🔥 ONI Drops Haunting New Ballad “Shouldn’t Feel This Way” + Tour With Pop Evil This Spring 💀

Canadian alt-metal trailblazer ONI has returned with a soul-piercing new single, “Shouldn’t Feel This Way,” a powerful acoustic ballad that peels back the distortion to reveal raw emotion and heartbreak. Out now on all platforms, the track marks a distinct shift in tone for ONI—showcasing a softer, more vulnerable side of project founder Jake Oni.

💬 Reflecting on the song, Oni shares:

“‘Shouldn’t Feel This Way’ is about mourning the loss of someone really close to you, and the constant struggle in life to live without feeling lost and alone… It isn’t like anything I have released before. I got to shoot the video on my farm in Canada which is a very important place for me.”

Co-written with John Boecklin, Seth Evans, and Kile Odell, the track follows the recent cover of The Kooks’ “Naive” and ONI’s emotionally charged Genesis EP, setting the stage for a dynamic and deeply personal year in the band’s evolution.

🔥 About ONI

Formed in 2014, ONI has carved out a unique space in metal with his fusion of progressive songwriting, crushing metalcore, and melodic hooks. From his debut Ironshore (2016) to the powerful sophomore effort Loathing Light (2022) featuring Iggy Pop and Randy Blythe, to the genre-defying The Silver Line (2023) with collabs including Howard Jones and Sueco, Jake Oni has proven he’s one of the scene’s most versatile and ambitious voices.

The Genesis EP (2025) continues that upward trajectory with singles like “Deja Vu,” “Walk Away,” and “Erase” leading the charge.

Antania Joins Psyclon Nine on U.S. ‘Devils Work’ Tour in 2025

The rising “Doom Bass” pioneers Antania are set to join industrial metal heavyweights Psyclon Nine on their highly anticipated ‘Devils Work’ Tour across the United States this spring. Known for their groundbreaking fusion of black metal, doom metal, and electronic bass music, Antania continues to captivate audiences with their innovative sound and visceral live performances.

Heralded as the inventors and champions of the “Doom Bass” subgenre, Antania has been active since June 2023, quickly carving a unique niche in the metal and electronic music scenes. Drawing influences from Slayer, Ministry, The Prodigy, Morbid Angel, and Deicide, the band has been likened to “the Slayer of bass music.”

The duo, composed of Dr. Luna (bass and electronics) and Kali Mortem (vocals), forgoes traditional string instruments, creating their sound by wrapping distortion around saw and sub-bass lines using a microbrute synthesizer. Sponsored by KAT Percussion, Dr. Luna delivers intricate polyrhythms over trap beats and blast beats, while Kali Mortem’s blackened, abrasive vocals evoke a haunting intensity.

“This tour is a dream collaboration,” said Dr. Luna, also a high priest at the Temple of Hecate in New York City. “We’re excited to bring our ‘Doom Bass’ sound to Psyclon Nine’s fans and see how the dark aesthetics of both bands resonate.”

Antania’s critically acclaimed debut album, The God Complex (January 2024, The Triad Records), has garnered praise from fans and press alike. Metal Digest called it “a filthy record of utter low-frequency brutality”, highlighting tracks like “Black Glitch Six” and “Trophy.” Their recent single “D3D Solz” further demonstrates their innovative sound, solidifying their place as pioneers of a new metal subgenre.

Tour Dates

The tour kicks off on January 31, 2025, at Brick By Brick in San Diego, CA, and spans multiple cities including Portland, Seattle, Detroit, and New York. The full schedule includes:

January 31, 2025 – Brick By Brick, San Diego, CA

February 2, 2025 – Star Theater, Portland, OR

February 3, 2025 – El Corazon, Seattle, WA

February 5, 2025 – Gray’s Keg Saloon, Lincoln, NE

February 7, 2025 – Harpos Concert Theatre, Detroit, MI

February 13, 2025 – STIMULATE, New York, NY
