Entheos Return with Empty on the Inside as “Golden Crown” Sets the Stage for a Bold New Era

Progressive metal innovators Entheos embrace the spirit of ’90s heavy music while pushing their sound further than ever before on their upcoming Metal Blade Records release.

Progressive metal powerhouse Entheos has officially announced the arrival of their long-awaited new studio album, Empty on the Inside, scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, through Metal Blade Records. Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the album’s first single, “Golden Crown,” accompanied by an intense new official music video that offers listeners their first glimpse into the band’s evolving creative direction.

Fronted by vocalist Chaney Crabb and multi-instrumentalist Navene Koperweis, Entheos continues to redefine modern progressive metal by combining technical precision with emotionally driven songwriting. Empty on the Inside promises to be the band’s most ambitious release yet, balancing crushing heaviness with memorable melodies and dynamic hooks inspired by the raw energy of 1990s rock and metal.

A Single Years in the Making

According to Chaney Crabb, “Golden Crown” underwent years of refinement before reaching its final form. While the song’s chorus originated back in 2020, the band continued revisiting and reshaping the composition until it fully captured the vision they had for the album.

Musically, the track pays tribute to many of the band’s favorite ’90s influences, blending eerie synthesizers, soaring choruses, and explosive breakdowns into a modern progressive metal framework. Rather than simply recreating the past, Entheos channels those influences into something distinctly contemporary.

Lyrically, “Golden Crown” explores the destructive nature of relationships that become inseparable from one’s identity. The song examines how emotional burdens can simultaneously empower and imprison a person, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish themselves from the very thing causing their suffering.

Empty on the Inside Track Listing

  1. Hell Is a Part of Me
  2. Empty on the Inside
  3. Hollow
  4. Call My Name
  5. Golden Crown
  6. Undone
  7. Tomblight (feat. Michael Lessard)
  8. Pale Faith
  9. Never Let Me Go
  10. The Earth Will Move

The Most Complete Entheos Album Yet

Empty on the Inside represents the strongest collaborative effort of the band’s career. Joining Crabb and Koperweis are acclaimed guitarists Scott Carstairs (Fallujah) and Michael Stancel (Allegaeon), creating a lineup that combines elite musicianship with a renewed emphasis on songwriting and emotional impact.

The band describes the record as a defining statement, explaining that their primary objective was to recapture the authenticity and visceral performances that made 1990s heavy music so timeless. Instead of relying on overly polished modern production, Entheos focused on preserving the unique personalities of each musician while delivering an album that feels immediate, organic, and powerful.

The album was produced by Mark Lewis, whose production credits include The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, and Fallujah, before being mastered by Justin Sturtz at Sterling Sound. Visual artist Zac Shiffer, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails, Behemoth, and Soundgarden, created the album’s striking cover artwork.

Continuing Momentum on the Road

The album announcement arrives while Entheos is performing on Jinjer’s North American Duél Tour alongside Crystal Lake, marking one of the highest-profile tours of the band’s career.

Following a successful headlining run in 2025 that featured multiple sold-out performances and venue upgrades, Entheos has continued earning praise for its commanding live performances. Critics have highlighted Chaney Crabb’s remarkable vocal versatility, seamlessly transitioning between devastating gutturals, piercing screams, and soaring melodic passages, while the band’s technical precision continues to impress audiences across North America.

The current tour concludes on July 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As anticipation builds toward the October release of Empty on the Inside, “Golden Crown” offers an impressive preview of a band refusing to stand still. By blending technical mastery with stronger melodies and emotionally resonant songwriting, Entheos appears poised to deliver one of the defining progressive metal releases of 2026.

ALLEGAEON Unleashes “The Swarm” Video Ahead of The Ossuary Lens Release + North American Tour Kicks Off Next Week 🎸🔥

Technical death metal visionaries ALLEGAEON have just dropped their latest single, “The Swarm,” accompanied by a powerful new video, now premiering at Metal Injection. The track is taken from their forthcoming full-length album, The Ossuary Lens, set to be released on April 4th, 2025, via Metal Blade Records.

🔗 Watch “The Swarm” Now

Guitarist Greg Burgess shares insight into the track’s origins:
“This is a piece written by [guitarist] Michael Stancel. The frantic intro riff was actually written on tour in the UK on a boat in Bristol. I remember filming him playing it so we wouldn’t forget how to play it. The show was sold out and ruled, and then all of our gear got rained on because they had us load out so they could have a disco after the show. Shame!”

Stancel adds:
“If I could have set that venue adrift, I would have—but at least we got a song out of it.”

The Ossuary Lens: ALLEGAEON’s Most Brutal and Technically Dazzling Album Yet 💀🎶

The Ossuary Lens marks ALLEGAEON’s seventh studio album and the highly anticipated return of original vocalist Ezra Haynes, rejoining the band after nearly a decade. The album explores various perspectives on death, delving into themes both philosophical and visceral.

“Each song is a different topic, but there’s always a perspective of death tied in,” explains Haynes. “Since the entire album revolves around this theme, we felt that ‘Ossuary’ was a fitting concept, and thus, The Ossuary Lens was born.”
