SPANKTHENUN, alongside twisted re-imaginings from CVRBON DECVY and Melody Whore, has just unveiled “PANOPTIKON,” a chillingly captivating 4-on-the-floor electro experience. This track serves as an ominous sonic tribute to Dallas’s iconic Panoptikon club, pulling you into its shadowy embrace.
“PANOPTIKON” ensnares the listener with its relentless surveillance beats and a haunting, unforgettable refrain (“See me now, see forever, PANOPTIKON”). You’re drawn into a world of neon grids and pulsing rhythms, where the infectious groove becomes your captor. As shadows writhe and the intensity builds, the very notion of freedom seems to slip away within this hypnotic soundscape.
Adding further layers to this digital menace, the release features compelling and distorted remixes from the sonic architects CVRBON DECVY and Melody Whore. Each remix amplifies the track’s inherent darkness and technological dread, offering unique and unsettling perspectives on SPANKTHENUN’s original vision.

From the vibrant heart of Brazil emerges AESTHETISCHE, the formidable EBM duo led by Gui Pires and Fab Viscardi, delivering a powerful sonic statement for 2025: the “Selling Fear” EP. In a reality increasingly fractured by the weight of misinformation, manipulative media, and escalating socio-political tensions, this new EP strikes with the urgency of a pounding alarm – a defiant and vital soundtrack for an era teetering on the edge.
With “Selling Fear,” AESTHETISCHE channels their signature fusion of precise electronic craftsmanship and raw, gritty intensity into six fiercely sharp tracks. These sonic creations artfully straddle the line between potent protest anthems and irresistible dance floor weapons. Drawing inspiration from the iconic legacies of FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY and the “Tyranny For You”-era FRONT 242, the duo seamlessly blends abrasive industrial textures with compelling melodic EBM grooves – a potent combination of visceral energy and intellectual depth.
From the aggressive rhythmic onslaught of the title track itself to its intriguing reinterpretations, “Selling Fear” provides multiple angles on a central, undeniable truth: resistance is not optional, and silence equates to complicity. The EP also features a fresh and impactful 2025 rework of “Everything Ends,” transforming last year’s original into a hard-hitting, club-ready anthem.
This is more than just an EP; “Selling Fear” is a sonic manifesto. AESTHETISCHE issues a rallying cry to all sonic dissidents: confront the overwhelming noise, decipher the pervasive lies, and transmute fear into the very fuel for change.
Let the machines articulate the message – and let the unvarnished truth resonate.
Hailing from the heart of Hungary and wielding powerful rhythms comes STAHLGEIST, the nation’s prime purveyors of Electronic Body Music. Their latest decree, “Justice,” isn’t just an album; it’s a 13-track sonic sentencing that proves their recent “Silence” EP was merely a polite cough before a full-throated roar. The masterminds behind this auditory arraignment are István Gazdag (also known for FIRST AID 4 SOULS and FIRST AID TECH) and the vocal prosecutor Tamás Bank (of WORKER MUNKAS and INTERZONE INC.). Together, they’ve crafted their most rigorously engineered and brutally effective record to date – a dance floor demolition expertly produced and as shadowy as an oil slick in a moonless night.
Prepare for a journey that begins with the wailing sirens of the opening track, “Justice,” navigates the darkly melodic highways of “Bad Galaxy,” slams you with the percussive force of the club hit “Boots On The Ground,” and finally leaves you in the stark quietude of “Silence.” This album cleverly synthesizes the militant drive of vintage NITZER EBB, the catchy synth lines of AND ONE, the sonic venom of LEAETHER STRIP, and the precise impact of FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, all while retaining STAHLGEIST’s distinct Central European edge. Gazdag’s production achieves a crystalline clarity within a darkly textured soundscape, while Bank’s vocals deliver biting accusations against societal ills, urban decay, and even divine comeuppance.
Forged over three years, “Justice” stands as STAHLGEIST’s artistic creed: no backing down, no leniency, just pure power channeled through compelling beats. If your musical tastes align with the classic sounds of FRONT 242 (circa 1985), the relentless intensity of :WUMPSCUT:, the early melodicism of AND ONE, or the stark aggression of NITZER EBB, then prepare to have your speakers thoroughly interrogated.
The final verdict? Unquestionably guilty of inciting total dance floor pandemonium. Initiate playback and feel the sonic gavel fall!

Mojave Phone Booth, the compelling husband and wife duo of Mitchell J Doran and Tobey Torres-Doran, have today, May 16th, 2025, released their brand new single, “Ceramic,” via Label 51 Recordings. This marks the latest sonic transmission from the pair, who first began their musical journey together in the late ’90s as pivotal members of the cult industrial rock act Snake River Conspiracy.
“‘Ceramic’ was written on a Moog synthesizer with self-sampled drums and other pre-programmed sounds, plus a mistake that actually became my favourite instrument in the track,” Mitchell explains, offering a glimpse into their experimental process. “I also sampled a burning electric motor and distorted it through a Marshall guitar amp, and layered it in throughout. It’s the first and last sound you hear in this track. The words in the song tie into the larger concept of our new album. What happens on Sunday?” This intriguing question hints at the narrative threads woven throughout their upcoming work.
The album in question is Mojave Phone Booth’s highly anticipated third record, “Blood Doctor Volume One,” slated for release in the summer of 2025. This new offering melds abrasive textures, intricately crafted melodic song structures, and propulsive electronic rhythms into a singular and compelling sonic combination. Known for their relentless and meticulous approach, with an unwavering attention to detail and surgical precision, Mojave Phone Booth has forged their most aggressive and experimental work to date with “Blood Doctor Volume One.”
Tobey Torres-Doran’s powerful presence as the lead vocalist and frontperson for Snake River Conspiracy saw her touring the globe alongside renowned acts such as A Perfect Circle, Queens of the Stone Age, and Filter. Her vocal talents also extended to session work for various recordings under the Warner/Reprise Records banner.
Mitchell J Doran’s musical journey began in his teens, working as a session musician and recording engineer on releases for major labels like Warner, collaborating with iconic bands such as Queensryche and Dio. He was later recruited to Snake River Conspiracy as the lead guitarist and programmer, marking the inception of his creative partnership with Tobey that ultimately blossomed into Mojave Phone Booth.
Their second and most recent album, “Hollow The Numbers” (2023), served as a bold testament to their fearless creative spirit. Written and recorded in their home studio nestled in the Bay Area of Northern California, it masterfully showcased their “studio as instrument” philosophy. They not only drew from an eclectic array of analog gear but also elevated their craft by constructing much of that equipment themselves.
Once again conceived and recorded within the walls of their home studio, “Blood Doctor Volume One” represents the next evolution of their unique creative process. In addition to their instrumental prowess on synths, drums, bass, and guitars, Mitchell also takes on the roles of recording and producing their albums. “Sounds we were inspired by this time were recycling trucks, mechanical telephone switching systems and electronic voice phenomena,” he continues, highlighting their unconventional sonic palette. “We used a wide range of instruments and equipment to create a careful selection of textures.”
“Blood Doctor Volume One” arrests the listener with its immediacy, drawing them into a world brimming with palpable tension and searing emotional depth. Imbued with an otherworldly sonic innovation, Mojave Phone Booth thrives in the compelling space where industrial rock collides with the boundless possibilities of analog electronic experimentation.

The captivating electronic musician and vocalist Mari Kattman, known for her integral role in the duo Helix and her compelling solo work, unleashes her brand new single, “Sharp Shooter,” today, Friday, May 16th, 2025, via Metropolis Records. This electrifying track serves as the second tantalizing glimpse into her upcoming full-length solo debut for the label (and third overall), aptly titled “Year Of The Katt,” which is slated for release on June 20th.
“‘Sharp Shooter’ explores the theme of an intelligent soul that navigates to painful circumstances for the chance to grow. No shots missed,” states Kattman, hinting at the track’s blend of introspective depth and sonic precision. The single follows her recent release, “Anemia,” a track that drew a stark parallel between vampiric exploitation and the debilitating weakness often experienced by those living with the condition.
Regarding the upcoming “Year Of The Katt” album, Kattman reveals the intensely personal journey of its creation: “Finishing it was a truly herculean effort. It was an album completely recorded, composed and produced by myself, so there were a lot of learning curves and things I needed to sort out before I was truly happy with the end product. I feel relief and enormously proud that I got it done.” This self-sufficient approach underscores Kattman’s artistic vision and unwavering dedication to her craft.
A prominent figure in today’s electronic music landscape, Mari Kattman has been a dynamic force since 2012, consistently writing, recording, producing, and performing her unique sonic creations. Her impressive resume boasts collaborations with a veritable who’s who of the scene, including Assemblage 23, Mesh, Ivardensphere, Jean-Marc Lederman, Psy’Aviah, Aesthetiche, Neuroticfish, BlackCarBurning, Cassetter, This Morn Omina, Solitary Experiments, Mephisto Walz, Aiboforcen, and Interface, showcasing her remarkable vocal versatility.
However, Kattman’s extensive vocal contributions for these esteemed acts only hint at her own considerable talents as a songwriter and producer. Previous singles such as ‘Fever Shakes’, ‘URGOD.AI’ and ‘Swallow’ have already demonstrated her knack for crafting irresistibly catchy electronic songs, tailor-made for the dance floor, where elements of Trap, Hip Hop, Electro, Ambient, EBM, and Industrial music seamlessly intertwine with her powerfully distinctive voice. “Sharp Shooter” promises to be another bullseye in her expanding sonic arsenal, further solidifying her position as a compelling and innovative artist.

As a first glimpse into AURI’s evolving soundscape, the hauntingly beautiful lead single “Shieldmaiden” is available now, accompanied by a stunning cinematic video directed by Ville Lipiäinen. Troy Donockley describes the track as “a mysterious song, obscured by its own slow rising power. Auri thrives on mystery and ambiguity so all is well…”
San Jose metalcore/hardcore juggernaut MUGSHOT has unleashed their second blistering single, “Next To Your Idols,” from their highly anticipated sophomore album, “All The Devils Are Here,” set to detonate on June 20th via Pure Noise Records. This track is a furious indictment of celebrity worship and the disturbing trend of idolizing those who abuse their power and platform.
“‘Next To Your Idols’ is a critique on celebrity culture and the adornment of those who use their platform to mistreat or take advantage of others,” the band states with righteous anger. “It’s an indictment on Hollywood and the manipulation that surrounds it and similar circles.” The track delivers this message with MUGSHOT’s signature blend of brutal metalcore and hardcore intensity, a sonic battering ram aimed squarely at the toxic underbelly of fame.
“All The Devils Are Here,” a massive 12-track record produced by Randy Leboeuf (known for his work with Kublai Kahn, The Acacia Strain, Gideon, and Bad Omens), marks a significant new chapter for MUGSHOT. Following their hard-hitting 2023 EP, “Cold Will,” and nearly a decade after their acclaimed full-length debut, “Dull Boy,” this album sees vocalist Ringo Waterman, guitarist Michael Demko, drummer Connor Haines, and bassist Ciro Abraham locked into a devastatingly brutal groove. Their sound is a violent storm, a relentless collision of metal and hardcore influences. The album also features the previously released sonic assaults “Vale of Tears,” “Die In Fear,” and “Afore A Waking Nightmare,” all hinting at the sheer rage contained within.
Regarding the new album, the band comments: “This album is the most collaborative we have ever been as a band, every person had a major hand in creating whether that be musically, lyrically or both. It’s also the first album we haven’t self produced and having Randy Leboeuf on board was so invaluable, he really felt like a 5th member. Lyrically this is the most personal and pissed off we have ever been and we think everyone will be able to connect with many tracks on this record.”
MUGSHOT will be taking their sonic fury on the road all summer long in support of “All The Devils Are Here,” including performances at major festivals like Welcome To Rockville and Louder Than Life. Tickets are available now at https://mugshotca.com/.

Room 23 Music has just unearthed a sonic artifact of profound darkness: “Crux Aeternum” by the enigmatic entity known as Obscura Secta. This isn’t merely a release; it’s a 16-minute invocation, a journey into a darkness not defined by the absence of light, but born from within – a seeping, sentient, and seemingly eternal presence. Prepare to tread the threshold between utter desolation and a terrifying form of revelation.
Obscura Secta emerges from the shadows, unbound by conventional reference, with “Crux Aeternum” unfolding across three distinct and unsettling movements. The first, “Ex Solis Umbra” (From the Shadow of the Sun), crawls forth with low-frequency pulses, the last vestiges of warmth extinguished by an unseen and total eclipse. It’s a slow, creeping dread that settles deep within the listener.
The second movement, “Via Lucida” (The Lucid Way), offers no true clarity or illumination. Instead, it presents only the agonizing flicker of brief insight, moments of piercing awareness that serve only to amplify the surrounding darkness. There is no comfort to be found on this path, only the stark reality of a fractured perception.
Finally, the concluding movement, “Lux Occulta” (The Hidden Light), delves into the buried truth, the secrets that fester beneath the surface. Here, the veil between worlds tears, and the silence between the carefully placed tones becomes almost unbearable, pregnant with unspoken dread and the weight of hidden knowledge.
“Crux Aeternum” is presented not as a mere musical release, but as a relic – a sonic document chronicling a slow, inexorable decay and a holy dread that permeates every frequency. This is an experience for those who dare to confront the abyss and find a strange form of resonance within its depths.

Dilemma, the darkly captivating project forged in the shadows by producer Alex Elias, is releasing its most emotionally resonant single to date, “The Gift (that Keeps on Giving),” today, May 14th, 2025, via Outer Darkness Records. This intensely brooding track plunges listeners into a soundscape that is both exquisitely tormented and deeply personal, serving as a melancholic reflection on the visceral realities of enduring chronic pain.
“The Gift (that Keeps on Giving)” exists in the liminal space between a gothic lament and an industrial outpouring, drawing its power from the profound wellspring of emotional and physical struggle. The lyrics possess a sharp, almost painful beauty, cutting through the sonic darkness like shards of glass beneath a shattered moonlit sky. The poignant line, “and those moments of reprieve, fleeting but pristine, I treasure them as true gift without irony,” lies at the heart of the track’s ironically titled name, encapsulating its bittersweet and deeply human message.

Prepare for a sonic recalibration! The enigmatic project LOCKJAW is gearing up to unleash their electrifying cover of Garbage’s iconic track “Vow” on Friday, May 23rd, 2025. This isn’t just a simple rendition; LOCKJAW is tearing down the original and rebuilding it with their own signature industrial-tinged intensity. Adding extra voltage to this sonic experiment are two familiar faces from the scene: the formidable Jose Ramirez (formerly of LOCKJAW) on guitars, and the powerhouse Ken Pillar (known for his work with Project 44, WORM, and Apocalypse Theater) on drums.
While details surrounding LOCKJAW remain somewhat shrouded in digital mist, their reputation for crafting hard-hitting, technologically infused soundscapes precedes them. This cover of “Vow” promises to be no exception, likely injecting the original’s raw energy with a layer of metallic grit and electronic precision. The involvement of Jose Ramirez, a former architect of LOCKJAW’s sonic identity, adds an intriguing layer of continuity and perhaps a nod to the project’s past.
Ken Pillar, a name synonymous with thunderous and intricate drumming in the industrial and alternative metal underground, further elevates the anticipation for this release. His powerful rhythms and dynamic style are sure to provide a solid and driving backbone to LOCKJAW’s interpretation of the Garbage classic. The collaboration between these seasoned musicians hints at a cover that will not only pay homage to the original but also carve its own distinct sonic territory.
Garbage’s “Vow,” released in 1995 as their debut single, was a groundbreaking track that blended alternative rock with electronic textures and Shirley Manson’s distinctive vocals. Its raw emotion and powerful delivery cemented Garbage’s place in the mid-90s music landscape. LOCKJAW’s decision to tackle such an influential song suggests a bold and potentially transformative reimagining.
The anticipation for LOCKJAW’s “Vow” cover is building within the industrial and alternative music communities. The combination of LOCKJAW’s sonic aesthetic, the return of Jose Ramirez on guitar, and the percussive force of Ken Pillar on drums makes this a highly anticipated release for fans of both the original track and the darker, more electronic edges of alternative music. Mark your digital calendars for Friday, May 23rd, and prepare for a sonic collision of past and present.
Stay locked onto your digital feeds for the imminent release of LOCKJAW’s cover of “Vow.” This promises to be a potent injection of industrial energy into a beloved alternative anthem.

The titans of futurepop, VNV Nation, helmed by the visionary Ronan Harris, have once again expanded their sonic empire with the release of their twelfth studio album, “Construct,” on May 9th, 2025, via their own Anachron Sounds imprint. Following the critically acclaimed “Electric Sun,” “Construct” marks another significant step in VNV Nation’s evolution, delivering a meticulously crafted collection of ten tracks that seamlessly blend their signature anthemic beats with profound emotional and lyrical depth.
Originally conceived as part of a double album project titled “Construct // Destruct,” the sheer scope and distinct character of each collection led Harris to ultimately release them as two separate entities. “Construct,” as its name suggests, leans towards a more positive and forward-looking sonic architecture. Ronan Harris himself has described the album as exploring the duality within us, the “two wolves” vying for dominance, and the importance of acknowledging our shadow selves to find balance. He also hinted that fans of their classic track “Illusion” would find much to embrace within this new offering.
“Construct” builds upon VNV Nation’s established sound while pushing its boundaries. From the pulsing energy of the previously released singles “Silence Speaks,” “Station 21,” and “By Your Side,” to the emotive and orchestrally-inspired moments found in tracks like “Nothing More” and the epic “Frontier I + II,” the album offers a dynamic and immersive listening experience. Harris’s lyrical prowess remains a cornerstone, weaving narratives of resilience, hope, and the search for meaning in an increasingly complex world.
The album’s creation took place at VNV Nation’s Hamburg studio between May 2024 and January 2025, with Ronan Harris at the helm of production. The mixing was a collaborative effort between Harris and Benjamin Lawrenz, known for his work with Lord of the Lost and KMFDM, while mastering duties were handled to ensure a polished and powerful final product. The physical release of “Construct” features a striking cover design, employing a grid of cut-out characters to subtly reveal the band name and album title, adding another layer of artistic depth to the project.
With “Construct” now available on various formats, including Digipak CD, limited and regular vinyl, and digital platforms, VNV Nation continues their journey of sonic exploration, building new anthems for their devoted fanbase. This album serves as a testament to their enduring creativity and their ability to construct soundscapes that resonate deeply within the hearts and minds of their listeners
From the pulsating heart of Brooklyn, Bootblacks, sonic architects of the night, have dropped their latest electrifying single, “Leipzig,” a neon-drenched anthem beamed directly to your auditory cortex via Artoffact Records. This track isn’t just music; it’s a journey into the glittering, synthetic soul of the late 20th century’s nightclub futurism, a soundtrack for lost souls finding fleeting connection under strobing lights.
“Leipzig” finds Bootblacks at their most kinetically charged, a raw machine driven by punchy, aggressive basslines and manic arpeggiation. Adding an unexpected layer of human warmth and soulful grit is Oskar Carls of Viagra Boys, whose saxophone weaves through the synthetic landscape like a lost memory in a digital dream. This isn’t just a song that soundtracks the club; it is the club – the sweat-slicked dance floor, the fleeting glances, the whispered confessions in smoke-filled corners, and the bittersweet ache of love found and lost before the morning’s harsh glare.
As the track unfolds, the interplay of light and darkness becomes a central theme: “Light, light, light / Washes over you / Night, night, night / What it takes from you.” “Leipzig” transcends mere club banger status, evolving into a meditation on the delicate balance of connection – what we willingly give away in the pursuit of another’s gaze, and what ethereal essence remains when the final beat fades into the silence of dawn.
For those who’ve been entranced by Bootblacks’ frenetic live performances across North America and Europe since their formation in 2010, “Leipzig” is a potent distillation of their core essence: a captivating balance of introspective depth and buoyant energy, a sound that simultaneously nods to the ghosts of post-punk past while forging a distinctly modern path. Their Artoffact Records debut, 2020’s acclaimed “Thin Skies,” solidified their place as innovators in the scene.
With a sonic evolution that began with their 2012 debut EP “Narrowed” (which included a collaboration with the legendary Jim Sclavunos of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds), and continued through the post-punk explorations of 2016’s “Veins” and the synth-heavy atmospheres of 2017’s “Fragments,” Bootblacks have consistently defied complacency. “Fragments,” in particular, propelled them onto numerous “best-of” lists and secured their status as a must-see live act, leading to appearances at prestigious festivals like Cold Waves and Wave Gotik Treffen.
Now, with “Leipzig,” Bootblacks offer a tantalizing glimpse into their forthcoming album, “Paradise,” set to bloom on June 13th, 2025, via Artoffact Records. Pre-order your slice of this neon-lit utopia now and prepare to lose yourself in the shimmering soundscapes they’ve crafted.

Deep Dive into the Bootblacks’ Illuminated World: 🎧🌃
From the frostbitten landscapes of Finland, where even the heavy metal is forged in the heart of a dying sun, Battle Beast, a name that conjures images of both brutal power and soaring melodies, has unleashed their latest single, “Last Goodbye,” a taste of their seventh studio album, set to detonate later this year. With six studio albums already under their studded belts, four of which clawed their way to #1 in their homeland, and a lineup that could shatter glaciers with a single power chord, Battle Beast is not a band content to rest on their laurels. “Last Goodbye” is a testament to their enduring fire, a sonic Molotov cocktail hurled into the face of oblivion.
Eero Sipilä, the band’s bassist and a key lyricist, reveals the unlikely genesis of this anthemic track: “The spark for Last Goodbye was lit in the least rock ’n roll place imaginable: a hospital. In 2020, I spent a few weeks there and met an older woman battling cancer—a fight she’d been waging on and off since 1985. It made me wonder: how much can a person take before they give up? But she never did. She kept showing up, kept pushing through the treatments, kept being around. Last Goodbye is a tribute to that human fighting spirit—the will to rise every time life knocks you down. As long as you’re breathing, you’re still in the game.” This personal anecdote adds a layer of raw, human resilience to the band’s already epic sound, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, the will to fight can become a symphony.
“Last Goodbye” is more than just a catchy metal tune; it’s a battle cry for a world teetering on the edge. It’s a reminder that even when faced with insurmountable odds, the human spirit can endure, a theme that resonates deeply with Battle Beast’s signature blend of power and symphonic metal. The track is a potent mix of Noora Louhimo’s soaring vocals, the band’s trademark thunderous riffs, and a melancholic undercurrent that speaks to the fragility of existence.
To further fuel the flames of their impending sonic assault, Battle Beast has also announced a massive European tour, commencing on October 17th, 2025, with a colossal headline show in Hamburg, Germany. Joining them on this metal pilgrimage are Dominum, purveyors of melodic metal mayhem, and Sweden’s rising power metal force, Majestica, ensuring a night of unadulterated metal supremacy.
13-Dec-25 Czech Republic, Zlin – Sports Hall Datart
14-Dec-25 Poland, Warsaw – Progresja
With their “Circus Of Doom – Live in Helsinki 2023” album, released earlier this year, Battle Beast proved their live prowess is as formidable as their studio recordings. This 117-minute spectacle, captured in their hometown, is a testament to their enduring power and a must-have for any self-respecting metalhead. But rest assured, this is not the end of the tale. Battle Beast is already forging a new chapter, one that promises to be even more explosive, more visceral, and more unforgettable.
Emerging from the digital sprawl of Berlin, alt-electro newcomer Mintage is injecting a fresh dose of corrupted code into the scene with his second single, “Rag Doll,” released just in time for his inaugural live performance at the Out Of Line Weekender Festival on May 10th, 2025. Signed to Out Of Line Music, Mintage isn’t just making music; he’s crafting sonic viruses that infect your consciousness with a blend of raw emotion and synthesized rebellion. “Rag Doll” is the latest transmission from this artist, a track that pulses with a dark, energetic heart, yet bleeds with the vulnerability of a discarded android.
“Rag Doll” isn’t your typical synth-pop fluff; it’s a raw data stream directly from Mintage’s fractured psyche. As the artist himself describes it, the track is “a raw confrontation with what it means to be truly connected,” a digital mirror reflecting two conflicting inner voices. One voice seeks solace in unwavering trust, a warmth likened to a cherished (and perhaps malfunctioning) plush companion. The other voice, however, bears the digital scars of abandonment, the cold, hard drive of a discarded toy.
This track isn’t just about catchy hooks and danceable beats; it’s about forcing you to confront uncomfortable questions in the neon-drenched alleys of your own mind. What does it truly mean to be a friend in this hyper-connected, yet utterly isolated world? Do you possess the processing power to accept both the sacrifices and the betrayals that come bundled with loyalty? Mintage doesn’t offer any sugar-coated answers; “Rag Doll” is a stark reminder that genuine connection isn’t a commodity to be bought and sold, but a hard-earned reward, forged in the messy, glitchy reality of human (and perhaps synthetic) interaction.
Mintage elaborates on the personal source code behind “Rag Doll”: “I wrote this song about a mistake I made. A mistake that might for others not even be one, but for me it was the beginning of a broken friendship. That day I introduced two friends of mine to each other and they got along pretty well – too well. I think we all know this feeling of being replaced, being used by friends you think are loyal to you. But some small situations tell more about a person than any word they could say to you. I am that Rag Doll, only being played with if they’re in the mood. And if there’s a new toy, I might just dust for eternity in that closet.” This raw honesty, this willingness to expose his own vulnerabilities, is what sets Mintage apart from the army of synth-drenched clones flooding the digital airwaves.
Before unleashing “Rag Doll” upon the world, Mintage made significant waves with his previous single, “Bad 4 You,” a track accompanied by a visually arresting video that earned him the title of “Best EDM & Dance Music Video” at the Europe Music Video Awards, and an Honorable Mention for Experimental Music Video at the MMVAs. This video, a hyper-industrial fever dream, mirrored the song’s themes of emotional malfunction, fractured identity, and intense introspection, showcasing Mintage’s commitment to creating a complete sensory experience.
With “Rag Doll,” Mintage continues his mission to redefine electronic music, wielding his self-proclaimed “hyperbass” style like a sonic weapon. This genre-bending fusion of dark electro, alternative, and hyperpop, filtered through a lens of raw emotion and avant-garde artistry, is a force to be reckoned with. Mintage isn’t just an artist; he’s a digital architect, building soundscapes that are as unpredictable as they are unforgettable. He’s an artistic anomaly, driven by emotional chaos, fascinated by the bizarre code of human behavior, and fueled by a burning desire for sonic rebellion.
From the desolate plains of North Dakota, a storm of depressive black metal has emerged. Ghost Bath, the sonic entity masterminded by the artist known only as Nameless (aka Dennis Mikula), has unleashed their latest full-length album, “Rose Thorn Necklace,” upon a world already teetering on the brink. Released on May 9th, 2025, via Nuclear Blast Records, this album is not for the faint of heart. It’s a journey into the abyss, a soundtrack for the end times, and a testament to the enduring power of bleakness.
In their twelfth year of existence, Ghost Bath shows no signs of softening their edges. Instead, “Rose Thorn Necklace” sees Nameless (Dennis Mikula), the band’s sole constant member, embracing his most antisocial tendencies, sharpening his sound into a weaponized form of melancholic aggression. This album is a rusty blade, honed to a razor’s edge over years of sonic toil. To further enhance this vision of sonic ruin, the band has also released a visualizer for the track “Vodka Butterfly,” a swirling vortex of bleak imagery and crushing soundscapes.
Nameless (Dennis Mikula) offered a brief, yet ominous statement regarding the album’s release: “Rose Thorn Necklace is now yours. This latest offering is very special, and we hope you take from it whatever you need.” What you might need, however, may be a strong dose of therapy after immersing yourself in this sonic landscape.
“Rose Thorn Necklace” was forged in the fires of 2024, between January and June. The percussive onslaught was captured by Mike Heller (of Fear Factory fame) at Heaven and Heller Studios, while Nameless (Dennis Mikula) handled the remaining instrumentation in his home studio, creating a stark contrast between the raw power and the introspective darkness. The resulting mix, courtesy of Jack Shirley, is a dense and suffocating experience, perfectly complemented by the haunting cover artwork created by Ksenija Tarasova.
Free from the conceptual constraints of the “Moonlover-Starmourner-Self Loather” trilogy, “Rose Thorn Necklace” sees Nameless (Dennis Mikula) delving into the most intense and introspective corners of Ghost Bath’s sonic palette. Expect blackened blasts, melancholic movements, and a general sense of unease as Ghost Bath drags you, kicking and screaming, into the unknown.
“’40 years on and the guitars still try to strangle each other, the words still struggle to make sense of chaos and the rhythms drive us to a glorious destination.’ ~David Wolfenden of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry”
Seminal post-punk legends Red Lorry Yellow Lorry are set to release their long-awaited and final album, “Strange Kind of Paradise,” this July via COP International. This album, nearly two decades in the making, marks the poignant conclusion to the Leeds, England band’s remarkable career.
Despite their years, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry retain every bit of their signature edge and swagger. “Strange Kind of Paradise” burns with the raw intensity that made them so compelling from the start, thrashing against the chaos of modern life and grappling with themes of disillusionment, survival, and fleeting transcendence.
Arriving after their acclaimed “Driving Black” EP from late 2024, “Strange Kind of Paradise” is now available for preorder via Bandcamp from COP International in limited edition vinyl and CD formats, as well as across all digital and streaming platforms. The track “Walking On Air” is currently available for streaming exclusively on Bandcamp.

“The Bestiary” was recorded by the renowned Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Wolves in the Throne Room, Björk) and mixed by Jonathan Nuñez (Torche, Restless Spirit), ensuring a sonic journey of epic proportions.

Chicago’s electro-rock quartet, Comasoft, have made a triumphant return with their brand new EP, “Gather at the End,” released on April 25th via Moth in a Flame! The EP features five fresh tracks, including the previously released singles “Numbing” and “Firebomb.”
Produced at BLVM3 Studios in Chicago, “Gather at the End” features founding member Tomasz Banach alongside Ramirez, Christopher Lee, and Chris Cambell. This marks Comasoft’s first new music since 2023’s “Finis Temporis” and 2015’s “Let’s go All the Way” EP.
This new EP is particularly significant as it celebrates the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut release on Moth in a Flame Records. Over two decades, the band has released two full-length albums, four EPs, and numerous singles, including their college radio hit “10volt.” While band members have evolved, Comasoft continues to deliver a sound that feels both fresh and reminiscent of iconic bands like The Cure, Placebo, and Gary Numan, all wrapped in an 80s neon aesthetic. Ramirez’s new romantic vocals blend seamlessly with powerful synthesizers and sharp guitars.
Gather at the End Tracklisting:
Fire Bomb
Restless Life
Numbing (Perchance)

Trapped in a Vial
For those who came of age in Chicago between Generation X and Millennial, Comasoft was a familiar face in the city’s dark, fog-filled clubs, sharing stages with electro-glam contemporaries and supporting major acts like Madina Lake, Hawthorne Heights, Breathe Carolina, The Presets, and Kill Hannah, as well as dark electronic artists such as IAMX, Apoptygma Berzerk, and Stabbing Westward.
Comasoft made their long-awaited return to the stage this past November, opening for a sold-out hometown show with Stabbing Westward. Riding high on the energy of that performance, Jay Ramirez and Comasoft focused on completing their new EP and booking more shows in 2025. Upcoming dates include a headlining show at Cobra Lounge in Chicago on April 25th and supporting EBM legends Leaether Strip in Columbus, Ohio on July 11th. More dates for 2025 are expected to be announced soon.
