Hunter As a Horse—the project of South African musician and vocalist Mia van Wyk—returns with “Lighthouse,” a deeply personal new single out January 30, 2026 via Metropolis Records. The track marks van Wyk’s first release for the label, signaling a powerful new chapter in her steadily evolving artistic journey.
Based in South Africa’s Western Cape, van Wyk has spent recent years self-releasing a wide-ranging body of work that blends electronically driven songwriting with intense, melancholic lyricism and darkly cinematic production. Lighthouse distills those elements into one of her most emotionally resonant statements to date.
Drawing inspiration from mythology, psychology, and the writings of Carl Jung—particularly the concept of “shadow work”—Lighthouse explores the idea that only the broken can truly understand one another. Van Wyk frames the song as an act of defiance against the notion that some people cannot be saved. Instead, it becomes a fearless confrontation with inner demons, rooted in empathy, lived experience, and hard-won healing.
Musically, Hunter As a Horse continues to blur boundaries, gliding effortlessly between alternative, indie, electronic, and dream-pop, with subtle detours into alternative dance and nu-goth. The result is a haunting, immersive soundscape that feels both intimate and expansive. The project has previously been described as creating apocalyptic soundtracks for uncertain times, with The Guardian noting its “mesmerising atmospherics… dark and very lovely indeed.”
Van Wyk’s lyrics are shaped by a deeply personal and mystical worldview, informed by themes of death, addiction, astral visions, CPTSD, melancholia, nostalgia, and magical thinking. That authenticity has resonated far beyond the underground, with Hunter As a Horse songs appearing in major U.S. television series including American Horror Story, Riverdale, and Elite, as well as the film Wander Darkly and numerous international advertising campaigns.
With Lighthouse, Hunter As a Horse offers a guiding light through emotional darkness—one grounded not in perfection, but in survival, understanding, and shared scars.
Metropolis Records has officially released “Rage,” the latest hard-hitting single from Damage Control, featuring an unrelenting collaboration with EBM and industrial icon Leæther Strip.
Built on pounding rhythms, harsh electronics, and a confrontational atmosphere, “Rage” lives up to its title—channeling pure aggression into a tightly wound, club-ready weapon. Damage Control bring precision and force, while Leæther Strip injects a signature intensity that reinforces the track’s raw, uncompromising edge.
The release stands as a meeting point between modern industrial ferocity and legacy EBM power, continuing Metropolis Records’ long-standing tradition of bridging generations within the dark electronic underground.

Deep Dive into the Universe of Damage Control & Leæther Strip
The US electro-industrial institution returns with a harrowing new single, setting the emotional and thematic tone for the upcoming album On Enmity.
Flesh Field have released “Supplication”, a stark and emotionally devastating new single out now via Metropolis Records. The track arrives as a study in absence, grief, and survival—less about healing, more about learning how to exist inside the wreckage left behind.
💀 A Song About Longing That Never Ends “This song explores the ache of longing for what is absent and will never return,” explains founder Ian Ross. “That longing itself eventually becomes the only reason to continue on despite the knowledge that it will never be fulfilled.” “Supplication” doesn’t offer resolution. Instead, it dwells in the tension between memory and endurance, where persistence itself becomes an act of defiance.
💀 From Survival to Adaptation: On Enmity The single appears on Flesh Field’s forthcoming full-length On Enmity, due February 20, 2026. Described as the most personal material Ross has ever written, the album documents life after trauma—dissecting damage, chronicling endurance, and confronting the reality that survival is not always a choice. This is not an album about recovery. It is about adaptation to ruin.
💀 A Legacy Reforged On Enmity follows a powerful resurgence for Flesh Field. After resurrecting the project in 2023 with the concept album Voice of the Echo Chamber—exploring stages of political radicalization—Ross expanded the narrative with the Voice of Reason EP in 2024. In 2025, the band’s foundational works Viral Extinction (1999) and Belief Control (2001) were remastered and reissued, reaffirming their lasting impact on the electro-industrial canon.
A collision of dark electro titans signals the opening wound of a brutal new era.
Dawn Of Ashes have returned with “Penumbra,” a devastating new collaborative single featuring Suicide Commando, officially released on January 23, 2026 via Metropolis Records. The track marks the first strike from Anatomy Of Suffering, the forthcoming full-length album from Dawn Of Ashes, arriving March 20, 2026.
Dark, oppressive, and unrelenting, “Penumbra” is a deliberate descent into shadow—one that bridges eras of industrial extremity while sharpening the knives for what’s to come 💀
A Reunion of Darkness ⚙️
“Penumbra” channels the suffocating atmosphere and raw aggression that defined early-2000s dark electro, but with modern precision and absolute hostility. The collaboration unites Dawn Of Ashes founder Kristof Bathory with Suicide Commando’s Johan Van Roy, resulting in a track that feels ritualistic, confrontational, and merciless.
Bathory describes the single as both a nostalgic invocation and a warning shot—setting the tone for Anatomy Of Suffering while serving as a prelude to the chaos ahead. This is not a throwback; it’s a reckoning.
Anatomy Of Suffering: The Descent Continues 🩸
Anatomy Of Suffering follows the band’s 2025 release Infecting The Scars, a rebirth forged after Bathory’s relocation to Denmark. That album fused the unfiltered violence of Dawn Of Ashes’ early years with a refined, evolved sonic architecture. Its remix companion, Reinfecting The Scars, expanded that vision further.
Now, with Anatomy Of Suffering, the band pushes even deeper—into pain, decay, and psychological collapse—continuing a legacy that has relentlessly evolved for over two decades 💀
Acts Of Destruction: 2026 U.S. West Coast Tour 🔥
The release of “Penumbra” lands on the eve of Dawn Of Ashes’ Acts Of Destruction U.S. West Coast tour, kicking off in Los Angeles—the city where the project was born at the turn of the millennium.

The Ultra Heavy Beat never dies—but sometimes it’s forced to regroup. German electronic and industrial rock pioneers KMFDM have officially postponed their nearly sold-out European tour, originally scheduled for February and March 2026, due to a severe illness requiring immediate medical intervention and ongoing therapy.
Tour Update: Health Comes First
The tour was set to support the band’s forthcoming 24th studio album, ENEMY, but circumstances beyond their control have brought plans to a temporary halt.
“We are so very sorry. We were looking forward to do this tour, but we will make up for it,” states KMFDM founder Sascha ‘Käpt’n K’ Konietzko. “We appreciate your love and support! Long live the ULTRA HEAVY BEAT,” adds co-vocalist Lucia Cifarelli.
All tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates. A revised tour timeline is expected to be announced soon.
Album Release Unchanged: ENEMY Arrives February 6, 2026
Despite the tour delay, the release of ENEMY remains locked in for February 6, 2026, via Metropolis Records.
The first single, “OUBLIETTE,” is already available and sets the tone for what may be KMFDM’s most confrontational release yet.
ENEMY
Formats: 2×LP | CD | Digital
Release Date: February 6, 2026
Label: Metropolis Records
Includes the single: OUBLIETTE (WAV | MP3 | Streaming | Bandcamp)
The Sound of Defiance
Society fractures. Fascism parades openly. Silence is demanded. KMFDM responds the only way they know how—louder, sharper, and more uncompromising than ever.
With 42 years of conceptual continuity through distinction, KMFDM declare themselves the ENEMY—a direct challenge to hypocrisy, discrimination, and systemic decay. The album is helmed by the songwriting and vocal command of Konietzko and Cifarelli, driven by the percussive assault of Andy Selway, and now reinforced by London-based guitarist Tidor Nieddu, whose vivid six-string attack injects fresh aggression into the KMFDM arsenal.
Adding another striking dimension, Annabella Konietzko appears on the explosive track “YOÜ,” marking her songwriting debut with the band after mesmerizing audiences during the 40th anniversary tour.
Musical Warfare Across the Tracklist
ENEMY is stylistically fearless—biting satire, political venom, and dancefloor-ready brutality collide across its runtime:
Dance/rock melodicism: OUBLIETTE
Dark industrial grooves: CATCH & KILL
Thrash satire: OUTERNATIONAL INTERVENTION
Vicious industrial metal: L’ETAT
Funk-driven menace: VAMPYR
Dub-laced defiance: STRAY BULLET 2.0
KMFDM continues to move—dancing on the blood-dimmed tide, roaring against a world that demands ignorance over awareness.

Legacy of the Ultra Heavy Beat
Founded in Hamburg in 1984 by Sascha Konietzko, KMFDM carved a singular path through industrial rock—combining confrontational politics, abrasive electronics, and undeniable hooks. Early releases in Germany led to U.S. success through Wax Trax! Records, with the 1990s cementing their legacy via hits like “Juke Joint Jezebel” and soundtrack placements in Bad Boys and Mortal Kombat.
Bands such as Rammstein and Korn cut their teeth opening on KMFDM tours. After a brief hiatus in 1999, the band re-emerged on Metropolis Records with Lucia Cifarelli, continuing a relentless cycle of releases and tours. Their most recent album, LET GO (2024), capped a 40-year legacy, followed by a remixed and remastered edition of HAU RUCK in 2025.
KMFDM are back in full combat mode. The legendary industrial rock architects have unleashed “OUBLIETTE”, the first single from their upcoming 24th studio album, ENEMY—a release that reaffirms their role as permanent agitators in a world spiraling toward controlled amnesia and authoritarian comfort.
Released on December 12, 2025 via Metropolis Records, “OUBLIETTE” is available in WAV, MP3, streaming formats, and on Bandcamp, and serves as the opening salvo for what promises to be one of the band’s most confrontational chapters yet.
“OUBLIETTE”: A Place to Be Forgotten 🩸
Derived from the French word oublier (“to forget”), an oubliette is a dungeon accessible only through a trapdoor above—designed to erase its victims from memory entirely. From KMFDM’s perspective, it’s a perfect metaphor.
“A place to be forgotten. What nobody sees, nobody knows.”
Musically, “OUBLIETTE” balances dance-rock propulsion with razor-edged industrial force, setting the tone for ENEMY’s themes of erasure, control, and resistance in an age where truth is buried on purpose.
ENEMY: 42 Years of Defiance, Sharpened 🔥
Set for release on February 6, 2026, ENEMY arrives just weeks before KMFDM launch a previously announced and nearly sold-out European tour. The album is available as 2xLP, CD, and digital, with Bandcamp pre-orders live now.
Society may be unraveling, but KMFDM remain resolute. Forty-two years deep into their legacy, the Ultra Heavy Beat still rises to confront fascism, hypocrisy, and systemic decay—louder and more dangerous than ever.
Lineup: Power, Precision, and New Blood ⚙️
Still commanded by Sascha “Käpt’n K” Konietzko (songwriting, vocals) and Lucia Cifarelli (vocals, songwriting), KMFDM continue their sonic assault with the percussive force of Andy Selway. The current incarnation is further energized by Tidor Nieddu, a London-based guitarist injecting bold new textures and bite.
Following her standout performance of “Professional Killer” during the 40th anniversary tour, Annabella Konietzko makes a powerful return on the explosive track “YOÜ”, marking her official songwriting debut with the band.
A Brutal, Uncompromising Album Statement 💀
Never content with repetition, ENEMY stands among KMFDM’s most stylistically daring and politically scathing releases:
The dance-rock menace of “OUBLIETTE”
The shadowed grooves of “CATCH & KILL”
The satirical thrash of “OUTERNATIONAL INTERVENTION”
The vicious industrial metal of “L’ETAT”
The dark funk pulse of “VAMPYR”
The sly dub swagger of “STRAY BULLET 2.0”
KMFDM don’t retreat—they advance, roaring against a culture that demands silence and submission. The message is clear: join the Ultra Heavy Beat, or become the ENEMY.
DAWN OF ASHES Announce Their Next Chapter: Reinfecting the Scars 💀🔥
Dawn of Ashes emerge once more from the void with a devastating new era, officially announcing Reinfecting the Scars, a violent and ambitious expansion of their blackened industrial legacy. A band already synonymous with cinematic horror, electronic brutality, and extreme metal intensity, Dawn of Ashes now returns with a release that digs deeper into their mythology — reopening old wounds only to infect them anew.
Built on the foundation of Infecting the Scars and Scars of the Broken, this new chapter accelerates the band’s evolution. The new material fuses serrated electronics, ritual-heavy atmospheres, and suffocating aggression into a sound engineered for both internal destruction and external domination. This is Dawn of Ashes at their most sharpened, their most emotionally charged, and their most sonically dangerous.
A Resurrection of Fury
For long-time followers, Reinfecting the Scars feels like a resurrection of the darker DOA eras — reimagined through modern production and a more vicious narrative voice. For those newly stepping into their world, this is the perfect initiation: a chance to witness one of industrial metal’s most enduring forces in full, unrestrained form.
Kristof Bathory continues to push the band’s thematic universe into deeper psychological territory. The release explores trauma, spiritual rot, and transformation through darkness — themes that have defined Dawn of Ashes since their inception but now manifest with even greater clarity and intention. Musically, the band drops listeners into a corrupted ritual space: trance-like ambience suddenly exploding into blast-beat violence, mechanical synth strikes, and guttural proclamations from the abyss.
The DOA Ascension
Sonically, fans can expect a perfect storm of industrial metal, aggrotech, atmospheric blackened textures, and hybridized cinematic sound design. DOA’s ability to merge genres without losing identity is on full display here — a further evolution of their signature aesthetic, sharpened by years of performance, experimentation, and spiritual excavation.
As Dawn of Ashes continue to dominate festival stages and underground circles alike, this new release feels like a culmination — and a new beginning. Reinfecting the Scars isn’t nostalgia. It’s transformation. It’s escalation. It’s the next mutation of a band built on blood, nightmares, and visionary sonic violence.
When the scars reopen, the question is simple: Will you turn away — or lean in closer?
U.S. electro-industrial act genCAB rises from the depths once more with their haunting new single, “Open Grave,” out now via Metropolis Records. Released on October 31, 2025, this brooding club anthem drags listeners into a confessional spiral of self-sabotage, decay, and emotional dissection—set to a driving, dancefloor-ready beat.
💿 Includes:
Open Grave
Open Grave (Unsolved Remix by Lost Signal)
Last (Nine Inch Nails cover)
🩸 A Dance with Self-Destruction
“The song explores the decay of our own undoing. I’m a self-destructive person, and ‘Open Grave’ is about lying in my own mess that I create for myself,” confesses David Dutton, the creative force behind genCAB.
Dutton adds, “Most of the advice we get is to keep our inner pain hidden, so we isolate further. This song is me laying that pain bare—for anyone to hear, whenever they need it. It’s more accessible than my past work, but it carries a message that’s universal. Sometimes life is just a dance track and an outlet to lose yourself. Who knows what’s left when you tear yourself apart—but at least it’s honest.”
⚙️ genCAB’s Sonic Evolution
Since their 2008 debut II transMuter, genCAB has been a force in the darker corners of electronic music, expertly merging EBM, synth-pop, and alternative rock. After a long hiatus that saw Dutton and drummer Tim Van Horn touring with Aesthetic Perfection, genCAB returned in 2022 with Thoughts Beyond Words and the Everything You See Is Mine EP—showcasing a renewed energy and emotional intensity.
Their 2023 Metropolis release Signature Flaws introduced dreamlike shoegaze and post-hardcore influences, while 2024’s III I II (THIRD EYE GEMINI) reimagined and expanded upon their earliest material with modern, atmospheric depth. Now, Open Grave continues that evolution—melding catharsis with rhythm, and ruin with revelation.
The long-dormant U.S. electro-industrial powerhouse Flesh Field has returned once again, unleashing a fully remastered edition of their 2001 classic Belief Control. Released via Metropolis Records on October 31, 2025, this updated version breathes new life into one of the genre’s most influential releases.
🔥 Includes the singles:
Allegiance 2025
The Truth Within
⚙️ A Legacy of Power and Precision
Originally founded in 1996 by Ian Ross in Columbus, Ohio, Flesh Field quickly carved their identity with a fusion of intricate programming, dark symphonic textures, and emotional ferocity. Their debut, Viral Extinction (1999), announced their arrival in the underground, while 2001’s Belief Control took their sound to a new level — merging bombastic orchestration with machine-driven aggression.
The album’s success led to a partnership with Metropolis Records, which handled U.S. distribution for their next full-length, Strain. The record’s expanded instrumentation—featuring layered guitars, choral elements, and thunderous percussion—cemented Flesh Field’s place among industrial music’s elite.
🧠 Silence, Then Rebirth
After nearly two decades of inactivity, Ross reignited Flesh Field with the politically charged 2023 concept album Voice Of The Echo Chamber, followed by the Voice Of Reason EP in 2024. Both releases marked a creative resurgence and paved the way for a comprehensive remaster campaign through Metropolis.
The Belief Control (2025 Edition) follows the June reissue of Viral Extinction, with the full Flesh Field discography set for remastered release in the coming months. Even more thrilling—Ross has confirmed that a brand-new Flesh Field album is nearing completion.
The legendary Icon of Coil return with a remastered reissue of their groundbreaking debut, Serenity Is The Devil, marking 25 years since the album that helped define the futurepop and EBM movement.
“This digitally enhanced remaster sounds slicker and still has that heady EBM vibe their fans covet and the band are famous for, with accessible, melodic and brooding vocals.” — Devolution
“One of the most influential acts in the dark electronic genre, with vibes of a souped-up Bauhaus or Peter Murphy on acid.” — Penny Black Music
“This release will transport you to the year 2000! An incomparable sound that conjures up memories of dance-through nights and one’s own youth.” — Orkus
Formed in 1997 by Andy LaPlegua (later of Combichrist), Icon of Coil quickly evolved from a solo project into a full-fledged powerhouse with Sebastian Komor and Christian Lund joining soon after. Their blend of driving beats, melodic synths, and brooding vocals set a new benchmark for dark electronic music.
Their debut Serenity Is The Devil (2000) soared to the Top 3 on the German DAC Alternative Chart, followed by The Soul Is In The Software (2002), which claimed No. 1. By the time Machines Are Us (2004) dropped, the trio had firmly cemented their status among the greats — alongside VNV Nation and Covenant — touring across Europe and North America with unmatched intensity.
Now, the 25th Anniversary Edition of Serenity Is The Devil brings the original energy roaring back with enhanced digital clarity and an exclusive unreleased track, “SEC FOUR.”

Today, darkwave and synthpop powerhouse Brittany Bindrim drops her new full-length Counterpoison, a record that radiates cinematic tension, propulsive beats, and raw emotion. This latest release marks a fierce, faster-paced evolution from her 2024 debut Velella Velella, diving headfirst into the shadows of duality, resistance, and renewal.
🔥 A Transformation Through Sound At its core, Counterpoison is a story of transformation — an antidote for the toxins that corrode us both personally and collectively. The album embodies the concept of art as alchemy, turning pain, betrayal, and societal decay into fuel for empowerment and rebirth.
🎛 Sonic Craftsmanship Written and performed by Bindrim herself, the album was produced and mixed by Matt McJunkins (A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Eagles of Death Metal, Poppy) and mastered by Ken “Hiwatt” Marshall. The result? A visceral, high-voltage soundscape pulsing with cinematic grandeur and industrial precision.
💿 Out Now Counterpoison is available today on limited edition vinyl, CD, and across all digital and streaming platforms. Bindrim will also bring the album’s dark energy to life through select performances in Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles.
Electro-industrial and synth-pop icon Assemblage 23 — the project of Tom Shear — returns with “Believe,” the powerful new single from the upcoming album Null, out November 7th, 2025 via Metropolis Records.
✨ Finding Light in the Static “This song is about believing that there is hope for better things, even with the state of the world as it is today,” explains Shear. “We are responsible for making the kind of world we live in. In the face of bad times, sometimes the most subversive thing you can do is have hope.”
“Believe” marks the second single from Null — Assemblage 23’s tenth studio album and the long-awaited follow-up to 2020’s Mourn. The record also features the recent single “Tolerate” and showcases Shear’s trademark fusion of melodic precision, emotional resonance, and electronic craftsmanship that has defined his two-decade legacy in the dark electronic scene.
💀 Legacy of Innovation and Emotion Since emerging with Contempt at the turn of the millennium, Assemblage 23 has remained a defining force in futurepop, breaking from European dominance with emotionally charged songwriting and razor-sharp production. Shear’s lyrics — often touching on themes of loss, depression, resilience, and hope — have built a deeply loyal following and continue to resonate across generations of listeners.
German dark electro-pop visionaries ROTERSAND have dropped not one but two electrifying singles — “It Was Night” (released September 5th) and “Train” (out now, October 3rd) — further expanding the digital edition of their latest full-length album Don’t Become The Thing You Hated. Both tracks were previously available only on the CD version and are now streaming globally.
The new material continues the duo’s signature balance of brooding atmosphere and intelligent rhythm, uniting philosophical reflection with sharp-edged electronic craftsmanship. These songs arrive as part of the ongoing evolution of Rascal Nikov (vocals, electronics) and Krischan Jan-Eric Wesenberg (electronics), whose work has long blurred the lines between dancefloor power and emotional introspection.
💀 A Dark Reflection of Modern Times Following their previous singles “Private Firmament (I Fell For You)” and “Sexiness of Slow,” the album stands as both a cultural critique and a sonic manifesto. Don’t Become The Thing You Hated captures the existential unease of an era defined by division and disillusionment. ROTERSAND uses their trademark precision sound design to question how, in fighting oppression and ignorance, one might risk adopting the same destructive tendencies they resist.
Their latest offerings—“It Was Night” and “Train”—fuse propulsive industrial-electronic energy with haunting melodic beauty. The result is a sound both intellectual and visceral: densely layered synthscapes, crisp percussion, and an emotive tension that mirrors the contradictions of our age.
💀 The Message Beneath the Machines Lyrically, these songs extend the philosophical pulse of the album—inviting listeners to reflect on complicity, anger, and empathy in a world that thrives on chaos. ROTERSAND’s latest work doesn’t just provide a soundtrack for dark nights of the soul—it demands introspection, calling for vigilance against the forces that distort truth and erode identity.
🖤 Don’t Become The Thing You Hated — Out Now Tracklisting:
US drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and electronic alchemist Rona Rougeheart returns with her project SINE, unveiling the brand-new single “Succumb To Me” via Metropolis Records on September 26, 2025.
🎶 Industrial Meets Dirty Disco
Co-produced alongside Curse Mackey (Pigface) and mastered by Mark Pistel (Consolidated, Meat Beat Manifesto), “Succumb To Me” blends industrial grit, dirty disco grooves, and seismic sub-bass into what Rougeheart defines as her signature style: electronic boom.
Rougeheart explains: “While working on my next album, I decided to start something fresh just for fun. I anchored the track around two deep synth bass hits that pan left and right for a surround sound feel—especially in headphones. The lyrics practically wrote themselves, cheeky and a little sinister, with a dash of sex appeal. It’s one of my favorite SINE tracks to date.”
🌑 Momentum Rising
SINE officially joined the Metropolis Records roster in 2024 with the single “Trauma Bondage.” Since then, Rougeheart has been steadily building momentum—touring North America with Void Palace and Clan of Xymox, and recently performing at Cold Waves XIII in her hometown of Austin on September 19, 2025. Work is already underway on a full-length album expected in 2026.
🎶 Listen Now:
🧬 Rona Rougeheart: The Force Behind SINE
Born in New York and now based in Austin, Rougeheart grew up surrounded by music, guided by her father who taught her guitar and keyboards before she gravitated to drums. She’s endorsed by Gretsch Drums, Gibraltar Hardware, and Roland.
Her impressive collaborations span the underground and avant-garde, including work with Bauhaus’ David J, Curse Mackey, Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Adrian Sherwood, Meat Beat Manifesto, Clan of Xymox, Chris Connelly (Pigface, Revolting Cocks), Andee Blacksugar (KMFDM, Blondie), Xiu Xiu, and the late Mark Stewart (The Pop Group).
The US electro-industrial act Flesh Field, led by founder Ian Ross, has just released a new single, “Allegiance.” This 2025 remastered version of the song is a taste of the forthcoming reissue of the group’s second album, Belief Control, which is set for release on October 31, 2025, via Metropolis Records.
This remastered version of “Allegiance” continues the momentum of Flesh Field’s resurrection. The group returned to the scene in 2023 with the new album Voice Of The Echo Chamber, followed by the Voice Of Reason EP in early 2024. In June 2025, they reissued a remastered version of their 1999 debut, Viral Extinction, as part of Metropolis Records’ plan to re-release the entire back catalog.
Originally released in 2001, Belief Control solidified Flesh Field’s status in the electro-industrial scene with its bombastic symphonic elements and intricate programming. After a hiatus that lasted nearly two decades, the band’s music remained relevant, appearing in TV shows like True Blood and video games like Project Gotham Racing.
US electro-industrial/synth-pop artist Tom Shear, known as Assemblage 23, has just released his new single, “Tolerate.” The track, out today via Metropolis Records, is the first single from his highly anticipated tenth studio album, NULL. The new album is set to release on November 7, 2025.
The song delves into a deeply topical subject. According to Shear, “Tolerate” is about “the increasingly common situation of having to cut people out of your life because they hold harmful beliefs.” The track is a powerful reflection on the current political climate and its personal fallout, continuing Shear’s tradition of exploring complex and relatable lyrical themes.
Known for his role in establishing the “Future Pop” movement, Shear has built a significant worldwide following. To promote the new album, Assemblage 23 will embark on a UK tour in October, immediately followed by a show in Germany.

The electro-industrial classic returns June 27th via Metropolis Records
Flesh Field resurrects its monumental debut, Viral Extinction, now fully remastered and available once again to ignite speakers and summon shadows. Originally released in 1999, the album fused cinematic electronics, fierce guitar work, militant percussion, and choral samples into a signature sound that pushed the boundaries of industrial music.
📅 Viral Extinction returns on June 27th, 2025, via Metropolis Records and includes the haunting new single:
🎧 “Where Angels Go to Die” — a darkly angelic descent into spiritual decay, described by Ian Ross as “apocalyptic in language, but musically designed to feel beautifully bleak.”
Formed by Ian Ross in Columbus, Ohio in 1996, Flesh Field erupted onto the scene with an aggressive yet orchestrally grand vision of electro-industrial. Their debut, Viral Extinction, quickly earned attention for its layered textures and dramatic sonic architecture—setting a benchmark for dark electronic music at the turn of the millennium.
After releasing the Redemption remix EP in 2000 and the critically lauded albums Belief Control (2001) and Strain (2004), the project went silent. Despite that, Flesh Field’s music endured—appearing in the soundtracks of True Blood, The Mill, and Project Gotham Racing.
Ross eventually reemerged in 2023 with the concept album Voice of the Echo Chamber, examining the psychology of political radicalization. A companion EP, Voice of Reason, followed in 2024.
Now, 25 years after its initial release, Viral Extinction is reborn—remastered and once again relevant in a world teetering on its own digital precipice.

The track marks the band’s first fresh material in seven years and serves as the lead single from their upcoming album More Of Less, due out July 25th on LP, CD, and digital formats.
“‘White Noise’ is a song about feeling unheard,” explains founding member Eric Powell, who signed his first record deal back in 1991 as a teenager. “When your voice gets drowned out and it seems like no one is listening to you— to others, you become just white noise, that static sound of nothingness.”
The track arrives just weeks after the band’s 1993 debut Wisdom was issued on vinyl for the first time—selling out immediately. Powell officially revived 16VOLT in 2024 with Negative On Arrivals, a retrospective release compiling tracks from their 2016 and 2017 albums.

Emerging from the early ‘90s industrial scene, 16VOLT quickly made their mark with albums like Wisdom, Skin, and LetDownCrush, working with genre-defining producers like David Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy), Keith “Fluffy” Auerbach (Ministry), and Jeff “Critter” Newell (NIN, blink-182).
Despite industry setbacks—including legal clashes during the release of SuperCoolNothing—Powell’s tenacity paid off. He bought back the rights to the album and brokered a deal with Sony to feature it in the cult PlayStation game Primal.
By the 2000s, 16VOLT was deep in the Metropolis Records era, releasing powerhouse records like FullBlackHabit, American Porn Songs, and Beating Dead Horses, which featured guests like Paul Raven (Killing Joke, Prong), Steve White (KMFDM), and mix engineer Shaun Thingvold (Strapping Young Lad).
The band’s genre-defiant style and visceral live shows earned them tours with heavyweights like Korn, Filter, Prong, Revolting Cocks, Stabbing Westward, and Front 242.
The Greek synth duo Paradox Obscur, comprised of Kriistal Ann and Toxic Razor, has just released their new single, “Switch To Love,” available today, June 7th, 2025. This captivating track is the second single from their upcoming album, IKONA, which is set for release on September 12th via Metropolis Records.
“Switch To Love” is accompanied by an atmospheric neo-noir music video, shot entirely on 16mm film and directed by Venezuelan filmmaker Mariangela Pluchino, with cinematography by Ville Piippo from Finland. The result is a visually compelling piece that pays homage to love, set against the band’s signature retro synthwave soundscape and elevated by the expressive and haunting vocals of Kriistal Ann.
“Switch To Love” follows their late April release, “Lose This Feeling,” a dreamily nostalgic synth-oriented reinterpretation of a 2023 dance anthem by Dutch DJ and producer Armin van Buuren.

IKONA is the duo’s most expressionistic work to date, blending sound experiments, wide-ranging electronic influences, and deeply personal expression to craft a sonic identity that remains distinctly their own. They have once again composed and recorded in real time using synthesizers and drum machines, preserving the classic essence of contemporary electronic music while forging a uniquely timeless aesthetic.
Paradox Obscur is celebrated for their authentic, analog-driven sound. Eschewing computers and digital plugins, they create all of their music in real time using hardware synthesizers and drum machines, delivering a raw and immersive listening experience. While rooted in the spirit of ‘80s-’90s underground music, their unique blend of haunting melodies, driving rhythms, and cinematic atmosphere appeals to a wide range of listeners, regardless of genre preference. Their music transcends commercial boundaries, offering something for both devoted electronic fans and casual listeners alike.
DAWN OF ASHES has unleashed their brand new album, “Infecting The Scars,” which is available everywhere today, June 7th, 2025! The highly anticipated release sees Kristof Bathory return the project to its aggrotech roots while pushing forward with a new level of intensity and maturity.
“Full of dark songs and deathly imagery, brought to life by demonic vocals. It’s vampiric, it’s black metal, it’s post-industrial witchcraft, driven by an infectious electronic groove. Very moreish indeed,” praises DEVOLUTION MAGAZINE (UK). ORKUS (DE) hails it as: “Past meets future on an electronic industrial metal delight that will get you on the dance floor. Each of the ten tracks can certainly hit the clubs like a bomb.” VERDAMMNIS (FR) concurs: “Refuses to stagnate while continuing to explore its universe and themes with coherence, intelligence, panache, care and personality. Blends the enthusiasm of youth with a current know-how to make aggrotech great again!”
Stream “Infecting The Scars” now on your preferred platform or via Bandcamp.
Dawn Of Ashes was founded in Los Angeles by Kristof Bathory at the turn of the millennium, the group moniker he chose suggesting ‘the beginning of the end’. Emerging from the industrial and aggrotech genres before expanding into the blackened metal and extreme industrial scenes, Bathory and his band have been a relentless force ever since, evolving and redefining the boundaries of extreme music for over two decades.
“Infecting The Scars” marks a rebirth, fusing the raw, unfiltered aggression of the past with a refined and evolved sound. Lyrically and sonically, it sees them reach a level where the songs are no longer merely anthems of destruction, but rather an exploration of psychological horror, inner demons, and the scars left behind by life’s most brutal moments. The album includes the powerful track “Visceral Rage” with an accompanying lyric video.
Embodying this evolution, the track “Hypertensive Crisis” was issued ahead of the album. It was described by Bathory as “a deliberate attempt to recapture the nostalgia of our early era while seamlessly blending it with fresh, modern elements. It showcases a fully realised version of our classic sound, reimagined with a new intensity and depth.”
A recent relocation to Denmark has also seen Dawn Of Ashes set to expand its reach, bringing the group’s visceral live performances to new territories. European tour dates are currently in the works alongside planned shows in South America, promising a global assault of chaos and horror.
The German dark electro-pop duo Rotersand has just released their new single, “Private Firmament (I Fell For You),” available today, June 7th, 2025. This powerful track serves as a preview of their highly anticipated new album, “Don’t Become The Thing You Hated,” set for release on August 8th via Metropolis Records (North America) and Trisol (Rest of World). This will be their first full-length studio record since How Do You Feel Today? in March 2020.
Explaining the meaning behind the new single, the band states: “Human nature is not binary, but algorithm-induced communication forces us to choose virtual sides to stimulate emotions and click rates. Yes or no, black or white, for or against, one or the other. Ultimately, we sit in our post-fact, post-science, post-truth private firmaments with nothing in common other than the cold light of screens pretending to shine for us. We say, leave the private firmaments and dance with us, with real faces under real stars.”
‘Don’t Become the Thing You Hated’ sees the Hamburg-based act (comprised of Rascal Nikov and Krischan Jan-Eric Wesenberg) return with an album that is as much a cultural critique as it is a musical statement. In a world increasingly defined by division, alienation, and existential anxiety, the duo casts a sharp eye on the psychological toll of our times and issues a warning. The message is clear: in fighting what we oppose, we risk becoming it ourselves.
Musically, the album is a masterclass in synthesis, melding sonic sophistication with visceral emotional impact. Navigating seamlessly between intricate sound design and tightly constructed rhythmic frameworks, these are layered with melodic hooks that are as intellectually engaging as they are dancefloor-ready. The album soundscape is dark yet resolutely hopeful and explores a dynamic spectrum of styles, from propulsive electro with surgically crisp beats and brooding industrial textures to anthemic, almost dreamlike interludes. Each track reveals itself as a meticulously crafted entity, constantly surprising the listener yet never straying from its emotional nucleus.
The song lyrics address themes of disillusionment, anger, and the fragile line between resistance and complicity. Indeed, the album title itself functions as a thesis statement that confronts listeners with a central dilemma of our era – how do we oppose injustice without replicating its methods or mindset? Rotersand offer no easy answers, but instead encourage a kind of inner vigilance; a conscious rejection of the very forces that threaten to erode empathy, nuance, and individual integrity.
What sets this album apart is its rare ability to operate on multiple levels. Not only is it a compelling club record, it is also a philosophical commentary on the state of the world and the psyche. The duo have crafted a work that challenges the listener to not only hear, but to think and feel more deeply. With ‘Don’t Become the Thing You Hated’, they reaffirm their position as one of the most thoughtful and forward-looking acts in the dark electronic music genre.
FLESH FIELD, the acclaimed electro-industrial project led by Ian Ross, has just released a new single, “Where Angels Go To Die,” out today, May 30th. This track is lifted from a remastered reissue of their 1999 debut album, “Viral Extinction,” which is set to arrive on June 27th via Metropolis Records.
“It was written in apocalyptic language as a bleak reflection on disillusionment, spiritual decay and loss of belief,” Ross reflects. “Musically, however, it was designed to sound darkly angelic.”

About FLESH FIELD:
Flesh Field was founded in Ohio in the mid-90s by composer Ian Ross. Renowned for its widescreen cinematic sound achieved by blending synths, percussion, guitar, and sampled choir, the group’s music soon earned plaudits for its aggressive approach and subsequently featured in a number of film/TV soundtracks and video games. Having retired the name in 2011, Ross eventually relocated to Virginia, where he resurrected Flesh Field to issue an album entitled ‘Voice of the Echo Chamber’ in late 2023 and the companion piece ‘Voice Of Reason’ EP in April 2024.
Their debut album, ‘Viral Extinction’, was released three years later, earning glowing reviews for its brutal and aggressive sound, while some of its songs were subsequently remixed by several contemporaries (including scene leaders Covenant) and issued together with some new songs on the album-length ‘Redemption’ EP in 2000.
Highlighting the band’s compositional skills with bombastic symphonic elements and intricate synth and percussion programming, 2001’s ‘Belief Control’ solidified Flesh Field’s status as a band to be reckoned with. It also led to the group signing to Metropolis Records for the US release of their third album, ‘Strain’. With new layers of acoustic and electronic percussion, guitar, and choral effects added into the mix, these elements resulted in an an epic and anthemic feel to a record that was acclaimed by fans and critics alike.
Then, silence. For almost two decades, Flesh Field lay dormant, even as numerous tracks from their catalog were placed in the soundtracks of films including ‘The Mill’, TV shows such as ‘True Blood’, and video games like ‘Project Gotham Racing’. ‘Voice Of The Echo Chamber’ suddenly appeared in 2023; a concept work with each of its ten tracks representing stages of political radicalization and violence, it was followed by an album length companion piece EP entitled ‘Voice Of Reason’.

CHAMELEONS have today, May 29th, released their brand new single, ‘Saviours Are A Dangerous Thing,’ via Metropolis Records. The track is taken from their recently announced and long-awaited album, ‘Arctic Moon,’ which is now available for pre-order.
Vocalist/bassist Vox (Mark Burgess) explains the inspiration behind the new single: “I see too many echoes of the 1930s in what’s going on in the world, which I see as being extremely dangerous both for the country I’ve chosen to live in and the Western world in general.” He adds, “It was the last song to be completed for the album. I’m particularly pleased with the way it turned out, because it was our guitarist Stephen Rice who initially brought the rough idea to the table and we all then collaborated on it to produce the final song.”
‘Saviours Are A Dangerous Thing’ perfectly captures Chameleons’ innate flair for crafting exquisite guitar textures, merging them with Vox’s sharp grasp of melody and wordplay. The song delivers a dark message about the current political climate amidst its thoroughly engaging sound. Reinforcing this theme, the accompanying video splices live performance footage with kaleidoscopic images of war, its effects, and the surrounding propaganda, creating a compelling statement.
“The lyrics came to me quite quickly,” Vox explains. “They reflect what has been happening globally and how senior officials line up to kiss the rings of clowns who regard themselves as self-proclaimed kings rather than elected statesmen.”
‘Arctic Moon,’ set for release on September 12th on Metropolis Records, marks the first full-length album by Chameleons since 2001’s ‘Why Call It Anything?’ Vox concludes, “There is an obvious maturity to the songwriting on this record, and anyone familiar with our past work will hear that this is a positive step forward. While we’re proud of the band’s legacy, we really wanted to forge something fresh while retaining that profound and imaginative quality we’re known for. We think that we have managed to do that and deliver a very strong record!”
The band will continue to tour extensively around the album release, with dates in Spain and Portugal from June 6th-19th, followed by a set at the Forever Now festival in Milton Keynes on June 22nd. They will then return to the US for headlining shows and a dozen dates with The Psychedelic Furs commencing on June 26th. A further headlining tour of North American cities kicks off two weeks after the release of ‘Arctic Moon’, with mainland European dates in Germany and the Benelux scheduled from late October, ahead of a previously announced UK tour in November.
Long cited as a hugely influential act, inspiring bands like (The) Verve, Oasis, Interpol, The Killers, Editors, and White Lies, Chameleons are renowned for their transformative catalog and intense, emotionally charged live performances. Their legacy extends far beyond their four studio albums to date. Their widely acclaimed debut, ‘Script of the Bridge’ (1983), has been cited by many as a masterpiece ahead of its time, followed by ‘What Does Anything Mean? Basically!’ (1984), ‘Strange Times’ (1986), and ‘Why Call It Anything?’ (2001).
Their unique sound quickly captivated audiences with its mix of melancholic yet energetic and powerful tunes, hypnotic, ethereal riffs, and a potent, timeless lyrical style. They are considered one of the most influential guitar bands of the ‘80s and ‘90s, contributing substantially to the post-punk, shoegaze, and indie scenes.
2024 saw the release of two EPs that kicked off a new chapter for the band: ‘Where Are You?’, consisting of three new songs, and ‘Tomorrow Remember Yesterday,’ featuring five re-recorded archive tracks. ‘Arctic Moon’ sees them propelling forward musically while retaining the essence that originally made them iconic.
KMFDM is set to re-release their classic fourteenth album, “HAU RUCK,” on May 23rd, 2025, via Metropolis Records. This special 20th-anniversary edition, titled “HAU RUCK 2025,” has been completely remixed and remastered, and will be available on 2xLP, CD, and digital formats. Fans can get an early taste with the newly available audio for ‘FREE YOUR HATE’.
The original “HAU RUCK” was recorded in Seattle and released in 2005. Following their industrial/metal assault with 2003’s ‘WWIII’, KMFDM sought a fresh direction. Band leader Sascha Konietzko expressed the desire for something “more noisy, more dance-y, more electronic, and less butt rock.” The album’s concept was playfully dubbed FUBAR – ‘Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition/Repair’ – reflecting their aim to push boundaries.
From the politically charged anthems of ‘Free Your Hate’ and ‘New American Century’ to the grimly emotional grooves of ‘Real Thing’; from the confrontational dancefloor venom of ‘Ready to Blow’ and ‘Professional Killer’; and encompassing a swinging cover of Jacques Dutronc’s ‘Mini Mini Mini’ and the self-effacing snark of ‘Feed Our Fame’, the album proved anything but FUBAR. It showcased KMFDM at its most concentrated, sharply focused, and aggressive, imploring audiences to fight corruption and embrace individuality. The powerful German phrase ‘HAU RUCK’ (meaning ‘Heave Ho’) perfectly captured this defiant spirit.
Hamburg-based industrial rock pioneers KMFDM have carved out a unique path since their founding by Sascha ‘Käpt’n K’ Konietzko in 1984. They’ve continuously refined and redefined modern music while boldly addressing social and political issues. After early albums recorded in Germany, the band moved to the US and gained widespread recognition with Chicago-based Wax Trax! Records.
The 1990s saw KMFDM become a household name in the global industrial rock scene. Their 1995 hit ‘Juke Joint Jezebel’ propelled them onto the Billboard charts and earned them placements on film soundtracks like ‘Bad Boys’ and ‘Mortal Kombat’. Future titans such as Rammstein and Korn even started their careers opening for KMFDM tours.
After a hiatus in 1999 following their tenth album for Wax Trax!, Konietzko resurrected KMFDM three years later, signing with Metropolis Records. This new era featured American singer Lucia Cifarelli (from Drill) and Tim Skold (who later joined Marilyn Manson). Konietzko and Cifarelli returned to Germany in 2008 and have consistently recorded and toured. Their most recent album, ‘LET GO’, released in 2024, coincided with the group’s 40th anniversary.
The captivating electronic musician and vocalist Mari Kattman, known for her integral role in the duo Helix and her compelling solo work, unleashes her brand new single, “Sharp Shooter,” today, Friday, May 16th, 2025, via Metropolis Records. This electrifying track serves as the second tantalizing glimpse into her upcoming full-length solo debut for the label (and third overall), aptly titled “Year Of The Katt,” which is slated for release on June 20th.
“‘Sharp Shooter’ explores the theme of an intelligent soul that navigates to painful circumstances for the chance to grow. No shots missed,” states Kattman, hinting at the track’s blend of introspective depth and sonic precision. The single follows her recent release, “Anemia,” a track that drew a stark parallel between vampiric exploitation and the debilitating weakness often experienced by those living with the condition.
Regarding the upcoming “Year Of The Katt” album, Kattman reveals the intensely personal journey of its creation: “Finishing it was a truly herculean effort. It was an album completely recorded, composed and produced by myself, so there were a lot of learning curves and things I needed to sort out before I was truly happy with the end product. I feel relief and enormously proud that I got it done.” This self-sufficient approach underscores Kattman’s artistic vision and unwavering dedication to her craft.
A prominent figure in today’s electronic music landscape, Mari Kattman has been a dynamic force since 2012, consistently writing, recording, producing, and performing her unique sonic creations. Her impressive resume boasts collaborations with a veritable who’s who of the scene, including Assemblage 23, Mesh, Ivardensphere, Jean-Marc Lederman, Psy’Aviah, Aesthetiche, Neuroticfish, BlackCarBurning, Cassetter, This Morn Omina, Solitary Experiments, Mephisto Walz, Aiboforcen, and Interface, showcasing her remarkable vocal versatility.
However, Kattman’s extensive vocal contributions for these esteemed acts only hint at her own considerable talents as a songwriter and producer. Previous singles such as ‘Fever Shakes’, ‘URGOD.AI’ and ‘Swallow’ have already demonstrated her knack for crafting irresistibly catchy electronic songs, tailor-made for the dance floor, where elements of Trap, Hip Hop, Electro, Ambient, EBM, and Industrial music seamlessly intertwine with her powerfully distinctive voice. “Sharp Shooter” promises to be another bullseye in her expanding sonic arsenal, further solidifying her position as a compelling and innovative artist.

Los Angeles-founded industrial act DAWN OF ASHES, the project of Kristof Bathory since the turn of the millennium, has unleashed their new single, “HYPERTENSIVE CRISIS,” today, April 18th, 2025, via Metropolis Records.
Links to access the single are available for WAV, MP3, streaming platforms, Bandcamp, and the official music video on YouTube:
This new track is a precursor to their forthcoming album, “INFECTING THE SCARS,” set to be released on June 6th, 2025.
Formed with a moniker suggesting ‘the beginning of the end,’ Dawn Of Ashes initially emerged from the industrial and aggrotech scenes, later incorporating blackened metal and extreme industrial elements. For over two decades, Bathory and the band have consistently pushed the boundaries of extreme music.
Relocating to Denmark, the upcoming album “Infecting The Scars” marks a return to Dawn Of Ashes’ aggrotech roots, infused with a heightened level of intensity and maturity. It is described as a rebirth, blending past aggression with a refined modern sound. The lyrics and sound delve into psychological horror, inner turmoil, and the scars left by life’s harsh experiences, moving beyond mere destructive anthems.
Regarding the new single, “Hypertensive Crisis,” Kristof Bathory states it’s a conscious effort to “recapture the nostalgia of our early era while seamlessly blending it with fresh, modern elements. Evolution and maturity – both in sound and lyrics – are crucial to the creative process. Artistic growth has allowed this project to delve deeper, delivering more meaningful lyrics that evoke horror through the lens of psychosis. This song is a perfect example, showcasing a fully realised version of our classic sound, reimagined with a new intensity and depth.”
The move to Denmark also signals an expansion of Dawn Of Ashes’ live presence, with European tour dates in development alongside planned shows in Mexico, promising widespread chaos and horror.
