Dark Descent Records unleashes a debut forged from abyssal rage and extreme-metal DNA — where death, doom, and cosmic horror collide.
A New Force Crawls Out of the Catacombs ⚰️🔥
Dark Descent Records has released Ash Eclipses Flesh, the devastating debut album from Terror Corpse — and it’s already carving its name into the skull of the underground. The album officially arrives November 21, but you can dive into the abyss now and claim your copy below.
This record isn’t a gentle introduction. It’s a feral, bone-grinding assault crafted by members of:
Malignant Altar
Necrofier
Insect Warfare
It’s rare for a debut to feel this seasoned, this savage, and this sure of its identity — but Terror Corpse lands like a meteor crater.
The Sound: Flesh-Ripping Extremity in Its Purest Form 💀🔥
Ash Eclipses Flesh delivers:
Pulverizing riffs scorched in death metal fire
Blackened atmospheres thick enough to suffocate
Doom-dragging weight that feels apocalyptic
Blasts that hit like collapsing star systems
Vocals carved straight from the throat of the void
This is the kind of album that doesn’t just ask for your attention — it devours it.
Terror Corpse operate in the lineage of extremity, but they’re not copying their influences… They’re weaponizing them.
The Mythos: When Flesh Burns and Ash Speaks ☠️🌑
The album’s title is more than a phrase — it is a prophecy.
Within this record, flesh is temporary. Ash is eternal. And the cosmos doesn’t care who survives.
Terror Corpse channel a universe where decay is holy, violence is scripture, and the last remaining heartbeat is swallowed by cosmic dust.
Their debut is not just an album. It’s a funeral pyre.
Dark Descent Records: Keepers of the Abyss ⚙️
Dark Descent continues to stand as one of extreme metal’s most respected and uncompromising labels — releasing music that prioritizes atmosphere, brutality, and authenticity over trend-chasing. Terror Corpse is the next monster added to their ever-expanding crypt.
Seattle’s Degraved invades the death metal underground with their full-length debut “Spectral Realm of Ruin,” embracing the grime of ’90s fury and modern sonic decay.
The Assault Begins
The album dropped on November 14, 2025 via Dark Descent Records and the co-label Me Saco Un Ojo. Dark Descent Records+2Dark Descent Records+2 Degraved’s circuitous path from demos and EPs to this full-blown eruption finds them harnessing the raw energy of early death metal and injecting it with a biting edge. Dark Descent Records+1
What to Expect
Soundscape: Blast beats, cavernous guitars, snarled vocals soaked in morbidity — Degraved mix furious brutality with eerie atmosphere. Degraved+1
Influences: You’ll hear echoes of Morbid Angel, Immolation, and the raw “old school death metal” spirit. Degraved
Key tracks: “Pariah of Death & Darkness”, “Sulfuric Embalming” and “Unseen” are standout moments that deliver both speed and menace. Dark Descent Records+1
Production: Recorded at their home studio, mixed with the grime intact — no polish kills the character. Degraved
Degraved aren’t reinventing death metal — they’re re-invigorating it. That’s the hook: this is a band that doesn’t care about trends, cares about tearing flesh with riffs. As one review puts it:

Dark Descent Records drops brutal news on the underground metal world
🔥 A Ruthless New Chapter Begins The queens of death metal carnage, Castrator, are back with a blood-soaked vengeance. Dark Descent Records has just announced the band’s newest album, Coronation of the Grotesque — a follow-up destined to leave no flesh unscathed.
💀 Brutality Refined, Feminine Fury Unleashed Known for their unrelenting old-school death metal assault and unapologetic lyrical venom, Castrator’s latest effort looks to be their most ferocious yet. Though details remain grimly minimal, the title Coronation of the Grotesque promises a reign soaked in gore, power, and retribution.
👑 Still Reigning Supreme Following their 2022 full-length Defiled in Oblivion, this new chapter reaffirms Castrator’s place among the most vital forces in death metal today — crushing boundaries and patriarchal bones alike.
Metal Blade Records is thrilled to welcome Tasmanian death metal behemoths PSYCROPTIC to its esteemed roster for the release of their forthcoming new full-length album. To mark the occasion, the band has just unleashed their new video and single, “Architects Of Extinction.”
PSYCROPTIC stands as Australia’s most globally respected death metal act for a quarter-century. When the history of technical metal is written, PSYCROPTIC will undoubtedly claim a hefty chapter. They carved their path into the underground in the late ’90s and have consistently pushed the genre forward with their dense riff jungles, bursting into powerfully rhythmic grooves and blasts. The profound talent of brothers Joe (guitar) and Dave Haley (drums) anchors their sound. Joe’s esoteric picking style weaves hooks that ensnare listeners, while Dave’s pulsating rhythms provide the backbone. Their level of synchronization is unparalleled, a testament to decades of playing together. The telepathic performance is only matched by the precise contributions of Todd Stern on bass and the charismatic roar of Jason Peppiatt. Like true masters, they make the impossible look impossibly easy.
Guitarist Joe Haley comments on the signing: “Having grown up listening to countless amazing bands on the Metal Blade roster, the label had a big impact on shaping who we are as musicians, essentially becoming an integral part of our creative DNA. From the early days of picking up our instruments to finding our own sound as a band, Metal Blade has always represented the pinnacle of heavy music and a place where groundbreaking artists are created and thrive. So we’re beyond honored to announce that we’re officially joining the Metal Blade family – a surreal and humbling moment for all of us in PSYCROPTIC. We’re currently in the final stages of finishing our new album, and we can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on. To kick off this awesome new chapter on the right note, we’re dropping our brand-new single, ‘Architects Of Extinction.’ Enjoy.”
Bassist Todd Stern adds, “As PSYCROPTIC prepares to release our ninth full-length studio album, we couldn’t be more excited about the fact that we’ve joined forces with the one and only Metal Blade Records, who will be handling its release. We feel that at this point in our career, both the timing and the fit are seemingly perfect. Metal Blade and its roster have always been exceptional, and we are very grateful and humbled to join such a legendary list of artists that have been part of the label’s family throughout the ages. We are adding the final touches on our next record, but in the meantime we have something savory prepared: a dense, hard-hitting single entitled ‘Architects Of Extinction.’ Get ready for the golden age of Tasmania’s most prolific metal band!”

Most bands take a few albums to find their feet, but PSYCROPTIC’s first two releases were underground classics: The Isle Of Disenchantment (2001, self-released) and The Scepter Of The Ancients (2003, Unique Leader). Vocalist Matthew Chalk and bassist Cameron Grant were part of the first squad who joined the Haleys on their quest for perfection. A relentless touring schedule emerged in Australia, including legendary appearances at Canberra’s Metal For The Brain festival. Normally this would be the high point for an Australian metal band. Two albums out, successful shows, who could ask for more?
Tasmania couldn’t contain them, and as it turned out, neither could Australia. Their first overseas tour was Europe in 2004. Matthew was replaced on vocals by Jason Peppiatt, and PSYCROPTIC went on to record Symbols Of Failure (2006, Neurotic). The band expanded their sound with Ob (Servant) (2008, Nuclear Blast), bringing in ambience and atmosphere, then The Inherited Repression (2012, Nuclear Blast) introduced the powerful neck-cracking grooves that would mark their sound going forward.
It also introduced them to touring the US with their first happening in 2010. This pushed their lust for the road to new levels, smashing audiences and stupefying musicians around the planet. They’re unique among death metal bands in that it’s almost pointless to try and list the festivals and countries they’ve visited, let alone the bands they’ve played with. It can be condensed to “everyone, everywhere.” Official estimates are at forty countries.
PSYCROPTIC solidified their American relationship by signing to Prosthetic Records in 2014, replacing Cameron on bass with US legend Todd Stern in 2015, then releasing their self-titled album in the same year. At this point something indefinable clicked, and the band unleashed As The Kingdom Drowns (2018), a clear step up from their previous work. Divine Council (2022) proved that this wasn’t a new level for the band – it’s a new normal. Origin vocalist Jason Keyser, long considered a part of PSYCROPTIC’s extended family, contributed vocals to Divine Council as well as the upcoming new material. Keyser remains a session and live vocalist on select tours.
Signing to the legendary Metal Blade Records for their forthcoming full-length album – there is no slowing down. PSYCROPTIC are no longer the local Australian band made good: they are a global powerhouse with a footprint the size of the world, nothing left to prove, and an endless commitment to finding ways to rock you as hard as technically possible.
Japanese black metal legends Sigh are celebrating an incredible 35 years of pushing extreme music’s boundaries! With a dozen studio albums, countless global performances, and an unwavering dedication to sonic evolution, they’ve rightfully earned their place as one of metal’s most revered and influential cult acts.
To mark this monumental anniversary, Sigh has turned its gaze back to their 2007 opus, “Hangman’s Hymn.” This album was a compositional tour de force, notable as Sigh’s first concept album, famously weaving aggressive ’80s thrash influences (think Wehrmacht, Sarcofago, Repulsion) with complex classical arrangements, particularly inspired by German symphonies. However, “Hangman’s Hymn” never quite met the band’s own exacting standards in terms of its original execution and production.
Frontman Mirai Kawashima has personally undertaken the ambitious task of rectifying this. He’s meticulously re-recorded this intricate, at times overlooked masterpiece with Sigh’s current lineup and modern production sensibilities. The result is the newly titled “I Saw the World’s End – Hangman’s Hymn MMXXV,” set to drop on Peaceville on June 13th.
Mirai himself sheds light on the project’s genesis: ““Hangman’s Hymn”, which was released in 2007, is one of my best compositions of my whole career, but it does not necessarily mean that this is my favorite Sigh album. The excessively monotonous drumming must be the biggest issue. The guitars are sloppy. The production is far from the best. And my orchestrations and vocals could have been much better. So what if we re-record this with better musicians and today’s production? The idea was always in my head, and finally the time has come to make it happen. I do know that re-recording can be the double-edged sword. “Scorn Defeat” has some flaws. So does “Imaginary Sonicscape”. But I will never ever re-record those albums as I am sure that it would lose their magic. But “Hangman’s Hymn” is an exception. You can easily tell what I mean if you listen to this completely re-recorded version.”
With Nozomu Wakai on guitar and the formidable Mike Heller returning on drums, “I Saw the World’s End – Hangman’s Hymn MMXXV” is poised to be Sigh’s fiercest, most brutal, and most symphonic album to date. The flawless delivery from the new members, coupled with fresh orchestration featuring real orchestral instruments, brings an entirely new dimension to the work. The album’s enhanced production, courtesy of Lasse Lammert, and striking cover artwork by Eliran Cantor, complete this monumental re-imagining.
About SIGH:
Japanese black metal pioneers Sigh originally formed in 1989/1990. Their genre-defining debut, ‘Scorn Defeat,’ arrived in 1993 via Euronymous’ Deathlike Silence Productions. With each subsequent release, Sigh solidified their reputation as one of Japan’s most influential and revered metal exports. Their career has been a captivating journey through the strange and the psychedelic, eclectically incorporating a vast mix of genre styles and relentless experimentation. Sigh has consistently remained a vital creative force in the avant-garde metal landscape while fiercely maintaining their old-school roots, as powerfully demonstrated by their stellar 2022 album, ‘Shiki.’

From the shadow-soaked corners of New England’s metal underground, AVERSED returns with Erasure of Color, a brutal and elegant firestorm of Gothic-laced melodic death metal—now out everywhere on digital and physical formats. To mark the occasion, the band has premiered a brand-new video for the track “Burn,” capturing the raw intensity of their live ritual in full flame.
Filmed in their home venue—The Middle East in Cambridge, MA—the video is pure adrenaline, fusing pit-swirling madness with visceral camera work and the band’s crushing stage presence.
“We unleashed our videographers into the crowd to brave the pit and capture the energy,” says guitarist Sungwoo Jeong. “They survived—and we’re glad we captured that amazing show for all eternity.”
But “Burn” isn’t just a pit anthem—it’s a multi-dimensional beast.
“It started as a big-stage anthem,” says drummer Jeff Saltzman. “Then we added a rumba-clave section, a bass solo, and lyrics about violent class revolution. Not exactly your standard metal banger—but that’s what defines AVERSED.”
⚙️ About the Album: Erasure of Color
Released independently with support from Bandcamp, indie retailers, and limited physical editions—including 300 smoked-colored vinyl and 100 cassette copies—Erasure of Color is a monumental statement of intent. The album is a tempest of progressive death metal, gothic melody, and extreme emotional depth.
“This isn’t just another album; it’s a rebirth… a powerful exploration of grief, fueled by melodic death metal.” – Decibel “Think the bounce of mid-career The Agonist with the haunting widescreen talents of Oceans of Slumber.” – New Noise
Featuring artwork from Adam Burke (Unto Others, Gatecreeper) and orchestral arrangements by Vikram Shankar (Redemption, Silent Skies), the album was produced by bassist Alden Marchand and guitarist Sungwoo Jeong, with mixing by AJ Viana (Wormhole) and mastering by Brad Boatright (Code Orange, Obituary).

Portland’s blackened death metal force DROUTH returns this spring with the highly anticipated release of their third full-length album, The Teeth of Time, arriving May 16th via Eternal Warfare Records. Following their critically acclaimed 2020 release Excerpts From a Dread Liturgy, the new record is an unrelenting storm of doom-laden intensity, existential dread, and sonic brutality.
A Manifestation of Torment and Chaos 🖤🔥
DROUTH comments on the upcoming release: “We are proud to present The Teeth of Time, a culmination of several years of blood, sweat, and pain. It is a nightmare made manifest, and we are both eager to share our creative work and grateful to the many people who helped make it possible.”
To mark the album’s announcement, the band has unveiled “False Grail,” a harrowing preview of the hellscape awaiting listeners within The Teeth of Time. First premiered at Invisible Oranges, the track delivers an ominous, suffocating atmosphere that perfectly sets the tone for the album.
Matt Solis on “False Grail”:
“‘False Grail’ was the last song we wrote before entering the studio. It came together relatively quickly based on ideas that Stikker brought in—he had it well fleshed out, but we expanded the closing doom section to really emphasize the dynamic shift in the song. We also knew we wanted string accompaniment, so we had Eva Vonne from Isenordal add mournful viola layers after tracking was completed.”
Matt Stikker on the Song’s Concept:
“Lyrically, the song is a nightmare reflecting the disconnect between the true and projected self, and the increasing tension between those poles that we all experience. The map is not the territory, but when the map prefigures and gradually dictates the territory, our agency is threatened forever.”

Technical death metal visionaries ALLEGAEON have just dropped their latest single, “The Swarm,” accompanied by a powerful new video, now premiering at Metal Injection. The track is taken from their forthcoming full-length album, The Ossuary Lens, set to be released on April 4th, 2025, via Metal Blade Records.
Guitarist Greg Burgess shares insight into the track’s origins: “This is a piece written by [guitarist] Michael Stancel. The frantic intro riff was actually written on tour in the UK on a boat in Bristol. I remember filming him playing it so we wouldn’t forget how to play it. The show was sold out and ruled, and then all of our gear got rained on because they had us load out so they could have a disco after the show. Shame!”
Stancel adds: “If I could have set that venue adrift, I would have—but at least we got a song out of it.”
The Ossuary Lens: ALLEGAEON’s Most Brutal and Technically Dazzling Album Yet 💀🎶
The Ossuary Lens marks ALLEGAEON’s seventh studio album and the highly anticipated return of original vocalist Ezra Haynes, rejoining the band after nearly a decade. The album explores various perspectives on death, delving into themes both philosophical and visceral.
“Each song is a different topic, but there’s always a perspective of death tied in,” explains Haynes. “Since the entire album revolves around this theme, we felt that ‘Ossuary’ was a fitting concept, and thus, The Ossuary Lens was born.”
ALLEGAEON Hits the Road with Warbringer for The Vortex of Violence Tour 🎤🔥
Starting March 18th, 2025, ALLEGAEON will co-headline North America with WARBRINGER, alongside Skeletal Remains and Summoning The Lich. The 26-date tour will take the bands across the US and Canada, wrapping up on April 12th in Los Angeles, CA.
The Ossuary Lens: A Monumental Return for ALLEGAEON 🎶⚡
Produced by Dave Otero at Flatline Audio in Denver, The Ossuary Lens promises to be a career-defining record for ALLEGAEON. Consequence raves about its “brutal intensity and progressive sophistication,” while MetalSucks calls it “a relentless masterclass in technical death metal.”
Metal Blade Records proudly welcomes THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE, the Pennsylvania-based deathcore juggernauts, to its renowned roster. Known for their relentless touring and unyielding sound, the band continues to carve its place among the elite in the deathcore scene.
A Legacy of Crushing Innovation
Formed in 2010, THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE quickly established themselves with their self-released debut album, Know Your Exits, and have since become a staple in the metal community. By 2013, the band had signed with Density Records to release their second album, Invivo [Exvivo], and embarked on tours with heavyweights such as I Declare War, Fit For An Autopsy, Thy Art Is Murder, and Kublai Khan. Their evolution across five more full-lengths earned them Billboard chart placements and critical acclaim worldwide.
Their 2024 release, No Name Graves (via Unique Leader Records), marked a significant milestone in their career. Knotfest described it as “reasserting their position as innovators and leaders in the deathcore genre,” while New Transcendence called it “a cinematic, crushing experience.”No Clean Singing praised its “primal intensity and potent, primitive nihilism,” likening it to acts like Black Tongue and Humanity’s Last Breath, but with a stripped-down, raw approach.
Excitement for the Future
Speaking on their new partnership with Metal Blade Records, the band shared their enthusiasm: “We are beyond excited to announce that we have signed with the legendary Metal Blade Records. It is an honor to be on the same roster as such iconic acts past and present. Shout out to Ryan Williams and the rest of the Metal Blade team for giving us the opportunity to riff.”
The Origin of Madness Tour
Currently, THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE is supporting Distant and Enterprise Earth on their European and UK co-headlining tour. Dubbed The Origin of Madness Tour, the trek features support from Harbinger and promises to deliver relentless energy to every city it visits.
Hanno Klänhardt, the band’s member, shares his thoughts: “Valhalla Hammering is one of those songs that immediately resonated with us, even though it didn’t make it onto the album last year. It’s not a track you write to create an ‘instant classic,’ but rather to amuse yourself as a songwriter. Though it’s about 7 minutes long, we aimed to include the catchiest, most impactful songs on the last album, which is why it didn’t find its place.
I was already aware that it probably wouldn’t end up on the album as I was writing it. In fact, I had planned to release it some time AFTER we had released ‘Pain Is Forever And This Is The End,’ in order to present something entirely different as our next move. It’s always good to keep things intriguing.
The first two minutes pay homage to our early days when Doom as a genre held significant importance for us. You can hear similar elements in the last song of our debut album titled ‘March Of The Crowes.’ People often noted that slow, ultra-heavy sound suited us well. With ‘Valhalla Hammering,’ we managed to bring the best of both worlds – a slow, heavy groove and a catchy, almost mesmerizing hook. We even threw in a flute solo around the 5-minute mark. This might just be the peak of our songwriting career.
The music video for the song is as mind-bending as the song itself. Inspired by a documentary from Amsterdam-based artist Willehad Eilers, also known as Wayne Horse, creating the visuals went beyond the usual video shoot. To be frank, some aspects of it are better left unexplained. Even if we tried, we couldn’t fully explain it. Enjoy the enigmatic journey.”
Formed in 2012, Mantar has become a prominent force in the realm of extreme metal over the past decade. Garnering love from fans and critics alike, the band made a significant impact with their distinct sound, leading them to secure a spot in the Top 10 of the official German album charts with their 2018 release, ‘The Modern Art Of Setting Ablaze,’ and selling out shows across Europe.
Mantar’s latest full-length album, ‘Pain Is Forever And This Is The End,’ hit the scene through Metal Blade Records on July 15, 2022. The album achieved impressive chart positions in the US and Europe, including reaching #2 on the Official German Album Charts, #43 on the Top 100 Swiss Album Charts, #60 on the Current Hard Music (Billboard USA), and #69 on the Top 75 Austria.
Both stateside and internationally, the album has garnered praise. Decibel Magazine refers to it as a “burning Molotov cocktail of black metal, sludgy hardcore, and classic metal hooks.” Rock Hard notes its ability to balance between “brute destructive fury and dense atmosphere,” and Metal Injection applauds its “thicker grooves, anthemic refrains, head-nodding rhythms, and a greater exploitation of fist-in-the-air-ology school of songwriting.”
Mantar is set to perform at various events including Party.San, Desertfest, and more. Check out their full list of tour dates below.

Canadian extreme-metal pioneers CRYPTOPSY have unveiled their depraved and merciless new single, “Flayed The Swine,” today! This track is part of the band’s first full-length album in over a decade, titled “As Gomorrah Burns,” scheduled for release on September 8th via Nuclear Blast Records. The latest single, “Flayed The Swine,” is both accessible and face-melting, taking listeners on a dark and demented journey into madness. Accompanying the track is a gruesome and blood-soaked video that is sure to haunt viewers’ nightmares.
Vocalist Matt McGachy comments on the new single:
“‘Flayed the Swine’ is one of the catchiest Cryptopsy songs I have ever written. It is brutal, filled with massive groove sections and extremely vulgar. Lyrically, it concentrates on a mental breakdown, an utter loss of control. We all have dark intentions, but we rarely act upon them. The protagonist by the end of the track most certainly wishes they hadn’t.”
The album “As Gomorrah Burns” underscores the ferocity of fan-favorite releases like “None So Vile” (1996) and the technical precision of “And Then You’ll Beg” (2000) while incorporating a sinister and strikingly dark vibe.
Conceptually, “As Gomorrah Burns” juxtaposes the story of Sodom and Gomorrah from the Bible with the modern-day Internet, exploring its dual nature as both a birthplace of invention and a cesspool of exploitation. Cryptopsy commissioned Italian artist Paolo Girardi to create the cover art, resulting in a stunning visual representation of the album’s themes.
With “As Gomorrah Burns,” Cryptopsy unleashes a new chapter of their death metal legacy, combining brutality and thoughtfulness. This album, featuring tracks like “In Abeyance,” “Flayed the Swine,” and “Lascivious Undivine,” delves into the depths of extremity, piercing mundanity thoroughly and relentlessly.
CRYPTOPSY, formed in 1992, have released eight full-length albums to date. With their first album for Nuclear Blast, “As Gomorrah Burns,” the Montreal-based quartet—featuring founding member/drummer Flo Mounier, guitarist Christian Donaldson, vocalist Matt McGachy, and bassist Olivier “Oli” Pinard—continue to push their signature Northern power as they celebrate over 30 years of extremity.
“We are back,” says McGachy. “Yes, we have had massive cult favorite albums, but we are creating modern and relevant extreme music 30 years later. We’re so proud of As Gomorrah Burns, and we can’t wait for you to hear it!”

HATE’s music is a unique blend of death and black metal, characterized by unflinching viciousness and a captivating atmosphere that sets them apart from others in the genre. Their twelfth and most recent full-length album, “Rugia,” released via Metal Blade Records, showcases the band pushing the boundaries of their craft even further.
“Rugia” made a strong impact on the charts, reaching #30 on Billboard’s Current Hard Music Albums chart and #33 on Billboard’s Top New Artists Albums chart in the US, as well as #25 on Billboard’s Current Hard Music Albums chart in Canada in its first week of release. The album is available on CD, LP, and digital formats.
Following their explosive debut last month, the extreme metal band TILL THE DIRT returns with their fierce follow-up single “Starring Role.” This cataclysmic track is featured on their highly anticipated debut album, “Outside The Spiral,” produced by the renowned Scott Burns and set to release on August 25th via Nuclear Blast Records.
Kelly Shaefer, the influential death metal legend, ATHEIST vocalist, and mastermind behind TILL THE DIRT, shares his thoughts on the new song:
“‘Starring Role’ takes the lead as the opening track of the album. It ranks among my favorites on the record and is also a favorite of producer Scott Burns. It’s a straight-up ripper! The song embodies all the unique hybrid qualities of this entire album. Lyrically, it delves into the oddness of dreams and the roles we sometimes fail to comprehend as we wake from them. This is the perfect banger to blast at full volume while driving at high speeds!”
Recently signed to Nuclear Blast, Shaefer and his crew made an unforgettable impression with their lead single and title track “Outside The Spiral,” featuring TESTAMENT bassist Steve Di Giorgio.
Prepare for an electrifying journey with TILL THE DIRT’s debut album “Outside The Spiral,” featuring an explosive blend of extreme musical force and genre-defying creativity. Kelly Shaefer and his co-conspirators have breathed new life into the world of extreme music, delivering tracks infused with grunge, black metal, jazz, rock, dark wave, and more, redefining the very essence of death metal.
Norwegian death metallers, CADAVER, have finally released their long-awaited sixth studio album, “The Age Of The Offended,” via Nuclear Blast Records. True to the band’s primitive roots and an audacious, ground-breaking, psychedelic horror show, the album is an angry, fucked up album for angry, fucked up times, defiantly created against the odds.
Check out the lyric video for the menacing track, ‘Deadly Metal,’ here:

For “The Age Of The Offended,” the band compiled footage about today’s climate of everyone being offended and what it means to music and art. The first episode discusses the band’s legacy, being involved in the Norwegian Extreme Metal scene, and takes fans around Oslo on the ‘Black Metal Bus Sightseeing Tour.’ Watch CADAVER TV Episode 1 – the ‘Black Metal Tour Oslo’ here:
“The Age Of The Offended” was recorded at Daufembach Studio, Villa Necro, Studio Tomb, and Studio Studio. Adair Daufembach was responsible for producing, engineering, mixing, and mastering. Kjartan Hesthagen also assisted with the engineering, working in tandem with the band and Adair. The band enlisted Fleshflies to create the artwork for “The Age Of The Offended.”
Canadian kings of technical death metal, CRYPTOPSY, have made a resounding announcement that has sent shockwaves through the metal community. After over a decade of anticipation, they are set to release their highly awaited full-length album, titled “As Gomorrah Burns,” on September 8th, courtesy of Nuclear Blast Records. The groundbreaking quartet is back with a vengeance, showcasing their renewed vigor and unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of extreme music.
“As Gomorrah Burns” promises to be one of CRYPTOPSY’s most tumultuous and ambitious albums yet, continuing their tradition of sonic exploration and complex songwriting. Vocalist Matt McGachy expressed his excitement about the upcoming release, describing it as a meticulous endeavor that perfectly blends the old-school CRYPTOPSY sound with modern twists. The album features infectious grooves and a breath of fresh air, allowing the riffs to shine in ways that haven’t been seen in their recent releases. McGachy is thrilled about this new era for CRYPTOPSY, and fans can expect a captivating musical journey that stays true to the band’s roots while embracing their evolution.
To give fans a taste of what’s to come, CRYPTOPSY has unleashed the first single, “In Abeyance,” along with an accompanying music video directed by Chris Kells (The Agonist, Beneath The Massacre). McGachy describes the single as a conceptually intense exploration of feeling isolated in a new environment, searching for a sense of belonging while mourning a previous life. Musically, “In Abeyance” is a forceful slap in the face, appearing deceptively straightforward but revealing layers of intricate complexity upon closer inspection.
Fans can pre-order “As Gomorrah Burns” now and stream “In Abeyance” to get a taste of the fury that awaits them. The album promises to be a relentless onslaught of extreme metal, featuring tracks like “Lascivious Undivine,” “Flayed The Swine,” and “Praise The Filth.” The anticipation surrounding the release is at an all-time high, with listeners eagerly awaiting the album’s arrival.
Looking back at CRYPTOPSY’s storied career, it’s evident that they have continually pushed the boundaries of death metal. Formed in 1992, the band quickly became known for their uncompromising attack and unparalleled musicality. Their debut album, “Blasphemy Made Flesh,” shocked the metal world, and subsequent releases like “None So Vile” and “Once Was Not” solidified their status as apex predators in the genre. They have embarked on high-profile tours, performing over 1,000 shows across 47 countries.
“As Gomorrah Burns” not only serves as a follow-up to their previous EPs, “The Book of Suffering – Tome I” and “The Book of Suffering – Tome II,” but also represents a new era for the band. Crafted over two years during the pandemic, the album is the result of painstaking dedication and an arduous songwriting process. The initial sessions took place in a cabin in the haunting forests of Quebec, providing an eerie backdrop for the creation of this beastly album. Guitarist and producer Christian Donaldson, together with his bandmates Matt McGachy, Flo Mounier, and Olivier “Oli” Pinard, channeled their collective energies to create eight slabs of unadulterated barbarity. The production of the album was helmed by Donaldson, ensuring that CRYPTOPSY’s vision was executed flawlessly.

Conceptually, “As Gomorrah Burns” delves into the collision of the Biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah with the modern-day Internet. McGachy’s vision was to explore how the internet serves as both a birthplace of invention and a cesspool of exploitation. The album touches upon real-life incidents of online stalking, cults, misinformation, isolation, and intimidation, amplifying their impact through devious ornamentation. The striking cover art, created by Italian artist Paolo Girardi, perfectly complements the album’s old-world lyrical themes, creating a visual representation of the darkness that lies within.
“As Gomorrah Burns” is an aggressive and thought-provoking masterpiece that pierces through the mundane and relentlessly delivers uncompromising death metal. The album captures the essence of what our world needs—a ferocious and unyielding musical force that only CRYPTOPSY can provide. McGachy emphatically declares that CRYPTOPSY is not merely a legacy band but a modern and relevant force in extreme music. With “As Gomorrah Burns,” CRYPTOPSY invites listeners to embark on a thrilling journey that is as relevant today as it was 30 years ago.
In addition to the upcoming album, CRYPTOPSY has tantalized fans with news of an impending fall headlining “Carnival Of Death” tour across North America. The tour dates will be announced soon, and it is sure to be a monumental event for fans of extreme music. Cryptopsy’s live performances are renowned for their energy and intensity, leaving audiences breathless and craving more. This tour will undoubtedly be an unmissable experience for metal enthusiasts.

“You’ll Never Learn” is about the people you keep around in your life that continue to make the same mistakes without making a change. Chances and patience run out, people will only stick by you for so long. Keep those true to you close, and drop that dead weight.”We shot this video across our two performances at the UK festivals Bloodstock and Download, and Loki Films managed to capture the utter chaos that ensued. ABOUT INGESTED: Ingested are the flagbearers of modern UK death metal. They have been churning out bilious anti-anthems for more than a decade-and-a-half, dropping a string of releases that have helped shape the genre. They return with Ashes Lie Still, their most dynamic, inventive, and daring release to date, holding nothing back. The band describes it as “a modern essential. It still has the core Ingested elements of groovy slamming riffs, quick drumming, and guttural vocals but there’s also atmosphere, ethereal moments, and some raw old school aggression.” Over the course of 10 tracks, Ingested hack, slash, and steamroll through everything in their path, and Ashes Lie Still easily stands as the highpoint of an already impressive career. Founded in 2006 in Manchester, England, Ingested have since toured extensively with Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile, Carnifex, and Revocation, and have been seen on European festival stages including Summer Breeze Open Air. Slimmed down to a three-piece, the band feels it is in the best place it ever has been, enabling the members to work at the top of their game.
Ashes Lie Still was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson. It was co-produced by the band and previous collaborator Nico Beninato, with drummer Lyn Jeffs living close to Beninato’s studio in Mallorca and recording his drums there, while Sean Hynes recorded his guitars at home in the UK with the producer assisting remotely. Vocal tracking was interrupted by Jason Evans falling seriously ill when finally making it to Mallorca and was ultimately tracked back in Manchester. Bass was again supplied by Dominic Grimard (Ion Dissonance/The Last Felony).
Ingested succinctly encapsulate their existence, saying, “We’ve always been the underdogs, always fighting for scraps. Well, it’s time to get out of the fucking way, because now it’s our turn to eat at the table.”
You’ve. Been. Warned.
