🕯️ PROTOKOLL 19 Unleashes Haunting New Single “When Will It End” — First Glimpse of Upcoming EP 💀
American dark electronic outfit PROTOKOLL 19 has just revealed their latest sonic descent with the release of “When Will It End,” the chilling first single from their forthcoming EP Somewhere Between Purgatory and Hell, out via Danse Macabre Records.

Blending harsh, melodic synths with vocals that snarl and sear, the track is a perfect taste of what’s to come: bleak beauty, throbbing atmosphere, and emotional catharsis wrapped in electronic aggression.
“When we find ourselves in a dark place, it often feels like there’s no way out,” the band shares. “The longer it continues, the harder it becomes to engage with life. We isolate, haunted by thoughts that never quite leave—they lurk, just out of reach.”
Each track from the EP will be released as a single in the months ahead, culminating in a full digital package with bonus remixes once the final song drops. Somewhere Between Purgatory and Hell promises to be a slow-burning confession—an unraveling of trauma, darkness, and the will to survive it.

🔥 DESERTED FEAR Unleash “Veins of Fire” — A Blazing Statement from Germany’s Death Metal Vanguard 💀

East German death metal titans DESERTED FEAR are back and burning hotter than ever with their upcoming sixth full-length, Veins of Fire, arriving April 25, 2025 via Testimony Records. If you thought they’d peaked—you weren’t paying attention. This isn’t a band resting on old bones. This is a band melting the throne to forge a new one.
From the very first track, Veins of Fire erupts with sharpened songwriting, tighter grooves, and a noticeable step forward in vocal dynamics from frontman Manuel “Mahne” Glatter. Their trademark blend of punishing riffage and melodic sensibility is still front and center—but there’s a newfound precision, clarity, and fire that sets this release ablaze.

Thematically, DESERTED FEAR dig deep into the shadows of modern life—confronting disillusionment, division, environmental collapse, and the enduring will to resist. Veins of Fire doesn’t sermonize—it reflects, with an unflinching stare and clenched fists. It’s a mirror held up to a world unraveling, but also a torch for those refusing to be swallowed by the dark.
Recorded and produced by Fabian Hildebrandt at Eisensound Studio, the album is brought to life with stunning cover art by Roberto Toderico and layout by Chris Orosz. It’s bold, blistering, and absolutely essential.
Since their 2012 debut My Empire (produced by Dan Swanö), the band has steadily climbed the ranks with albums like Kingdom of Worms and Doomsday, earning a spot at the top of Germany’s extreme metal scene. Their live pedigree includes over 250 shows across Europe and appearances alongside Obituary, At The Gates, Morbid Angel, and more.
Now, with Veins of Fire and a full-blown tour on the horizon, DESERTED FEAR are sounding more confident, dangerous, and relevant than ever.

⚔️ AVENGER OF BLOOD Return to the Frontlines with “Revenge Is My Name” and a New Era of Thrash 💀

Once forged in the fires of the Bay Area thrash scene, AVENGER OF BLOOD has spent the past two decades carving a path of pure sonic devastation. After relocating to Las Vegas following a pair of raw and furious demos, the band scored a deal with JCM Records, unleashing their 2005 debut Complete Annihilation—a scorched-earth statement that quickly earned them global underground recognition.
From there, AVENGER OF BLOOD hit the metal circuit hard, storming festivals like Minneapolis Mayhem, Monsters of Metal, and Northwest Deathfest, and landing a coveted spot on the legendary Speed Kills… Again compilation alongside rising acts like Warbringer, Toxic Holocaust, and Enforcer—a release that helped ignite the modern thrash resurgence.

Their momentum built to a crescendo with the 2008 full-length Death Brigade, issued via Heavy Artillery Records and featuring blistering artwork by the iconic Joe Petagno (Motörhead, Krisiun, Sodom). But the machine hit a snag when founding frontman Eric Greaney and bassist Shawn Loureiro departed, briefly stalling the band’s upward trajectory.
Undeterred, co-founders Shannon Frye and Marc Flores pressed forward, rebuilding the ranks and keeping the flame alive with releases like the Spawn of Evil EP (2012), a split 7” with Witchaven, and the raging On Slaying Ground LP (2016).
Now locked and loaded with their most solid lineup to date—featuring Sal Lalli on vocals, Chris Garcia on guitar, and Corey Sorrenti on bass—AVENGER OF BLOOD is officially back with sharpened teeth and a vendetta to match.
Last year, the band revisited their roots by re-recording their debut as Completely Re-Annihilated, bringing fresh blood to classic cuts and hitting the stage at Blades of Steel Fest alongside legends like Flotsam & Jetsam, Exciter, Vio-lence, and Jag Panzer. They also supported Death Angel and Ruthless on select shows in California and Nevada, signaling their official return to the live battlefield.
Their upcoming full-length Revenge Is My Name is now in the works, with a 2026 release planned—and the band has already begun to unveil what’s next through unrelenting live performances.
The blood is still fresh. The riffs are still lethal. And AVENGER OF BLOOD is here to remind you that thrash never dies—it just gets louder.

🕳 Room 23 Music Releases “Under Your Skin” by CN^2 & Mel Agony — A Dark Descent into Sonic Intimacy 💀

Room 23 Music has just unveiled “Under Your Skin”—a brooding new collaboration between CN^2 (the introspective alias of Cubic Nomad) and the hauntingly evocative Mel Agony. This single-track release isn’t here to get stuck in your head—it’s here to burrow under your skin, where it belongs.

A slow-burning elegy dripping in melancholic mood, “Under Your Skin” lives in the tension between trip hop unease and dark ambient erosion. Fractured rhythms stumble beneath ghost-like vocals, with Mel Agony’s voice floating like a sorrowful memory you can’t quite shake. The result is a minimalist fever dream—sensual, unsettling, and utterly captivating.
A poisoned lullaby for lovers of the void.
Elegantly restrained and emotionally raw, “Under Your Skin” captures the fragile line between detachment and desire, where every breath feels like it’s echoing from the bottom of an abandoned cathedral. It’s not just a song—it’s a feeling left behind in a room long after the light’s gone out.

🛸 LOCKJAW Emerges from the Shadows with New Single “We Are Alien” 💀

Milwaukee’s own industrial insurgents LOCKJAW have dropped a fierce new transmission from the edge of the dark dance dimension: “We Are Alien”, self-released on February 18 and already shaking the speakers of the underground.

A slow-burning banger laced with dystopian dread and rhythmic defiance, “We Are Alien” plunges deep into themes of social isolation, identity, and equality—a brooding anthem for those who’ve never fit the mold and never wanted to.
With a sonic blend that hovers somewhere between electro-industrial, darkwave, and EBM, the track offers gritty synth textures, distorted basslines, and vocals that bite with both sorrow and fire. It’s a direct message from the margins: We are alien… and we are not alone.
LOCKJAW isn’t new to the abyss. They’ve shared stages with the likes of Marilyn Manson and Powerman 5000, carving their name into the alt-industrial underground with brutal honesty and dancefloor menace. “We Are Alien” solidifies their place as Midwest torchbearers for dark sonic rebellion.

Despite these changes, the electronic music industry experienced a 17% revenue increase in 2023, highlighting a continued desire for communal musical experiences.

⚡ FIRSTBORNE Ignites a New Era with M-Theory Audio and Blazing New Single “Wake Up” 💀

Brace yourself—FIRSTBORNE, the hard rock and heavy metal juggernaut featuring some of the genre’s heaviest hitters, has officially joined the ranks of M-Theory Audio. To celebrate, the band has dropped a blistering new single and music video, “Wake Up,” now streaming for those brave enough to hit play.

🎥 Watch “Wake Up” now
Directed by Drew Kaufman (Two Minutes to Late Night), the video blends thunderous riffs with tongue-in-cheek flair, giving fans a dose of FIRSTBORNE’s signature mix of shred, swagger, and self-awareness.
FIRSTBORNE isn’t just a supergroup—they’re a full-throttle collision of talent and tone. Featuring legendary drummer Chris Adler (Lamb of God, Megadeth), guitar hero Myrone (yes, the soft shred pioneer himself), and powerhouse vocalist Girish Pradhan (Girish and the Chronicles, The End Machine), the band fuses classic metal roots with modern energy, soaring hooks, and surgical-level precision.

Formed in 2019, FIRSTBORNE made early waves with a series of independently released EPs and singles from 2020–2023, blending melodic mastery with enough groove to shake tectonic plates. Now they’re leveling up with their first full-length album Lucky, produced by the one and only Machine (Clutch, King Crimson, Crobot)—and due out July 18th via M-Theory Audio.
🛒 Pre-order Lucky now on limited-edition colored vinyl, CD, or digital.
Guitarist Myrone offers a glimpse into the creative chaos:
“When Chris, Girish, and I finally got in a room together, it was a dream. We wrote everything in real-time at Machine’s barn in Texas. I came in with 150 songs… and we used zero. What you hear was born right there, right then.”
Between Adler’s iconic rhythm work, Myrone’s neon-shred precision, and Pradhan’s genre-defining vocals, FIRSTBORNE is an electrified fist to the face of the modern metal scene—built for stages, playlists, and repeat button abuse.

🌌 KARDASHEV Plants the “Seed of the Night” with New Single & Video from Upcoming Album “Alunea” 💀

Progressive deathgaze voyagers KARDASHEV have released their stunning new single “Seed of the Night”—a beautifully heavy piece of cosmic philosophy wrapped in melodic breakdowns and emotional gravity. The track arrives ahead of the band’s next full-length transmission, Alunea, set to drop April 25th via Metal Blade Records.
🌱 Of Myth, Meaning & Melody
The single’s title might suggest fantasy—but “Seed of the Night” is pure Kardashev: deeply human, painfully introspective, and spiritually celestial.
“This is Sky-Brother explaining to a newly born being—Atlas—that they were created to carry humanity’s legacy to a place our species could never reach,” explains vocalist Mark Garrett. “That burden shapes them, and in that weight, they find purpose… and pain.”
Musically, the band trades tired deathcore chugs for what they call the “funk-down”—a melodically rich, rhythmically diverse evolution of the breakdown. Think space opera meets math rock meets soul-punching post-metal.
“We wanted to deconstruct the ‘epic moment’ trope,” adds guitarist Nico Mirolla, “and build an entire song that earns it through patience and progression—not just brute force.”

💿 Alunea Drops April 25th via Metal Blade Records
A direct sequel to The Almanac, Alunea continues Kardashev’s mythos with intricate lore, introspective lyricism, and sonic world-building. The album features:
- Guest vocals from Erin (Genital Shame) on “Speak Silence”
- Ethereal duduk instrumentation by Pawel JJ Przybysz on “We Could Fold The Stars”
- Artwork by Karl E.
- Mixed/mastered by Zack Ohren (Entheos, Machine Head, Fallujah)
The album also incorporates constructed language (“conlang”) created by Garrett, adding new linguistic and cultural layers to the story of Atlas and Sky-Brother.
“I used to make up grammar rules while working at a call center,” Garrett admits. “Eventually, that evolved into a language that became part of this universe we’re building.”

⚔️ HATE Wages “Bellum Regiis” Upon the Masses This May via Metal Blade Records 💀

Polish blackened death metal war machine HATE has just declared their thirteenth full-length record Bellum Regiis will land with full force on May 2nd via Metal Blade Records—and it’s coming for blood, bone, and belief systems.
🎥 The first strike? “Iphigenia.”
Watch it here
With nearly three decades of sonic devastation behind them, HATE isn’t resting on their corpse-pile of accolades. Bellum Regiis (“The War of Kings”) channels a new era of calculated aggression—icy, atmospheric, and epically brutal. Think tectonic riffs, scarred vocals, orchestral whispers, and drums that don’t just blast—they detonate.
Produced by David Castillo (Candlemass, Carcass, Katatonia), this nine-track juggernaut sees ATF Sinner, Domin, Nar-Sil, and Tiermes dissecting the nature of power, sacrifice, and the scars etched into human history by kings, tyrants, and blind obedience.

💀 From Iphigenia to Inferi: Themes That Bleed
Lead single “Iphigenia” draws from Greek tragedy—a tale of ritual sacrifice, choice, and fate, drenched in betrayal and divine pressure.
“Is it monstrous to offer your child to the gods?” asks Sinner.
“Or is it divine to willingly die for your people?”
This is the kind of existential devastation that HATE thrives in.
Meanwhile, the album’s title track explores the eternal struggle for power—its seduction, its cost, and its scars. Female vocals from Eliza Sacharczuk and sweeping orchestration add haunted grandeur, while black metal elements cut through with sharpened precision.

🩸KING810 release K6: Rustbelt Nu Metal — A Monument Forged in Fire 💀

It’s done. K6: Rustbelt Nu Metal is in the can—and what happened inside that room was nothing short of legendary.
What was captured can’t be measured: not in decibels, not in hours, not in tracks.
It was raw devotion, feral love, and total surrender to the moment.
A monument was built in sound—and you were the mortar.
Every scream, every voice—your voices—now live inside this record.
🩸 Even the careless mind will never forget what happened here.

To our crew: your planning and execution made this impossible thing breathe.
To you, our FAMILY—whether you were in the room or pre-ordering from the shadows—this belongs to all of us.

💉 DAWN OF ASHES Declares War on the Pulse with “Hypertensive Crisis” 💀

Los Angeles’ purveyors of industrial terror DAWN OF ASHES return with a new high-pressure dose of mechanized aggression: Hypertensive Crisis. This latest sonic assault marks a new chapter in the band’s legacy of apocalyptic audio warfare—where harsh electronics, blackened metal, and dystopian rage collide under a biohazard moon.
💀 This is not music. This is vital collapse.
Listen to Hypertensive Crisis here
Following the wake of 2022’s Scars of the Broken and 2023’s experimental deep cuts, Hypertensive Crisis finds Kristof Bathory and crew doubling down on chaotic BPMs, clinical distortion, and lyrical themes that bleed paranoia, medical horror, and psychic overload. Think surgical steel sharpened in a rave dungeon—frenzied, hypnotic, and violently cathartic.

⚠️ Sound Like Your Heart’s Exploding? Good.
From cyber-hospital aesthetics to BPMs that mimic cardiac arrest, Hypertensive Crisis is the sound of systems failing—on a personal, societal, and biological level. Fans of Psyclon Nine, Suicide Commando, and the raw early days of DOA will feel the pulse… or the lack of one.
The tracklisting and visuals for the release remain under wraps, but if the teaser campaign is any indication, this era will be DOA’s most volatile yet.

🌑 V▲LH▲LL Conjures the End Times with New Album “Skymningsdjur” 💀

Out April 4, 2025 via Artoffact Records
The veil is thinning. The twilight beasts are stirring.
Swedish duo V▲LH▲LL returns from the shadows with their long-awaited full-length album Skymningsdjur, arriving April 4, 2025 via Artoffact Records.
An evolutionary leap into sonic darkness, Skymningsdjur is the band’s first full-length release since 2021’s NEVERSLEEP—a cult classic in the witch house underground. This new offering plunges even deeper into spectral atmospheres, ritual electronics, and minimalist dread, fusing elements of neofolk, grave wave, and ritualistic witch house into a singular storm of apocalyptic beauty.
📦 Media and press received early access via Haulix on March 10. Reviews and rituals are now being summoned.

🕯 The Singles That Summoned the Storm
Over the past year, V▲LH▲LL have offered glimpses of their dark evolution through a series of haunting singles:
- “Nocturnal Eyes” (April 2024): A spectral dirge that lingered like dream residue
- “Little Noises” (June 2024): Sparse, creeping minimalism that whispered in static
- “Hunger” (August 2024): Brooding and guttural, pulsing with ritual dread
- “Calling for Storms” (Current single): The incantation before collapse
Each release served as a cryptic breadcrumb—leading us to this moment.
If Skymningsdjur signals the end of days, then V▲LH▲LL are the ones calling it down from the sky.

🔥 AVERSED Unleash “Burn” Video Amid the Chaos of New Album ‘Erasure of Color’ 💀

From the shadow-soaked corners of New England’s metal underground, AVERSED returns with Erasure of Color, a brutal and elegant firestorm of Gothic-laced melodic death metal—now out everywhere on digital and physical formats. To mark the occasion, the band has premiered a brand-new video for the track “Burn,” capturing the raw intensity of their live ritual in full flame.
Filmed in their home venue—The Middle East in Cambridge, MA—the video is pure adrenaline, fusing pit-swirling madness with visceral camera work and the band’s crushing stage presence.
“We unleashed our videographers into the crowd to brave the pit and capture the energy,” says guitarist Sungwoo Jeong. “They survived—and we’re glad we captured that amazing show for all eternity.”
But “Burn” isn’t just a pit anthem—it’s a multi-dimensional beast.
“It started as a big-stage anthem,” says drummer Jeff Saltzman. “Then we added a rumba-clave section, a bass solo, and lyrics about violent class revolution. Not exactly your standard metal banger—but that’s what defines AVERSED.”

⚙️ About the Album: Erasure of Color
Released independently with support from Bandcamp, indie retailers, and limited physical editions—including 300 smoked-colored vinyl and 100 cassette copies—Erasure of Color is a monumental statement of intent. The album is a tempest of progressive death metal, gothic melody, and extreme emotional depth.
“This isn’t just another album; it’s a rebirth… a powerful exploration of grief, fueled by melodic death metal.” – Decibel
“Think the bounce of mid-career The Agonist with the haunting widescreen talents of Oceans of Slumber.” – New Noise
Featuring artwork from Adam Burke (Unto Others, Gatecreeper) and orchestral arrangements by Vikram Shankar (Redemption, Silent Skies), the album was produced by bassist Alden Marchand and guitarist Sungwoo Jeong, with mixing by AJ Viana (Wormhole) and mastering by Brad Boatright (Code Orange, Obituary).
