KING 810 Releases “K8: RUSTBELT NU METAL 3,” Marking Their Eighth Full-Length Album

KING 810 has officially released their eighth studio album, “K8: RUSTBELT NU METAL 3,” continuing their evolution within the heavy music landscape.

The arrival of a new release marks a significant milestone for the band, carrying a strong emotional weight that reflects both their journey and the experiences behind the music. While difficult to define in a single sentiment, the album represents a culmination of personal expression shaped by the band’s ongoing creative path.

Described as one of their most emotionally driven records to date, “K8: RUSTBELT NU METAL 3” leans heavily into themes rooted in lived experience. The material explores deeply personal territory, offering a raw and introspective perspective that aligns with the current cultural and social climate.

Releases of this magnitude often carry an unspoken intensity, and this one is no exception. The project stands as one of the band’s most emotionally resonant works to date, pushing further into deeply personal territory while maintaining the confrontational and unfiltered energy that defines KING 810’s identity.

A Record Rooted in Reality

“K8: RUSTBELT NU METAL 3” is built on authenticity. Across eight tracks, the album explores themes drawn directly from real-life experiences, giving the record a grounded and visceral edge. The emotional core of the project feels particularly aligned with the current climate—unpredictable, heavy, and deeply human.

Rather than abstract storytelling, the album leans into firsthand perspective, reinforcing the band’s reputation for crafting music that feels immediate and unfiltered. That realism becomes both a strength and a weight, shaping the tone of the entire release.

Physical Editions and Availability

Fans looking to own a piece of the release can purchase physical formats, including:

  • CD Edition – $10
  • Glitter Vinyl LP – $25

These editions offer a tangible extension of the album’s aesthetic and sonic identity.

Beyond the Release

The album arrives alongside continued momentum for the band, including the track “Blood of the Covenant” and upcoming live appearances such as Inkcarceration, where audiences can expect to experience the new material in a live setting.

“K8: RUSTBELT NU METAL 3” stands as a defining moment in KING 810’s catalog—an album that doesn’t just present music, but documents a state of being shaped by real events, raw emotion, and the world surrounding it.

Makes My Blood Dance Ignite the Dark with “Black Summer” on Metropolis Records

Makes My Blood Dance return with a seductive, cinematic new single as their 2026 takeover accelerates.

Out February 27, 2026 via Metropolis Records, “Black Summer” marks a defining chapter for Makes My Blood Dance — a New York-based force fusing electro-goth, pop-metal, and electronic dance energy into one relentless pulse.

A Midnight Soundtrack for the Modern Gothic

With “Black Summer,” MMBD expand their dark theatrical universe into something that feels like midnight cinema colliding with underground seduction. The track doesn’t just play — it stalks, it shimmers, it smolders. Built on industrial textures and club-ready momentum, it positions the band deeper inside the modern heavy-electronic circuit while amplifying their signature fusion of fashion, movement, and immersive atmosphere.

The single follows December’s “Your Little Hand In Mine,” further solidifying the band’s sonic identity under the Metropolis banner. Since signing with the label in late 2025, MMBD have sharpened their aesthetic into a fully realized alternative world — not just a sound, but an experience.

From Midwest Momentum to National Domination

After completing a successful Midwest run alongside Smile Empty Soul and Primer 55, the band launched their own “No Love Without Blood Tour” across the Southeast.

This spring, MMBD join Powerman 5000 and 12 Stones for a full U.S. national tour across April and May — a pivotal stretch that places them squarely in front of metal loyalists, industrial diehards, and alternative club crowds alike.

This isn’t just touring. It’s positioning.

Building Toward the Debut Album

“Black Summer” will appear on the band’s forthcoming debut album alongside:

  • “Heavy Metal Armour”
  • “Time And A Place”
  • “Your Little Hand In Mine”

These releases have already surpassed one million Spotify streams, with similarly strong traction on YouTube — proof that their cinematic presentation hits just as hard visually as it does sonically.

Where Industrial Meets Nightlife Culture

Standing at the crossroads of industrial rock, darkwave, and electronic nightlife, Makes My Blood Dance are constructing something larger than a band. Their shows blur the lines between metal gig and underground club ritual — heavy guitars collide with dance-floor propulsion, and introspective atmospheres erupt into communal release.

Each performance feels less like a concert and more like a temporary dimension.

Modern. Kinetic. Built for movement.

“The Place” — A Reflection on Identity and Disillusionment

Sepultura have unveiled the EP track “The Place”, accompanied by a powerful new video. Vocalist Derrick Green explains that the song explores the psychological and emotional journey of immigrants seeking refuge, only to confront internalized self-hatred shaped by propaganda and false security.

According to Green, the song’s structure mirrors its lyrical arc — beginning in disappointment and evolving into anger — capturing the emotional transformation at the heart of the story.

CARPENTER BRUT IGNITES THE ARENA WITH “SPEED OR PERISH” AS LEATHER TEMPLE LOOMS ON THE HORIZON

The engines are screaming, the neon is flickering, and the countdown has begun. Carpenter Brut has unleashed his latest single, “Speed Or Perish,” a high-octane descent into chaos pulled from his forthcoming album Leather Temple, arriving February 27 via No Quarter Prod / Virgin Records. The track doesn’t simply play — it detonates.

Pre-order Leather Temple here:
Pre-Order Leather Temple

Leather Temple marks the third and final chapter in Carpenter Brut’s Leather trilogy — a saga that has fused cinematic horror, glam-metal excess, and dystopian synthwave into a blood-soaked neon mythology. This new installment places listeners at the heart of Midwichpolis, a post-apocalyptic metropolis born from nuclear fallout. At its core stands the Leather Temple itself — a brutal coliseum where speed is survival and hesitation is extinction.

“Speed Or Perish” captures the sonic violence of that arena. Propulsive synth lines slam against electro-stomp percussion and heavy, razor-edged riffs, while dramatic electronics escalate the tension into something primal. It feels like engines revving before impact — like a crowd roaring as war machines collide in a life-or-death race.

Directed and written by Seth Ickerman and produced by No Quarter Prod, the accompanying video transforms that concept into a high-speed bloodbath. Blades flash. Gunfire erupts. Metal tears into metal. It is relentless, visceral, and unapologetically brutal — a visual extension of the track’s ferocity.

Leather Temple pushes Carpenter Brut’s sound into even more cinematic territory while sharpening its attack. The album leans into a saturated ’90s electro atmosphere — dark, unflinching, and driven by distorted layers and cutting beats. Each track functions like a scene in a film: concise, charged, and kinetic. There’s no time for exposition. It hits fast. It hits hard.

The Leather series began in 2018 with Leather Teeth, a stylized homage to ’80s glam rock excess. In 2022, Leather Terror shifted into darker territory, delivering a slasher-horror narrative centered on the vengeful killer Bret Halford. With Leather Temple, the trilogy reaches its climax — a final act that blends cinematic storytelling with relentless sonic propulsion.

Leather Temple Track Listing:

Ouverture (Deus Ex Machina)
Major Threat
Leather Temple
She Rules The Ruins
Start Your Engines
Neon Requiem
Iron Sanctuary
The Misfits The Rebels
Speed or Perish
The End Complete

Since 2012, Carpenter Brut has carved out a singular space within the global synthwave movement, merging electronic music, metal aggression, and deep-rooted 1980s pop culture into a cohesive, shadow-drenched universe. Drawing inspiration from horror auteurs like John Carpenter and Dario Argento, as well as the sonic assault of Slayer and Justice, he has built a stylized world where retro thrillers collide with futuristic dystopia.

That immersive vision explodes to life on stage. Carpenter Brut has announced a run of live shows across Europe, the USA, and Canada in March 2026, including a special standalone UK headline appearance at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on March 22. Full dates and ticket information are available here.

Aesthetic Perfection Announces Massive 2026 “Suckers for Punishment” US Tour and Drops Crushing Seb Komor Remix

After nearly four years away from American stages, Aesthetic Perfection is officially returning home — and they’re not easing back in quietly.

Fronted by Daniel Graves, the long-running industrial pop force has announced the “Suckers for Punishment” US Tour, a full-scale headline run that marks their first major American tour in years. And if the title sounds self-aware, that’s because it is. Graves jokingly admits they may not have “learned their lesson” the last time — but fans across the country are more than ready to welcome the chaos back.

This tour follows their high-profile 2023 run with Till Lindemann, but this time Aesthetic Perfection stands center stage — commanding the spotlight on their own terms.

Joining them on select dates are longtime allies Priest and Julien-K, both previous tour partners who helped shape key eras of the project in 2009 and 2019. This isn’t just a tour — it’s a reunion of industrial-era architects.

After 26 years of evolution, reinvention, and razor-sharp production, Aesthetic Perfection is aiming to make this the most definitive run of their career.

Exclusive VIP Experiences

In addition to general admission tickets, each show will offer a strictly limited VIP upgrade — capped at just 15 spots per city. These upgrades provide a rare, intimate opportunity for fans who want more than just a setlist — they want proximity to the machine.

New Music: “We Bring the Beat” (Seb Komor Remix)

As if the tour wasn’t enough, Aesthetic Perfection has also delivered a pulverizing new remix of “We Bring the Beat”, re-engineered by longtime collaborator Sebastian Komor.

Komor — known for his work in Icon of Coil, Zombie Girl, and Komor Kommando — strips the track down to its mechanical skeleton and rebuilds it for maximum dancefloor impact.

Released via Out of Line Music, the remix hits hard, fast, and without apology — a preview of additional collaborations on the horizon as the US tour approaches.

DUTCH PROGRESSIVE METAL TITANS TEXTURES RETURN WITH GENOTYPE, OUT NOW

After nearly a decade of silence, Dutch progressive metal innovators Textures have finally returned with Genotype—a powerful, forward-thinking album that proves the band hasn’t lost a single ounce of intensity, ambition, or emotional depth. Released today, the album arrives alongside a striking new video for the six-minute epic “Measuring the Heavens” and the launch of a massive European tour with Jinjer.

Long anticipated by fans, Genotype is not a sequel to 2016’s Phenotype—it’s a rebirth. Written entirely from scratch and self-produced, the album distills everything that defines TEXTURES into eight meticulously crafted tracks. Mixed by Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus), Genotype balances surgical technicality with emotional weight, pushing heaviness, melody, and atmosphere into new territory 💀

Measuring the Heavens: Tension as a Weapon

The newly released lyric video for “Measuring the Heavens” is a masterclass in restraint and release. Drummer Stef Broks describes the track as a deliberate exercise in tension-building—six minutes of controlled pressure before a final, punishing payoff. It’s a song that challenges patience, expectations, and comfort zones, rewarding listeners willing to go the distance.

Lyrically, Genotype speaks directly to outsiders, introverts, and those navigating unseen inner worlds. It’s an album about authenticity, resilience, and refusing to dilute who you are—music for those who exist just outside the spotlight, but burn just as bright 🔥

Genotype Tracklist

  • Void – 3:49
  • At The Edge Of Winter – 6:42
  • Measuring The Heavens – 6:51
  • Nautical Dusk – 5:35
  • Vanishing Twin – 5:49
  • Closer To The Unknown – 4:08
  • A Seat For The Like-Minded – 5:01
  • Walls of the Soul – 7:52

Formats Available

Genotype is available now in multiple physical editions, including a striking coke-bottle green splatter vinyl and a white/blue marble vinyl gatefold with printed lyric insert, as well as a classic black vinyl edition and CD digipak.

Reclaiming the Stage

TEXTURES have spent years building a fiercely loyal global following—from headlining festivals in India to becoming a fixture at European metal landmarks like Hellfest, Wacken Open Air, Graspop, and Brutal Assault. Now, they’re set to reclaim their place as one of progressive metal’s most electrifying live acts.

Kicking off today in Cologne, the band joins Jinjer and Unprocessed for an extensive 5.5-week European tour running through March 2026. As Stef Broks puts it, this tour marks a major milestone for the band—and an invitation for fans old and new to reconnect in the pit 🤘

Rob Zombie & Marilyn Manson Announce Co-Headline “Freaks on Parade” North American Tour 2026

Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson — two of rock’s most notorious and theatrical icons — are hitting the road together once again for a massive 21-date North American co-headline tour this summer. Dubbed the “Freaks on Parade” Tour, the trek promises late-summer chaos, industrial shock-rock spectacle, and a carnival-of-the-damned energy that only these two showmen can deliver.

The tour kicks off on August 20 in West Palm Beach, Florida at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre and barrels through major cities including Tampa, Charlotte, Boston, Chicago, Toronto, and Detroit, before closing out on September 20 in Concord, California at the Toyota Pavilion at Concord.

Tour Highlights

  • 21 dates across the U.S. and Canada with stops in Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ontario, Michigan, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, Washington, and more.
  • Special guests The Hu, the Mongolian metal collective blending traditional instrumentation with thunderous rhythms, will join every show.
  • Industrial rock veterans Orgy, famed for their late-’90s hits, ride shotgun throughout the tour.
  • Tickets go on sale January 23 to the general public after presales via Citi and artist presales earlier in the week.

LORDS OF ACID Return With ‘Cheeky Freaky’ U.S. Tour and First New Album in Eight Years

After years of anticipation, Lords of Acid are officially back on U.S. soil. The legendary electronic provocateurs have announced the “Cheeky Freaky Tour,” a 29-date headlining run launching April 25 in Las Vegas and stretching coast to coast through the end of May. More than a simple comeback, the tour marks the opening chapter of a fully reenergized era for the band—one that looks forward without erasing its infamous past.

This spring run is deliberately framed as a reinvention rather than a nostalgia trip. The “Cheeky Freaky Tour” blends intimate club settings with large-scale festival appearances, including Sick New World in Las Vegas and Ritual Noize Fest in Denver. Each stop promises a high-impact, immersive experience that reflects decades of live evolution while amplifying the band’s modern edge.

Founder and creative architect Praga Khan confirms that this momentum is driven by more than touring ambition. For the first time in eight years, LORDS OF ACID have completed entirely new material, with a brand-new album expected later this year. According to Khan, the upcoming record respects the legacy that built the band’s reputation while decisively pushing their sound, visuals, and performance energy into the future.

Now fronted by Carla Harvey, the current Acid Queen era bridges generations seamlessly. Setlists are designed to collide eras—iconic tracks like “Pu**y,” “I Sit On Acid,” and “Crablouse” sit alongside unreleased material that previews what’s next. The focus remains on tension, theatrical presence, and sonic impact, reinforcing the band’s reputation for performances that feel confrontational, playful, and dangerously alive.

The supporting lineup has been curated to match the tour’s boundary-breaking ethos. Dead on a Sunday bring raw, modern gothic energy, while Princess Superstar delivers razor-sharp lyricism and club-ready confidence. Tony and the Kiki add fashion-forward alternative pop flair, and MZ Neon opens each night with pulsing underground electronics. Notably, both Princess Superstar and Tony and the Kiki appear on the forthcoming LORDS OF ACID album, offering fans an early glimpse into the band’s next creative phase—live and unfiltered.

Decades into their career, LORDS OF ACID continue to defy expectations of what an electronic act can be. Loud, visual, provocative, and unapologetically bold, the “Cheeky Freaky Tour” is less about reclaiming relevance and more about proving they never lost it.

KMFDM European Tour Postponed as Ultra Heavy Beat Faction Prepares to Strike Back with ENEMY

The Ultra Heavy Beat never dies—but sometimes it’s forced to regroup. German electronic and industrial rock pioneers KMFDM have officially postponed their nearly sold-out European tour, originally scheduled for February and March 2026, due to a severe illness requiring immediate medical intervention and ongoing therapy.

Tour Update: Health Comes First

The tour was set to support the band’s forthcoming 24th studio album, ENEMY, but circumstances beyond their control have brought plans to a temporary halt.

“We are so very sorry. We were looking forward to do this tour, but we will make up for it,” states KMFDM founder Sascha ‘Käpt’n K’ Konietzko.
“We appreciate your love and support! Long live the ULTRA HEAVY BEAT,” adds co-vocalist Lucia Cifarelli.

All tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates. A revised tour timeline is expected to be announced soon.

Album Release Unchanged: ENEMY Arrives February 6, 2026

Despite the tour delay, the release of ENEMY remains locked in for February 6, 2026, via Metropolis Records.

The first single, “OUBLIETTE,” is already available and sets the tone for what may be KMFDM’s most confrontational release yet.

ENEMY

  • Formats: 2×LP | CD | Digital
  • Release Date: February 6, 2026
  • Label: Metropolis Records
  • Includes the single: OUBLIETTE (WAV | MP3 | Streaming | Bandcamp)

The Sound of Defiance

Society fractures. Fascism parades openly. Silence is demanded. KMFDM responds the only way they know how—louder, sharper, and more uncompromising than ever.

With 42 years of conceptual continuity through distinction, KMFDM declare themselves the ENEMY—a direct challenge to hypocrisy, discrimination, and systemic decay. The album is helmed by the songwriting and vocal command of Konietzko and Cifarelli, driven by the percussive assault of Andy Selway, and now reinforced by London-based guitarist Tidor Nieddu, whose vivid six-string attack injects fresh aggression into the KMFDM arsenal.

Adding another striking dimension, Annabella Konietzko appears on the explosive track “YOÜ,” marking her songwriting debut with the band after mesmerizing audiences during the 40th anniversary tour.

Musical Warfare Across the Tracklist

ENEMY is stylistically fearless—biting satire, political venom, and dancefloor-ready brutality collide across its runtime:

  • Dance/rock melodicism: OUBLIETTE
  • Dark industrial grooves: CATCH & KILL
  • Thrash satire: OUTERNATIONAL INTERVENTION
  • Vicious industrial metal: L’ETAT
  • Funk-driven menace: VAMPYR
  • Dub-laced defiance: STRAY BULLET 2.0

KMFDM continues to move—dancing on the blood-dimmed tide, roaring against a world that demands ignorance over awareness.

  2. OUBLIETTE
  3. L’ETAT
  4. VAMPYR
  5. YOÜ

Founded in Hamburg in 1984 by Sascha Konietzko, KMFDM carved a singular path through industrial rock—combining confrontational politics, abrasive electronics, and undeniable hooks. Early releases in Germany led to U.S. success through Wax Trax! Records, with the 1990s cementing their legacy via hits like “Juke Joint Jezebel” and soundtrack placements in Bad Boys and Mortal Kombat.

Bands such as Rammstein and Korn cut their teeth opening on KMFDM tours. After a brief hiatus in 1999, the band re-emerged on Metropolis Records with Lucia Cifarelli, continuing a relentless cycle of releases and tours. Their most recent album, LET GO (2024), capped a 40-year legacy, followed by a remixed and remastered edition of HAU RUCK in 2025.

MASTER BOOT RECORD tours in support of HARDWAREZ, the 2024 full-length released via Metal Blade Records.

Created by multi-instrumentalist and mastermind Vittorio D’Amore (aka Victor Love), HARDWAREZ explores the duality of technology — power versus dependence, precision versus chaos. The album follows Personal Computer (2022) and Floppy Disk Overdrive (2020), further expanding MBR’s cybernetic mythology.

True to form, HARDWAREZ was composed live via desktop streaming, entirely programmed through MIDI, then reinforced by real guitars, updated drum systems, and a heavier, punchier mix approach developed through intensive touring.

The results spoke immediately:

  • #3 on Billboard’s Current Electronic Albums
  • #11 on Current Hard Music Albums
  • #17 on Top New Artists Albums

“When atoms and beats are combined, Dulce Líquido is ready to annihilate the dancefloors. The record will keep your mind and body dancing until you die on the dancefloor.”

Minimal. Violent. Hypnotic.
This is industrial distortion at full force—a ritual of noise, panic, hate, and absolute catharsis.

GATES TO HELL Drops New Single ‘Disfigured’ Ahead of Fall Tour Dates

Louisville natives GATES TO HELL are back with a new digital single, “Disfigured.” The track is a brutally heavy, all-killer-no-filler song—essentially one long, punishing breakdown. The single is a B-side from the band’s recent album, Death Comes to All, which was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Randy LeBoeuf.

The band comments that they wrote the track a few years ago and decided to release it now to coincide with their upcoming tour with Dying Fetus. They recall playing it on a 2023 tour where it got the crowd moving every night, and they’re excited to finally have it out for the world to hear.

Starting on September 20th, GATES TO HELL will embark on a 24-day trek that includes performances at the New England Metal & Hardcore Fest and Louder Than Life. They will also join headliners Dying Fetus on their ‘Into The Cesspool’ US/Canadian 2025 tour with Mugshot. Following the tour, the band will wrap up the year with a show in Albany, New York, before kicking off a run in Europe with Sanguisugabogg, Fulci, and Celestial Sanctuary in the new year.

The band’s recent album, Death Comes to All, was fueled by youthful ambition and a sharp creative focus, with producer Randy LeBoeuf elevating their sound to new heights. The album’s artwork, crafted by WYRMWALK, offers a fitting representation of the blood-soaked dread and suffocating darkness within the music. The album is available in multiple formats, including CD and various vinyl pressings.

COGNITIVE Drops “People = Shit” Cover Ahead of US Tour with NILE

Technical death metal architects COGNITIVE have unveiled their outstanding cover of the Slipknot classic, “People = Shit.” The standalone single arrives in advance of the band’s upcoming US tour, supporting death metal legends NILE. The Underground Awaits Tour 2025 is set to begin this Friday, September 12th in Raleigh, North Carolina, and will run through October 11th in Indianapolis, Indiana. Additional support will be provided by Cryptopsy and labelmates, The Last Ten Seconds Of Life.

In a collective statement, COGNITIVE commented on the new release: “We have been hard at work writing our next album and prepping for tour, but decided to spend some time having fun and recorded a cover of ‘People = Shit’ by the almighty Slipknot! We wanted to have fun with something that wasn’t exactly death metal, but still in the extreme realm! The world is an awful place, and humanity doesn’t make it any better, so to us the Slipknot math and song title added up correctly! We hope you enjoy and see you on the road!”

COGNITIVE will be touring in support of their most recent full-length album, Abhorrence, released last spring via Metal Blade Records. The record finds the New Jersey-based quintet at their brutal best. Abhorrence carries on band tradition with its maniacal fusion of relentless riffs and devastating lyrics, making for a raging, draining, and ultimately fulfilling experience.

With performances spanning three nights, fans can expect a wide variety of genres, from aggressive industrial to melodic darkwave and everything in between. The festival has confirmed a total of 35 bands performing over three days, plus two bands on the Thursday night pre-party.

Confirmed Lineup Spotlight

  • Combichrist – One of the most popular bands in the electro-industrial “aggrotech” movement, recognized for dominating dance floors with aggressive bangers and successful tours with Rammstein, including a performance at Madison Square Garden.
  • Front Line Assembly – A Canadian electro-industrial band formed by Bill Leeb in 1986 after leaving Skinny Puppy. They are highly revered as one of the pioneers and godfathers of the industrial music scene.

Mach Fox Announces New Album “Chaos Of Man”

Mach FoX will release the new 7-song album Chaos of Man in October 2025 on Phage Tapes. The album will be available on cassette and digital.

Originally intended for the third Zwaremachine album, these songs were reworked after the passing of drummer Dein Offizier in August 2023. The project was then released under the Mach FoX name, as the songs no longer fit the current Zwaremachine live set. The album features the classic Zwaremachine trio of Mach FoX, bassist Dbot, and the late Dein Offizier on surdo drum.

The single “Biteback” from the album was released on Friday, September 5th.

Chaos of Man is for fans of industrial rock and Wax Trax.

Zwaremachine is currently on “The Machine Comes Alive Tour,” which includes both European and U.S. dates. This tour is notable as it features the new lineup following the passing of drummer Dein Offizier.

Key Tour Details:

  • U.S. Dates: The tour includes shows in Sioux Falls, Minneapolis (a hometown show supporting Leæther Strip), and Chicago.
  • European Dates: The band is also performing in Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands, with some shows featuring bands like Vuduvox and Enzo Kreft.
  • Current Lineup: The live shows feature Dutch guitarist Paul K and a new drummer/guitarist in addition to founder Mach FoX. This new live configuration is distinct from the trio that recorded the Chaos of Man album.

Aesthetic Perfection: A Winter Tour, Reimagined Album, and More

Happy Monday, Perfectionists! Things are busy at Aesthetic Perfection HQ. While we’re gearing up for our upcoming winter tour with Till Lindemann, we’re also excited to announce a series of headline shows on the We Bring the Beat Tour. All dates and ticket links are listed below.

We’re also secretly working on a new album and even discussing a potential return to North America in 2026. Stay tuned for more details as they develop, and if you want access to top-secret information and regular updates, consider joining our Imperfect Society community.

In the meantime, the reimagined reissue of my debut album, Closer to Human, is finally available in the North American shop, and my Dark Force Fest lecture has been published on YouTube. You can find all the details on these below. Your support means the world to me!

Closer to Human | Out Now!

On June 20th, I released the long-awaited reissue of my debut album. This isn’t just a simple re-release; it’s a complete reinvention of the 2005 original, rebuilt from the ground up using all the original samples and synthesizers.

During the initial preorder, the red vinyl editions nearly sold out, but a handful were reserved for my online shops. They’ve just arrived in our facility and are shipping now. Don’t miss out, because once they’re gone, they’re gone! Closer to Human is available in all formats in both the Aesthetic Perfection North American and European webshops.

How to Make It When You Haven’t Made It

On May 3rd, 2025, I finally held the talk I’d been planning for over a decade. Originally conceived for SXSW in 2014, my lecture explores the realities, promises, and pitfalls of being an independent musician. It’s meant to help artists turn their passion into a profession without relying on the traditional music industry.

Give it a watch on YouTube and let me know if you’d like me to do more presentations like this.

Spotify | Curated Playlists

I’ve made many of my private Spotify playlists public. In my free time, I love curating playlists that feature my favorite vibes and genres, and I thought you might enjoy them too! So far, the response has been great. Here are some of my current playlists:

“I’ve died a thousand little deaths, and I’ve got something you might like:
A carrion heart… will you take me on a flight?”

Dutch gothic storytellers BLACKBRIAR have unleashed their haunting new single “Harpy”, a soaring ode to the mythological spirit of wind and storm. Known in ancient lore for abducting those cursed by the gods, the harpy becomes both guide and symbol for a soul seeking release.

If not, I fear I might be stuck in the same place, slowly left eroding. I need to die one last time to finally be laid to rest. This song, ‘Harpy,’ inspired the album title.”

🏛️ About Metal Blade Records

Born from a record store clerk’s passion project in 1982, Metal Blade Records became the engine behind countless legendary bands. Brian Slagel famously helped launch Metallica via Metal Massacre, and went on to shape the careers of Slayer, GWAR, Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse, Fates Warning, The Black Dahlia Murder, and dozens more.

In recent years, Metal Blade has celebrated its 40th anniversary with live events, reissues, branded spirits, and a second book from Slagel, Swing of the Blade. The museum is the physical embodiment of that legacy—a love letter to the fans and the genre that continues to evolve and endure.

🎙️ In 2024, the label launched the “100 Songs That Define Heavy Metal” podcast with Pantheon Media, hosted by Slagel himself. Featuring in-depth analysis, historic commentary, and appearances from artists like James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Stephen Pearcy, the show offers an authoritative deep dive into the songs that forged the metal genre.

🎧🎶 DEATH RATTLE Unleashes New Single/Music Video “The Darkness” Today! Album “The Moral Chokehold” Out July 11th 🎧

New England metal band DEATH RATTLE continues to build momentum with the release of their powerful new single and music video, “The Darkness,” available today, June 2nd, 2025. This release comes as anticipation builds for their forthcoming album, The Moral Chokehold, now set to drop on July 11th, 2025, due to a manufacturing delay.

Check out “The Darkness” on all streaming/download digital platforms or watch the music video here.

“’The Darkness’ is collectively one of, if not our most favorite song from the ‘Moral Chokehold,” states guitarist Ryan Vanderwolk. “Not only is it the closer for the record, but also the closer for our live sets. Born from a couple of riff ideas, it quickly grew to a much larger, and diverse song as everyone put their fingerprints on it. There are the elements of the groove, and aggression Death Rattle does well, but also has more relaxed moments, a huge catchy chorus, and a very progressive climax. ‘Rage against the dying of the light’ and enter ‘The Darkness.’”

Building on recent tours with diverse acts like Left To Die, Gorgoroth, and Aeturnus, and gaining traction on Liquid Metal radio, DEATH RATTLE showcases their blend of groove, melody, and aggression, as previously heard in tracks like “Malthusian Dependency”, “Immersed in Black,” and “Nietzsche, and the Fall” (featuring Bjorn “Speed” Strid of SOILWORK/THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA).

Pre-order The Moral Chokehold now for a limited edition 300 “Philosopher’s Moon” colored vinyl, CD, and Digital formats at http://lnk.to/deathrattle.

The Moral Chokehold boasts a powerful sound, thanks to production by Kevin Billingslea (Lamb of God, Trivium), mixing/mastering by Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Kreator), and stunning artwork from Tamer Azab of The Dark Art in Dubai.

“We are beyond stoked to release ‘The Moral Chokehold.’ For us, this album has been almost four years in the making. We had a blast writing and recording it, but for the last year we have been in the trenches making content and releasing things to hype up the release. It is the grind of the music business. It feels so good to finally get back to what we are passionate about – the music. Releasing these songs to the world and touring to support them is what this whole venture is all about. Creatively, this was a giant step forward for us. We experimented with writing more in the studio environment and playing with different melody structures. It has brought out a new energy in our live show. When a group of songs inspires the band to begin writing the next album before the music is even released, you know you have made something special. That is how we feel about ‘…Chokehold.’ We cannot wait for you all to hear this thing all the way through.”

Hailing from New England, a region known for producing influential metal acts, DEATH RATTLE aims to follow in those footsteps. They have already released two independent albums, toured the US four times (including supporting The Convalescence), and toured Japan twice, supporting acts like Cattle Decapitation, Revocation, Ne Obliviscaris, and Wolfheart. They have also played regionally with Hatebreed, Soulfly, Unearth, Crowbar, Allegaeon, Philip H Anselmo and the Illegals, Let Us Prey, and appeared at festivals like Mayhem Fest, Summer Slaughter, New England Metal and Hardcore Fest, and the Tattoo & Music Festival.

Upcoming Live Shows:

  • 6/13 – Jewel – Manchester, NH
  • 6/14 – The Cage – Lewiston, ME

DEATH RATTLE is:

  • Trey Holton (vocals)
  • Ryan Vanderwolk (guitar)
  • Justin Brown (bass)
  • Chris Morin (drums)

Inside Dead Posey: The Unfiltered Story of Rebellion, Resilience, and Rock’s Dark Heart

Origins & Evolution

The spark that ignited Dead Posey was a shared love for rock’s dark heart. Danyell, then immersed in acting and modeling, found her calling one night in Tony’s studio. Already a seasoned musician with Eve 6 and a producer in his own right, Tony witnessed Danyell’s raw talent as she sang Nirvana’s “Come As You Are.” “A newfound passion was unlocked in me,” she recalls, “I knew from that moment in my bones that this is what I was meant to do in life.” They hit the ground running, writing songs that would soon define their unique sound.

Their early “Freak Show EP” era, what they now call Dead Posey 1.0, was a significant milestone, landing them publishing and record deals, along with crucial sync placements. At the time, they believed they had found their sound—a bluesy, garage-rock feel. However, the road ahead held more evolution. As they played live more often, their sound matured, growing harder and more aggressive, embracing darker, synthier rock with heavy guitars. This transformation led to Dead Posey 2.0, where they truly found their stride, blending their favorite influences into a cohesive, powerful force. Playing new songs live before release became a vital part of this evolution, injecting a new level of energy into their recordings.

Early tracks like “Don’t Stop the Devil” became unexpected launching pads, propelling their music into TV and film. These placements were a crucial early boost, providing funding for gear, tours, and merch. “It’s funny looking back, though,” Danyell muses, “our sound has changed so much since then, and we thought that time was the peak. But in reality, it was just the beginning.” This early success taught them a valuable lesson: constant growth and adaptation are essential to building a solid, sustainable foundation in an ever-changing industry.

Their sound is a potent cocktail of influences, a blend of Marilyn Manson, Garbage, Hole, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, and Depeche Mode. They gravitate toward anything with dark energy, industrial textures, raw emotion, classic melodies, and a guitar thrust. It’s an intuitive process, a musical blender where everything goes in, and something uniquely Dead Posey emerges. The Freak Show EP, their debut, remains a special marker of their journey, an “innocent but still polished” snapshot of their early days, even as they’ve creatively moved far beyond it.

Breaking into the competitive music industry as a DIY band presented immense challenges, and they’re still pushing boundaries a decade later. They’ve learned not to rely on fickle industry support, choosing instead to focus on what they can control: creating music they’re passionate about and fostering genuine connections with fans through social media and live shows. Their mantra: “Fluff doesn’t create a sustainable career; it’s the hard work you put in every day when no one’s watching that truly makes a difference.” Looking back, their advice to their younger selves would be blunt: “Buckle up – this journey is a long, winding road! The blood, sweat, and tears it will take are beyond imagination so be ready.” They’ve been knocked down countless times, but their unwavering love for creating music, performing live, and connecting with their fans always pulls them back up.

A palpable fire ignites Dead Posey’s latest releases. Their current sound is fueled by rebellion, survival, and self-liberation, a visceral response to the chaos of the world. They’re relentlessly pushing through darkness—mentally, emotionally, and sonically—emerging stronger with every note. Uninterested in trends, they channel years of frustration, power, and resilience into music that is unapologetically their own, designed to endure.

Current Energy & Headspace

While their sound has evolved, their core songwriting and production process remains collaborative. Danyell brings thematic and lyrical vision, while Tony, a versatile musician, masterfully pulls everything into a cohesive, impactful whole. They’ve always been hands-on, writing and producing every element themselves. A significant recent shift involves road-testing new songs live before finalizing them, allowing them to gauge audience connection and infuse recordings with live energy.

Beyond the music, Dead Posey cultivates an iconic visual aesthetic, an extension of their sound. Every release is an opportunity to expand the Dead Posey universe, telling stories through artwork, photos, and stage attire. They draw inspiration from gritty rock ‘n’ roll, vintage flair, dark surrealism, and classic and modern horror, letting the visuals organically rise from the music itself.

Maintaining creative chemistry amidst constant demands requires discipline. They strive to shut out distractions in the studio, finding inspiration in their creative space. Their shared investment in every aspect of the band keeps them grounded and hungry. It’s a delicate balance of trust, taking necessary breaks, and open communication. Their driving force: “The energy we put into the band is what will keep it thriving.”

In an industry where mental health is paramount, they prioritize staying grounded by focusing on what they can control, often breaking it down into week-by-week chunks. They’ve learned not to chase external validation, instead centering on creating music they love and connecting with their fans. Setting boundaries with industry interactions has become crucial for protecting their energy and mental space. Self-care, even in small ways, is essential for navigating the chaos. This past year, they’ve embraced resilience, learning that growth flourishes in discomfort and uncertainty, leading to greater confidence and personal evolution. Their proudest moments of 2024 include releasing their debut album, Are You In A Cult?, headlining shows in the UK, and playing for their biggest crowd yet at Spain’s Rockland festival.

What Lies Ahead

With their debut full-length album, Are You In A Cult?, recently released, Dead Posey is taking time to let it resonate, focusing on touring and bringing their sonic world to as many fans as possible. While always writing, they’re not rushing into another album, instead considering collabs or special versions of existing songs for later in the year. Their dream collaborations span legends like Lady Gaga, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, or Garbage, recognizing these artists’ profound influence on Dead Posey’s DNA, but they’re equally open to teaming up with rising acts who share their vibe.

Dead Posey remains a core duo, bringing in talented live musicians for their shows. Their vision and songwriting will always stem from the two of them. Their ultimate goal is to become a headlining act, capable of easily touring small to medium clubs, and from there, building to bucket-list aspirations like headlining festivals and becoming a household name. They’re not waiting for opportunities; they’re building their own solid foundation.

They constantly push boundaries in their sound and performance, aiming for an immersive live experience that transcends mere song delivery, engaging audiences on a deeper level with visuals and raw energy. They refuse to stay stagnant, always striving to surprise themselves and their fans. In a rock, alt, and industrial landscape that often blurs genre lines, Dead Posey stands apart with their raw energy and authenticity, in it for the long haul to build their own path.

Ultimately, Dead Posey hopes to leave a lasting mark by demonstrating that success and a loyal fanbase can be found outside “the club,” even in a constantly shifting social media landscape. They aspire to inspire other artists to trust their instincts and remain true to their vision, even when external pressures push in different directions.
