The Browning have returned with “OBSOLETE. DELETE. REPEAT.”, a new standalone single released August 26, 2026, continuing the Kansas City outfit’s relentless push at the intersection of crushing metal, electronic aggression, and rave-driven energy.

Led by Jonny McBee, The Browning have spent years turning boundaries between electronic music and extreme metal into rubble. Their sound has pulled from deathcore, metalcore, industrial electronics, EDM, and rave culture without treating any of those elements as decoration. The electronics hit with the same purpose as the guitars, breakdowns, and vocals — everything is engineered toward impact.

“OBSOLETE. DELETE. REPEAT.” arrives after an especially active period for the project. The Browning released OMNI in 2024, expanded its world with OMNI [ULTRA] in 2025, and revisited their earlier material with Burn This World [EVOLVED] in February 2026.

Delete the Old. Repeat the Violence.

Even the title “OBSOLETE. DELETE. REPEAT.” reads like a corrupted system command: identify what no longer works, erase it, rebuild, and run the process again. It fits comfortably inside the technological and dystopian language that has long surrounded The Browning’s music.

The timing is equally vicious. The single lands immediately ahead of the band’s next North American headlining run, which begins August 27 in Lexington, Kentucky. Deadlands and Blind Equation are set to provide direct support, with The Crimson Armada and Extortionist appearing on select dates.

That makes “OBSOLETE. DELETE. REPEAT.” more than another entry in an already expanding catalog. It is fresh ammunition arriving almost exactly as The Browning prepares to carry its collision of metal and electronic chaos back onto stages across the continent.

For a band that has effectively summarized its identity as “rave metal,” there is little interest here in choosing between the pit and the dancefloor.
