway’s symphonic black metal juggernaut Dimmu Borgir return with a thunderous statement, publishing their ferocious new single and music video “Ascent” while unveiling details for their long-awaited studio album Grand Serpent Rising, arriving May 22 via Nuclear Blast Records.
A Darker Evolution Forged in the Studio ⚙️
Reuniting in Gothenburg with renowned producer Fredrik Nordström, the architect behind landmark releases like Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and Death Cult Armageddon, the band channels both legacy and evolution into this new chapter. The result is an album that amplifies their trademark symphonic scale while diving deeper into oppressive atmospheres and sharpened aggression.
Grand Serpent Rising is positioned as one of the band’s most expansive and dynamic records yet—balancing cinematic orchestration with relentless, blackened force.
“Ascent” Strikes with Precision and Power ⚡
The newly released single “Ascent” hits with unrelenting intensity—an icy, violent surge wrapped in haunting beauty. It’s a track that doesn’t just continue the band’s legacy—it reinforces it. Razor-edged riffs, orchestral weight, and punishing rhythm collide into something both primal and calculated.
Frontman Shagrath describes the track as more direct and ferocious than the first single, emphasizing the album’s wide-ranging sonic scope. Guitarist Silenoz expands on the concept, framing “Ascent” as a transformative ascent through fear and consciousness—echoing philosophical undertones inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche.

Nashville’s rising metalcore force CHAMBER return with a relentless and emotionally charged new chapter, delivering their most intense and introspective record to date.
A New Era of Controlled Chaos
CHAMBER have officially unleashed their long-awaited third full-length album, this is goodbye…, out now via Pure Noise Records. Serving as the follow-up to their 2023 breakout A Love To Kill For, the new record expands their sonic identity into darker, more chaotic territory while sharpening their already devastating precision.
Across 12 tracks, the band delivers a punishing fusion of metal and hardcore—each song meticulously constructed yet brimming with raw, unfiltered energy. Recent singles “without a trace,” “violins,” and “angel” offer a glimpse into the album’s volatile core, with “angel” now accompanied by a striking visualizer that amplifies its emotional weight.
Built on Instinct, Not Perfection
Rather than overthinking the process, CHAMBER leaned into spontaneity while crafting this is goodbye…. Recorded with longtime collaborator Randy LeBoeuf, the album captures lightning-in-a-bottle moments born from instinct and chemistry.
The band reflects on the experience:
“this is goodbye… is Chamber at our most open and instinctive. A lot of this record was written on the spot in Randy’s studio, with no time to overthink what we were playing. When we look back, we remember the energy, the laughs, and how naturally everything came together. We just wanted to write parts that would get each other fired up.”
That unfiltered approach bleeds into every second of the record, giving it a sense of urgency that feels both dangerous and alive.
Confronting the Weight of Existence
At its core, this is goodbye… is more than just an album—it’s a confrontation. CHAMBER channel the exhaustion, uncertainty, and emotional toll of modern existence into a body of work that feels brutally honest.
Themes of grief, existential dread, and perseverance collide with their signature “psychotic mosh metal” intensity. Dissonant riffs, unpredictable rhythms, and suffocating atmospheres create a soundscape that mirrors the chaos of the world it reflects.
Despite its ominous title—drawn from the closing track “in revolving doors”—the album doesn’t signal an end. Instead, it captures a pivotal moment of reckoning, pushing forward through the noise rather than surrendering to it.

Hitting the Road
CHAMBER are taking this is goodbye… on the road this spring alongside Malevolence and Guilt Trip, bringing their explosive live presence across North America. From Detroit to Milwaukee, the tour promises unrelenting energy and cathartic release.
A new chapter has begun in the ever-expanding legacy of Dimmu Borgir—and this time, it arrives with thunder, fire, and a serpent coiled around the future of symphonic black metal.
The Return of a Titan ⚙️
After years of silence following 2018’s Eonian, Dimmu Borgir have officially broken their creative dormancy with the announcement of a brand-new record titled Grand Serpent Rising. This marks a monumental return for a band that has long defined the intersection of orchestral grandeur and extreme metal aggression.
The reveal doesn’t come quietly—it strikes with purpose.
Alongside the album announcement, the band has unleashed the first single, giving fans an immediate taste of what’s to come. And make no mistake: this is not a subtle re-entry. This is a statement.
A Sound Forged in Darkness ⚡
The newly released track channels everything that has made Dimmu Borgir a dominant force for decades—layered orchestration, punishing rhythms, and an atmosphere that feels both apocalyptic and cinematic.
There’s a renewed intensity embedded within the sound. While Eonian leaned heavily into symphonic textures, this new material suggests a sharpened edge—where melody and brutality coexist with even greater precision.
It feels deliberate. Focused. Evolved.
The Serpent Rises 🔥
The title Grand Serpent Rising alone evokes myth, power, and transformation—imagery that aligns perfectly with Dimmu Borgir’s long-standing aesthetic of darkness, mysticism, and dominance.
Though full details about the album remain limited, the unveiling of a single alongside the announcement signals something much larger than a one-off release. This is the beginning of a new era.
And if history is any indication, Dimmu Borgir are not interested in revisiting the past—they’re here to redefine their future.
Dimmu Borgir have always occupied a unique space in metal—bridging underground credibility with massive, cinematic appeal. Their influence stretches across black metal, symphonic metal, and beyond.
This return isn’t just about new music. It’s about momentum.
A reactivation of one of metal’s most iconic forces
A signal to the scene that evolution is far from over
A reminder that scale, atmosphere, and aggression can coexist at the highest level
A long silence is about to be shattered as Dimmu Borgir prepares to unveil their first new material in years, signaling a powerful resurgence from one of extreme metal’s most cinematic forces.
A Long-Awaited Awakening ⚙️
For fans of symphonic black metal, the wait has been nothing short of agonizing. Since the release of their 2018 album Eonian, Dimmu Borgir have remained largely quiet on the front of new music. While the band has maintained a presence through performances and orchestral projects, fresh material has been notably absent—until now.
That drought is officially coming to an end.
The band has confirmed that brand-new music is set to drop this week, marking their first release in over half a decade. No long-winded buildup. No cryptic countdowns stretching months. Just a direct strike—sudden, calculated, and unmistakably Dimmu Borgir.
What We Know So Far ⚡
Details surrounding the release are being kept tightly under wraps, adding to the tension and anticipation. What is confirmed is that this new track (or tracks) will represent the band’s first creative output since Eonian, an album that leaned heavily into orchestration, choirs, and grandiose arrangements.
This raises the question: Will Dimmu Borgir continue down the lush, symphonic path… or pivot back toward something darker, colder, and more aggressive?
Given their legacy of evolution—from raw black metal roots to full orchestral dominance—anything is possible.
Legacy of Darkness and Grandeur 🔥
Few bands have managed to bridge the underground and the epic scale of mainstream metal quite like Dimmu Borgir. With a career spanning decades, they’ve become synonymous with:
Cinematic orchestration
Frostbitten atmospheres
Massive, choral-driven compositions
Relentless black metal intensity
Their ability to evolve without losing identity is exactly why this upcoming release carries so much weight.
Why This Matters 💀
This isn’t just another single drop—it’s a reactivation.
Dimmu Borgir stepping back into the arena suggests something bigger could be unfolding. Whether this is a standalone release, a precursor to a full-length album, or the opening move in a larger campaign, one thing is certain:
The machine is turning again.
And when Dimmu Borgir moves, the entire symphonic black metal world pays attention.
KING 810 has officially released their eighth studio album, “K8: RUSTBELT NU METAL 3,” continuing their evolution within the heavy music landscape.
The arrival of a new release marks a significant milestone for the band, carrying a strong emotional weight that reflects both their journey and the experiences behind the music. While difficult to define in a single sentiment, the album represents a culmination of personal expression shaped by the band’s ongoing creative path.
Described as one of their most emotionally driven records to date, “K8: RUSTBELT NU METAL 3” leans heavily into themes rooted in lived experience. The material explores deeply personal territory, offering a raw and introspective perspective that aligns with the current cultural and social climate.
Releases of this magnitude often carry an unspoken intensity, and this one is no exception. The project stands as one of the band’s most emotionally resonant works to date, pushing further into deeply personal territory while maintaining the confrontational and unfiltered energy that defines KING 810’s identity.
A Record Rooted in Reality
“K8: RUSTBELT NU METAL 3” is built on authenticity. Across eight tracks, the album explores themes drawn directly from real-life experiences, giving the record a grounded and visceral edge. The emotional core of the project feels particularly aligned with the current climate—unpredictable, heavy, and deeply human.
Rather than abstract storytelling, the album leans into firsthand perspective, reinforcing the band’s reputation for crafting music that feels immediate and unfiltered. That realism becomes both a strength and a weight, shaping the tone of the entire release.
Physical Editions and Availability
Fans looking to own a piece of the release can purchase physical formats, including:
CD Edition – $10
Glitter Vinyl LP – $25
These editions offer a tangible extension of the album’s aesthetic and sonic identity.
Beyond the Release
The album arrives alongside continued momentum for the band, including the track “Blood of the Covenant” and upcoming live appearances such as Inkcarceration, where audiences can expect to experience the new material in a live setting.
“K8: RUSTBELT NU METAL 3” stands as a defining moment in KING 810’s catalog—an album that doesn’t just present music, but documents a state of being shaped by real events, raw emotion, and the world surrounding it.
Industrial metal pioneers Fear Factory are preparing to unleash a brand-new studio album later this year, and founding guitarist Dino Cazares has begun revealing the first major details about the highly anticipated release.
The upcoming record—expected via Nuclear Blast—will mark a major milestone for the band. It will be the first Fear Factory album featuring vocalist Milo Silvestro and drummer Pete Webber, both of whom have already spent several years touring with the legendary industrial metal act.
A Concept Built Around Humanity and A.I.
According to Cazares, the album will continue Fear Factory’s long-running exploration of the conflict between humanity and technology, a theme that has defined the band’s identity since the 1990s.
This time, the story takes place in a bleak future where humanity exists only in fragments, with artificial intelligence dominating much of the world. While the band remains fascinated by technological evolution, the new material also carries a cautious tone about where that future could lead.
Rather than telling a single continuous story like the band’s classic 1998 concept album Obsolete, the new record will feature individual narrative explanations for each track, giving fans deeper insight into the meaning behind the lyrics, riffs, and themes.
Cazares emphasized that the band wants listeners to understand the intent behind every song, something that often gets lost in the streaming era where liner notes and context rarely accompany digital releases.
A Collaborative Effort From the New Lineup
The writing process behind the album has been a fully collaborative effort. Cazares worked alongside longtime producer Damien Rainaud, while Silvestro contributed a significant portion of the lyrics.
Additional lyrical input also came from bassist Ricky Bonazza, helping shape the album’s overarching narrative and emotional tone.
After touring with Fear Factory for several years, Silvestro has had time to deeply absorb the band’s identity, which Cazares says helped him find his own place within the sound of the group.
A Powerful Closing Chapter
One of the album’s standout moments will be the closing track, written largely by Silvestro himself. The song reportedly carries a cinematic feel similar to “Expiration Date” from the band’s 2015 album Genexus.
Its story imagines a distant future where humanity has disappeared entirely, leaving behind only microscopic remnants of life—raising the possibility that something new could eventually evolve from the ashes of the human race.
Keyboard contributions from longtime collaborator Rhys Fulber will also appear on the track, adding another familiar sonic layer to the band’s evolving sound.
Taking Their Time to Get It Right
Despite fans eagerly asking for new music, Cazares says the band has intentionally taken their time with the album. Expectations are especially high because this will be Fear Factory’s first release without longtime vocalist Burton C. Bell, who departed the band in 2020.
Rather than rushing the process, the band wants to ensure the record stands the test of time.
For Cazares, the goal is simple: deliver an album that lives up to the legacy Fear Factory has built across more than three decades of futuristic, machine-driven metal.
A spontaneous creative spark has evolved into a powerful new metal collaboration set to drop March 12 across all major streaming platforms.
From Concept to Collaboration
What began as an instrumental metal reinterpretation quickly transformed into a full-fledged duet. After Derek Hung crafted a heavy reimagining of a track originally featuring Katseye’s vocals, a bold suggestion to incorporate aggressive female screams led to direct collaboration. The result is an officially recorded and distributed cover that showcases both artists sharing vocal duties in a high-impact performance.
Now finalized and delivered to distribution, the single captures the raw energy that first inspired its creation — fusing precision metal instrumentation with dynamic vocal interplay that balances intensity with attitude.
About Derek Hung
Anaheim-based metal vocalist, guitarist, and producer Derek Hung continues to build momentum as a rising force in modern heavy music. He has appeared in a featured video during Thirty Seconds to Mars’ 2023 Lollapalooza performance and fronts the metal projects Catalust and Luxe Exit. His most recent single surpassed 200,000 streams and serves as the first release from an upcoming collaborative album with Dal Av, expected later this year.
Production & Visual Direction
The track was mixed and mastered by Scottay Siegel, whose credits include Woe Is Me, Jackson Rose, Darknet, and Andy Cizek. His production expertise delivers clarity and impact to the track’s aggressive instrumentation and layered vocals.
The single is supported by custom cover artwork and a Spotify Canvas created in collaboration with visual artist Eliza (so.dsg). Known for her cyber-goth and digital-grunge aesthetic, Eliza’s visuals blend a playful, feminine edge with darker tonal elements aligned with both Derek Hung and Fae Fatale’s artistic identities.
This release stands as a testament to creative chemistry and momentum — transforming a simple idea into a fully realized and sonically explosive collaboration.
Finland’s modern metal force Lost Society are back. Four years after If the Sky Came Down, the band unleash their most ambitious and cinematic record yet, Hell Is A State Of Mind, arriving March 6, 2026 via Nuclear Blast.
🔥 Evolution Becomes Identity
Samy Elbanna (vocals/guitar), Arttu Lesonen (guitar), Mirko Lehtinen (bass), and Tapani Fagerström (drums) have spent years shedding expectations. From thrash beginnings to darker, more expansive territory, Lost Society have evolved with intent. This album marks the moment they stop searching and fully claim their sound.
Inspired by Finland’s fearless metal lineage, the band pushes forward without apology—modern metal that refuses comparison.
The album’s direction crystallized during the creation of “Blood Diamond,” when orchestral strings transformed a simple demo into something massive. That spark led to a record built on dramatic orchestration fused with classic metal spirit.
Tracks like the vulnerable “Is This What You Wanted” and the explosive “Kill the Light” showcase the emotional range, while bold structural twists—what the band jokingly calls “C-sections”—add unexpected intensity to songs like “No Longer Human.”
Lyrically, the album follows a journey from death and destruction toward revelation: Hell was never a place—it was a mindset.
🎚️ Big Sound, No Shortcuts
Recorded at Finnvox Studio B, the production embraces analog grit—real amps, natural drums, no artificial perfection. The scale expands further with a 40-piece Babelsberg Film Orchestra, elevating the record into cinematic territory.
The title track stands as the ultimate statement: theatrical, unpredictable, and fearless.
💀 A Defiant Statement
Hell Is A State Of Mind distills Lost Society into a singular declaration. No trends. No permission. No compromise.
After nearly a decade of silence, Dutch progressive metal innovators Textures have finally returned with Genotype—a powerful, forward-thinking album that proves the band hasn’t lost a single ounce of intensity, ambition, or emotional depth. Released today, the album arrives alongside a striking new video for the six-minute epic “Measuring the Heavens” and the launch of a massive European tour with Jinjer.
Long anticipated by fans, Genotype is not a sequel to 2016’s Phenotype—it’s a rebirth. Written entirely from scratch and self-produced, the album distills everything that defines TEXTURES into eight meticulously crafted tracks. Mixed by Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus), Genotype balances surgical technicality with emotional weight, pushing heaviness, melody, and atmosphere into new territory 💀
Measuring the Heavens: Tension as a Weapon
The newly released lyric video for “Measuring the Heavens” is a masterclass in restraint and release. Drummer Stef Broks describes the track as a deliberate exercise in tension-building—six minutes of controlled pressure before a final, punishing payoff. It’s a song that challenges patience, expectations, and comfort zones, rewarding listeners willing to go the distance.
Lyrically, Genotype speaks directly to outsiders, introverts, and those navigating unseen inner worlds. It’s an album about authenticity, resilience, and refusing to dilute who you are—music for those who exist just outside the spotlight, but burn just as bright 🔥

Symphonic metal powerhouse Beyond the Black return with a soaring, deeply emotional new single, “Ravens,” the fifth preview from their upcoming studio album Break The Silence — arriving January 9th, 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records.
“Ravens” is a tribute to unity, loyalty, and shared resilience — rising together through darkness like the birds that give the song its name. The single and its accompanying video feature contributions from Beyond the Black fans themselves, embodying the album’s central theme: breaking communication barriers and forging connection in a divided world.
Frontwoman Jennifer Haben describes it perfectly:
“‘Ravens’ is about belonging — about finding light in others when everything feels disconnected. Hearing our fans’ voices on this song made that message real in the most beautiful way.”
The band adds a heartfelt message to their community:
“This song was created with our fans at its heart. Thank you, our RAVENS, for helping us bring it to life.”

The band recently welcomed Lea-Sophie Fischer on violin, further expanding their sonic depth while maintaining their signature sound. With nine studio albums, countless world tours, and a dedicated global fanbase, ELUVEITIE continues to be a powerful and innovative force in modern metal.
Prepare yourselves: Gates to Hell returns to unleash Death Comes to All, their highly anticipated second full-length album. The Louisville-based melodic death metal outfit blurs the lines between death metal, hardcore, and brutal innovation, delivering raw, unrelenting energy. The album will drop on March 21, 2025, via Nuclear Blast Records.
First Single: ‘Next to Bleed’
Next to Bleed, the album’s first single, demonstrates Gates to Hell’s evolution in sound while retaining their signature aggression. Accompanied by a striking music video directed by Errick Easterday, the visuals depict the band performing around a tilting table where a tortured figure bleeds out—a haunting representation of the song’s dark themes.

The rising “Doom Bass” pioneers Antania are set to join industrial metal heavyweights Psyclon Nine on their highly anticipated ‘Devils Work’ Tour across the United States this spring. Known for their groundbreaking fusion of black metal, doom metal, and electronic bass music, Antania continues to captivate audiences with their innovative sound and visceral live performances.
Heralded as the inventors and champions of the “Doom Bass” subgenre, Antania has been active since June 2023, quickly carving a unique niche in the metal and electronic music scenes. Drawing influences from Slayer, Ministry, The Prodigy, Morbid Angel, and Deicide, the band has been likened to “the Slayer of bass music.”
The duo, composed of Dr. Luna (bass and electronics) and Kali Mortem (vocals), forgoes traditional string instruments, creating their sound by wrapping distortion around saw and sub-bass lines using a microbrute synthesizer. Sponsored by KAT Percussion, Dr. Luna delivers intricate polyrhythms over trap beats and blast beats, while Kali Mortem’s blackened, abrasive vocals evoke a haunting intensity.
“This tour is a dream collaboration,” said Dr. Luna, also a high priest at the Temple of Hecate in New York City. “We’re excited to bring our ‘Doom Bass’ sound to Psyclon Nine’s fans and see how the dark aesthetics of both bands resonate.”
Antania’s critically acclaimed debut album, The God Complex (January 2024, The Triad Records), has garnered praise from fans and press alike. Metal Digest called it “a filthy record of utter low-frequency brutality”, highlighting tracks like “Black Glitch Six” and “Trophy.” Their recent single “D3D Solz” further demonstrates their innovative sound, solidifying their place as pioneers of a new metal subgenre.

About Killswitch Engage:
Killswitch Engage revolutionized heavy music when they emerged from the snowy industrial landscapes of Western Massachusetts in 2000. The band pioneered a blend of European guitar heaviness, East Coast hardcore energy, and insightful lyrics, which led to critical acclaim and three Grammy nominations. Their albums, including Alive or Just Breathing (2002), The End of Heartache (2004), As Daylight Dies (2006), and Incarnate (2016), solidified their position as one of the most influential bands in modern heavy music. With a career spanning over two decades, Killswitch Engage continues to tour the world, headlining major festivals and selling out shows globally.
Deep Dive into the Universe of Killswitch Engage :
In the heart of the music scene, there exists a force beyond mere melody and rhythm.
Cultus Black, a name whispered in awe, transcends the ordinary confines of a band. They are a collective, a movement, where fans, collaborators, and artisans unite under a cloak of anonymity, allowing their art to resound with primal, unfiltered truth.
For the enigmatic figures behind Cultus Black, music was not merely a passion but a lifeline amidst the tumultuous currents of adolescence. In the shadows of societal misunderstanding, the likes of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson became beacons of empowerment, guiding this solitary soul towards a destiny woven in sonic rebellion. It was in the electric fervor of Nine Inch Nails and Slipknot concerts that the flames of purpose were ignited, birthing a relentless desire to sculpt music that pierces the soul.
The naming of Cultus Black was not born of lofty deliberation but rather an instinctual resonance with the essence of their existence. Genre labels pale in comparison to the raw authenticity pulsating within their compositions, drawn from the crucible of personal triumphs and tribulations.
In the sanctum of creation, solitude becomes a sacred refuge, where ambient melodies and the whispered verses of poets serve as muses for the bard of Cultus Black. Yet, amidst the solitude, a revelation struck like lightning in the darkness of high school corridors, revealing the transformative power of music to elevate and unite.
Collaboration, a cornerstone of their creed, heralds a new era of artistic symbiosis, where egos dissolve in service to the greater symphony of creation. Despite dalliances with various projects, Cultus Black remains the lodestar guiding their journey through the tempest of creative expression.
Adversity, a crucible of resilience, forged an unshakable belief in the potency of their artistry, propelling them towards greater heights. Through the eyes of their fans, music becomes a vessel for personal metamorphosis, a testament to the indelible impact of their sonic alchemy.
Though mastery eludes their grasp, the echoes of NIN, Deftones, and Slipknot reverberate within their souls, guiding their hand in the creation of sonic tapestries. Yet, it is the ethereal specter of David Bowie that imbues their artistry with an ineffable allure, a beacon of boundless creativity.
With each lyric, Cultus Black invites listeners on a journey of introspection, weaving a tapestry of emotions that transcend the boundaries of comprehension. Despite the rigors of touring life, the communion with their audience remains an irreplaceable source of solace and fulfillment.
In the crucible of their success, Cultus Black remains steadfast in their commitment to uplift their community, offering guidance and support to burgeoning talents. With eyes set on conquest, their long-term ambition knows no bounds, as they prepare to unveil thrilling collaborations and embark on a transformative tour.
To all who seek enlightenment in the shadows of their soundscapes, Cultus Black beckons. Stay attuned to their cryptic communiques through their enigmatic website, Cultus Black, or embark on a digital odyssey through the labyrinth of cyberspace to uncover their clandestine identity.
NOLA thrash and groove pioneers EXHORDER have unveiled their spring 2024 US tour schedule alongside Bay Area thrash legends VIO-LENCE, Virginian extreme metallers DECEASED, and LA death metal outfit MORTAL WOUND. The intense journey commences on April 5th in Cambridge, MA, reaching its zenith on April 13th in Chicago, IL. This upcoming tour follows the band’s recent winter venture with VIO-LENCE in South America.
EXHORDER shared their excitement about the impending tour, stating, “To share a bill with Vio-Lence on two separate tours this coming year is something that we are looking forward to immensely. We will join Deceased and Mortal Wound in the process of getting the evening started! Get off your couches and come support live music—if we can make it, so can you!”

About EXHORDER: Formed in 1986, EXHORDER’s journey has been thrilling yet tumultuous. After a twenty-seven-year hiatus following their final Roadrunner Records release in 1992, EXHORDER re-entered the scene with an album considered by many as a contender for the “Best Comeback Album” category. The band dropped Mourn the Southern Skies in October 2019 through Nuclear Blast Records. Despite lineup changes and the challenges of the 2020-2021 pandemic, EXHORDER has fought back to prepare another album for their iconic discography, set to be unveiled next year.
It’s starting to feel a lot like fuck this: While many of us are dusting off old photos and sentimental items, Swedish melodic death metal virtuosos SOILWORK have unearthed a different kind of trip down memory lane. Today, the band digitally releases ‘Kvicksilver’, a Swedish version of ‘Mercury Shadow’, originally released in 2002 on SOILWORK’s fourth album, Natural Born Chaos.
SOILWORK states: “Here’s an old gem from the vaults! ‘Kvicksilver’ means ‘mercury’ in Swedish, and somehow we decided to make a Swedish version of one of our songs during the recording of the Natural Born Chaos album, back in 2002. We think it turned out pretty damn cool and definitely deserves to be shared with the world at this point. Enjoy ‘Mercury Shadow’ – all sung in Scanian dialect, we give you ‘Kvicksilver’!”
SOILWORK has just announced new European tour dates with IN FLAMES and ARCH ENEMY for autumn 2024. Under the banner of the Rising From The North Tour, the band will tour thirteen countries, starting in the United Kingdom on October 3rd.

SOILWORK’s high-class creative consistency, which they have maintained throughout their career, is the virtue that probably best defines them. Founded at the end of 1995, SOILWORK released their debut album Steelbath Suicide in 1998, garnering a great early response. By 2001, SOILWORK had joined Nuclear Blast, and by 2003 they already had five records under their belt.
Continuing their tradition of high-quality musical output, 2022 saw their twelfth studio album ‘Övergivenheten’, which represents the band in their growth and their current phase of life – marked by a time that probably no one on this planet will forget so quickly.

Arizona death metallers JOB FOR A COWBOY return after a near decade long hiatus with their brand new single and accompanying video for [“The Agony Seeping Storm”](insert video link). The track comes by way of the band’s first new full-length in a decade, set for release in 2024 via Metal Blade Records!
JOB FOR A COWBOY released their Sun Eater full-length in 2014. The record received an overwhelmingly positive response, with [Decibel Magazine](insert Decibel Magazine website link) confessing, “Fuck it, I can admit when I’m wrong… while I was busy pointedly not paying attention to them, these deathcore progenitors actually became a pretty damn good band.” In a 4.5/5 review, [Alternative Press](insert Alternative Press website link) championed, “a full-on progressive death metal band… the songs have progressive sweep and epic power, at times recalling Opeth’s heavier work,” adding, “Sun Eater is one of 2014′s best metal albums, period,” while [Metal Injection](insert Metal Injection website link) hailed an album, “that will be a solid brick in the foundation of the death metal genre with no gimmicks or trends to back it up.”
Ten years later, the band returns with their most volatile work to date. The as-yet-untitled full-length is at once musically multifaceted, unabashedly brutal, and compellingly conceptual. First single, [“The Agony Seeping Storm”](insert video link), is a mathematically mind-blowing hybrid of bludgeoning death metal specializing in unconventional riffing that echoes the resemblance of legendary experimentalists like Cynic, Atheist, and Gorguts. A newly refreshed and reinspired lineup – vocalist Jonny Davy, guitarists Tony Sannicandro and Al Glassman, bassist Nick Schendzielos, and drummer (since 2020) Navene Koperweis – seamlessly pick up the mantle where Sun Eater left off.
Issues Davy, “‘The Agony Seeping Storm’ gives a slice of our upcoming concept record. Regarding the video, the band collaborated extensively with director K. Hunter Lumar (Digital Mile), while our bassist, Nick Schendzielos, co-directed. The concept was inspired by a close friend who embarked on a relentless quest for profound enlightenment through the incessant abuse of hallucinogenic drugs. However, as they delved deeper into their religious-like experimentation they began exhibiting symptoms of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. They came to believe that they could access an alternate, esoteric reality through hallucinogenic intoxication, where they encountered gnostic and biblical figures and imagery. These songs reflect their thoughts, ideas, and experiences.”
Further info on JOB FOR A COWBOY’s new full-length will be revealed in the coming weeks. Stay alert!

While many bands boast about being the next big thing or compare themselves to legendary acts like Led Zeppelin, Anger As Art doesn’t feel the need to do so. Their track record speaks volumes.
Since 2004, Anger As Art has embodied top-tier, old-school thrash metal. The band’s roots are deeply intertwined with the rich history of its members, who hail from influential groups such as Abattoir, EvilDead, Bloodlust, Hirax, Death, Manowar, Raven, Heretic, and Bitch, among others. Their journey has taken them on multiple world tours, sharing stages with iconic bands like Destruction, Overkill, Testament, Death Angel, Exodus, Saxon, Agent Steel, former Maiden vocalists Bayley and DiAnno, Tankard, Onslaught, Katatonia, and more.
Originally meant to be a tribute, Anger As Art’s existence was demanded by fervent fans. With the addition of drummer Rob Alaniz, bassist and vocalist Eric Bryan, and guitarist Albert Gonzales, the band hit the road with unyielding vigor, touring globally. In 2023, Anger As Art reemerges with their seventh and most powerful album to date, “Virtual Sympathy.” This 11-track powerhouse is a testament to doom-laden thrash, characterized by soaring guitars, gut-wrenching vocals, and an exceptional rhythm section. Rather than slowing down, these thrash veterans are only gaining momentum in the worldwide metal scene.
Mark your calendars for September 1st when “Virtual Sympathy” drops on all digital and streaming platforms, as well as CD. A limited vinyl pressing will also be available later in the year.

Deep Dive into the universe of The Zenith Passage:
Hanno Klänhardt, the band’s member, shares his thoughts: “Valhalla Hammering is one of those songs that immediately resonated with us, even though it didn’t make it onto the album last year. It’s not a track you write to create an ‘instant classic,’ but rather to amuse yourself as a songwriter. Though it’s about 7 minutes long, we aimed to include the catchiest, most impactful songs on the last album, which is why it didn’t find its place.
I was already aware that it probably wouldn’t end up on the album as I was writing it. In fact, I had planned to release it some time AFTER we had released ‘Pain Is Forever And This Is The End,’ in order to present something entirely different as our next move. It’s always good to keep things intriguing.
The first two minutes pay homage to our early days when Doom as a genre held significant importance for us. You can hear similar elements in the last song of our debut album titled ‘March Of The Crowes.’ People often noted that slow, ultra-heavy sound suited us well. With ‘Valhalla Hammering,’ we managed to bring the best of both worlds – a slow, heavy groove and a catchy, almost mesmerizing hook. We even threw in a flute solo around the 5-minute mark. This might just be the peak of our songwriting career.
The music video for the song is as mind-bending as the song itself. Inspired by a documentary from Amsterdam-based artist Willehad Eilers, also known as Wayne Horse, creating the visuals went beyond the usual video shoot. To be frank, some aspects of it are better left unexplained. Even if we tried, we couldn’t fully explain it. Enjoy the enigmatic journey.”
Formed in 2012, Mantar has become a prominent force in the realm of extreme metal over the past decade. Garnering love from fans and critics alike, the band made a significant impact with their distinct sound, leading them to secure a spot in the Top 10 of the official German album charts with their 2018 release, ‘The Modern Art Of Setting Ablaze,’ and selling out shows across Europe.
Mantar’s latest full-length album, ‘Pain Is Forever And This Is The End,’ hit the scene through Metal Blade Records on July 15, 2022. The album achieved impressive chart positions in the US and Europe, including reaching #2 on the Official German Album Charts, #43 on the Top 100 Swiss Album Charts, #60 on the Current Hard Music (Billboard USA), and #69 on the Top 75 Austria.
Both stateside and internationally, the album has garnered praise. Decibel Magazine refers to it as a “burning Molotov cocktail of black metal, sludgy hardcore, and classic metal hooks.” Rock Hard notes its ability to balance between “brute destructive fury and dense atmosphere,” and Metal Injection applauds its “thicker grooves, anthemic refrains, head-nodding rhythms, and a greater exploitation of fist-in-the-air-ology school of songwriting.”
Mantar is set to perform at various events including Party.San, Desertfest, and more. Check out their full list of tour dates below.

SABATON announces the release of their second EP, “Heroes Of The Great War,” as part of the Echoes Of The Great War trilogy. This EP focuses on the inspiring stories of courageous heroes from World War I. The band’s tribute to these individuals and their remarkable feats is reflected in the EP’s never-heard-before track, “The First Soldier.”
Albert Severin Roche, the hero of “The First Soldier,” defied the odds and proved his bravery despite initial doubts. A French army recruit standing only 1.58 meters tall, he became known as The First Soldier of France for his heroism and successful missions in World War I.
SABATON’s Pär Sundstrom emphasizes that the EP honors those who pushed beyond their limits in times of conflict, achieving extraordinary things. This EP is a tribute to their bravery and a way to ensure their stories are not forgotten.
The EP trilogy includes:
“Weapons Of The Modern Age” (Released September 30, 2022)
“Heroes Of The Great War” (Now Available)
“Stories From The Western Front” (Upcoming)
These EPs, coupled with the band’s passion for history and heroism, create a unique collection of World War I narratives and metal music. SABATON’s dedication to history and powerful storytelling shines through each release.
The band also announced rescheduled tour dates for their European leg and an extended tour in Sweden in 2023, showcasing their strong presence in the metal community.
Cannibal Corpse Unleashes “Summoned for Sacrifice” Video / Single
Chaos Horrific Full-Length Nears Release Via Metal Blade Records
Legendary death metallers CANNIBAL CORPSE today unleash their latest single and accompanying video for “Summoned For Sacrifice.” The pulverizing new hymn comes by way of the band’s sixteenth studio album, Chaos Horrific, set for release on September 22nd via Metal Blade Records.
Since their 1988 inception, CANNIBAL CORPSE has remained at the forefront of death metal, shaping and defining the genre. In 2021, they raised the bar again with their Violence Unimagined offering. And in celebration of their thirty-fifth anniversary, this year’s monolithic Chaos Horrific full-length, written shortly after the conclusion of the Violence Unimagined sessions, continues the trajectory.
While the band is notorious for technicality and complex songwriting, that doesn’t define where the writing process takes them. With Chaos Horrific, CANNIBAL CORPSE had no master strategy, approaching each track with an open mind, intent on simply composing the best songs possible. Produced again by guitarist Erik Rutan, who has now produced six of the band’s albums, starting with 2006’s Kill, (Chaos Horrific marks Rutan’s second release as a full-fledged member, since officially joining the band in 2020), the record is, without question, a full-on, CANNIBAL-style death metal outing, straight down to the themes, which include zombie warfare, resetting the human race through mass mutilations, and the violent revenge of victims of human trafficking, and its cover art by longtime collaborator Vince Locke.
Of the band’s second single, “Summoned For Sacrifice,” themed around the selection of an individual to be dismembered, drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz elaborates, “One person is randomly selected to die. Thirteen people are randomly selected to kill this person by violently removing pieces of his body until he breathes no more.”
Chaos Horrific will be available on digipak CD, deluxe box set (Dried Blood Marbled vinyl, 24p 12″ booklet, puzzle, pin, poster, and art print – limited to 1500 copies), cassette (limited to 500 copies), digitally, and on vinyl in the multiple variants:
Coinciding with the release of Chaos Horrific, CANNIBAL CORPSE will embark on a month-long North American co-headlining tour with Mayhem. The trek will commence on September 22nd in Nashville, Tennessee and run through October 21st in Louisville, Kentucky. Support will be provided by special guests, Gorguts and Blood Incantation! Tickets are on sale now. See all confirmed dates below.

After completing a highly successful debut American tour earlier this year with August Burns Red and The Devil Wears Prada, Bleed From Within is currently in the midst of a massive summer tour, including headline shows, performances with Heaven Shall Burn, and festival appearances like Brutal Assault (Czech Republic), Summer Breeze (Germany), and Alcatraz (Belgium). This run will be capped by a 13-date tour supporting Trivium across the UK and a visit to the USA for Blue Ridge Rock Fest.
To celebrate this energetic period of live shows, Bleed From Within has released a new single titled ‘The Will To Resist’, taken from their Shrine Deluxe Edition set to release on November 10th, 2023.
Their outstanding latest studio album, Shrine, was released in the summer of 2022, marking the band’s most groundbreaking work to date and firmly establishing Bleed From Within as the most exciting prospect in modern metal.
According to Ali Richardson, “It’s been an amazing year for us since the release of Shrine! As the touring schedule started to fill up, we truly began to appreciate the effect the album was having on our career, so we put this idea in motion of releasing a Deluxe Edition for our fans. The 3 new songs that can be found here were very nearly a part of the initial release. They’re all very different in their composition and many arguments were had while settling on our final tracklisting. ‘The Will To Resist’ takes the lead single here as a band favorite. I’m sure its intensity will resonate with our audience.”
