ANGELSPIT’S 11TH ALBUM, ANGELSPIT’S MOST BRUTAL ALBUM TO DATE ‘THE STAR’ (‘THE BASTARD GODS’) IS KICKSTARTING NOW.

The album, set to release in August 2023, is described as Angelspit’s most brutal to date, combining industrial, cyberpunk, and electro-industrial genres.
The Kickstarter campaign offers various formats, including digital, CD, vinyl, tape, and USB. The USB version includes sample libraries, MP3 and WAV files, and a bonus experimental noise EP. Additionally, merchandise such as T-shirts, collars, patches, zines, pins, and stickers are available. You can find more details on the Kickstarter campaign here.
Four tracks from the album are already released on Spotify, which you can listen to here.

“The Star” incorporates unique elements, with melodies created from samples of scraping and bashing large springs and metal sculptures, resulting in a gritty and edgy sound. The album features war drums by Dave NATO from 4th Wall and prominently includes the Blaster Beam, a loud and aggressive instrument. The lyrics explore the impact of new technology on personal interactions, access to factual news, the widening class system, and emerging underclass.
The album’s original title, “The Bastard Gods,” was redacted to “The Star” due to algorithmic restrictions. The album delves into the increasing influence of algorithms and their effects on content censorship and manipulation, referred to as “Bastard Gods.”
Angelspit, a Cyberpunk/Industrial act with a 20-year history, has released over 25 albums and produced numerous remixes. They emphasize independent innovation and encourage artists to pursue their own creative paths.

The band’s second full-length album is currently in the works and will feature long-time collaborator Joost van den Broek.
“My Soul’s Demise” explores the theme of love and pain, delving into the sacrifices one is willing to make for their loved ones. Inspired by the medieval practice of sin-eating, the song draws parallels between consuming sins and personal experiences. Lead vocalist Zora Cock shares her personal connection to the lyrics, which were influenced by her father’s struggles with psychosis and the story of a sin eater from England.

Blackbriar’s growing success led to notable live performances alongside renowned bands like Epica, Halestorm, In This Moment, Delain, and Mayan. With a dedicated fanbase and a strong online presence, the band successfully crowdfunded their debut full-length album, “The Cause of Shipwreck,” in 2020. Floridian death metal legends, MASSACRE, have released a surprise live album titled “Submergence: Live Beyond 2019” today, digitally available through Nuclear Blast Records. The record showcases a monumental performance of their highly sought-after debut album, “From Beyond,” played in its entirety. The lineup features Kam Lee on vocals, Rick Rozz on guitar, Mike Borders on bass, and Mike Mazonetto on drums. Coinciding with the album release, the band is embarking on an East Coast tour with MORTA SKULD and DRUID LORD, starting tonight in Miami, FL.
MASSACRE, hailing from Southern Florida, rose to prominence in the early 80s alongside death metal pioneers like DEATH, OBITUARY, and SIX FEET UNDER. Their legacy began with a series of revered demos: “Aggressive Tyrant” (1986), “Chamber of Ages” (1986), and “The Second Coming” (1990). They later released their critically acclaimed debut album, “From Beyond” (1991). In 2021, the band made a highly anticipated return with “Resurgence.” The album showcased the original members, Kam Lee (vocals) and Mike Borders (bass), alongside renowned death metal musicians Rogga Johansson, Jonny Pettersson, Scott Fairfax, and Brynjar Helgetun, resulting in a powerful record produced by Dan Swanö and engineered by Jonny Pettersson.

Vocalist Kam Lee shares his thoughts on the live record: “This release is for the fans. It’s all about fan service, dedicated to those who truly wanted it and asked for it. It’s the closest thing to the original lineup of ‘From Beyond.’ This was the first time we performed all of ‘From Beyond’ live. It marked the return of MASSACRE since their reformation in 2017, and it was also the first show with Mike Borders since 1987. It proved that MASSACRE was back, showcasing their resurgence and delving into the band’s legacy.”
