Three Routes into Industrial Ruin 💀
RABBeAT released The Hill on September 4, 2026, through Netherlands-based industrial hardcore label Dark. Descent. Across three tracks and nearly 19 minutes, the Lyon producer dismantles familiar genre conventions through distorted kicks, unstable arrangements, nightmarish atmospheres, and noise that refuses to behave politely.
The opening track, “Ghosts,” is a collaboration with Dark. Descent. founder The Relic, the project of Dutch producer Maurice Pinkster. Sparse horror vocals are buried beneath crushing distortion and an immovable kick drum, turning the track’s apparent familiarity into something suffocating and overwhelming.
Written and produced by RABBeAT’s J. Ravit and The Relic’s M. Pinkster, “Ghosts” establishes the EP’s central principle immediately: recognizable industrial hardcore elements can still become dangerous when pushed far enough.
Familiar Structures Collapse Under Pressure ⚙️
“Hang On, Not Yet” abandons the predictable architecture of conventional hardcore. Trippy passages interrupt the impact while stripped beats temporarily lose their expected bass foundation. Strange synthetic melodies emerge without warning before collapsing beneath sudden walls of distorted rhythm.
The usual cues provide little assistance. RABBeAT continually changes the track’s internal logic, forcing listeners to follow its movement instead of anticipating the next transition.
“Running Down The Hill” closes the release with its dirtiest and most openly abrasive collision. Abused post-rock guitars, shouted vocals, high-frequency squeals, and a gray storm of noise drag the track somewhere between an old industrial bunker and a contemporary hardcore floor.
Although all three tracks are uncompromisingly heavy, each arrives through a different route. “Ghosts” weaponizes recognizable industrial hardcore force, “Hang On, Not Yet” destabilizes rhythmic expectations, and “Running Down The Hill” contaminates the machinery with guitars, voices, and corrosive noise.
