Boston dark-electronic project Asphodel Ivory turns emotional collapse into dancefloor propulsion on “Fall,” a self-released single already finding its way into the underground industrial circuit.
Darkness, Emotion and the Machinery of “Fall”
Asphodel Ivory has returned with “Fall,” a new digital single released on August 21, 2026, pushing the Boston project deeper into the collision point between industrial aggression, dark-electronic atmosphere and emotionally charged club music. The track is currently listed as Asphodel Ivory’s latest release.
Rather than separating melancholy from dancefloor energy, “Fall” brings the two together. The result fits naturally within Asphodel Ivory’s increasingly recognizable territory: industrial, dark electro, EBM, aggrotech and futurepop, where heavy electronic rhythms can carry just as much emotional weight as the vocals riding above them.
Importantly, available release documentation identifies “Fall” as a self-released digital single. While Asphodel Ivory has appeared on releases connected with Outer Darkness Records, current documentation does not identify the label as the issuer of “Fall.” Communion After Dark specifically listed the single as self-released when featuring it on its August 31 program.
From Boston’s Dark Clubs to the Wider Underground
Asphodel Ivory isn’t operating from the sidelines of dark-club culture.
The project is dark-electronic project of the founder behind Boston events Elysium and Synapse, with a sound spanning EBM, industrial, trance, darkwave, aggrotech, futurepop and synthpop.
That connection to the dancefloor is tangible. Asphodel Ivory as the promoter behind Synapse, with an August 2026 event describing the project’s DJ sets as a combination of industrial techno and pounding EBM. Earlier Elysium events likewise positioned Asphodel Ivory within Boston’s goth, industrial, aggrotech and power-noise community.
The recording project itself officially emerged with “Eclipse” in May 2025. Recorded at Lukotyk Studios, the track was described as Asphodel Ivory’s debut single and a message from a future self to the past about discovering one’s place within the dark community.
“Fall” shows that evolution continuing. What began as a relatively young recording project is increasingly intersecting with the broader dark-electronic ecosystem through original material, remixes, compilation appearances and DJ culture.
“Fall” Is Already Moving Through the Underground
The single hasn’t remained confined to Asphodel Ivory’s own channels.
Communion After Dark featured “Fall” during its August 31, 2026 program, placing Asphodel Ivory alongside contemporary industrial and dark-electronic artists including Xiescive, INVA//ID and Subliminal Code.
For longtime Evol Radio readers, the name should also sound familiar. Asphodel Ivory previously appeared on Outer Darkness Records’ Inquisition Vol. II: The Scorn with “Upgrade (Ground to Dust Remix),” alongside artists including pixelgrinder, ANGER 奰, Dilemma, Hexen Prozess and Ground to Dust.
That makes “Fall” another step in a project steadily expanding beyond its Boston foundations while remaining firmly connected to the underground community that shaped it.
