Isidor Shifts Into Overdrive with New Single “Turbo Fighter”

The Serbian “Lord of Synth” fires up another neon-charged transmission as “Turbo Fighter” arrives through NewRetroWave—and a new album is already on the horizon.

The Lord of Synth Is Back

Isidor has returned with “Turbo Fighter,” a new release through NewRetroWave that pushes the Serbian producer deeper into the high-powered retro-futuristic territory that has become his signature.

For listeners already familiar with Isidor’s universe, the formula is unmistakable: pulsating electronic rhythms, towering synthesizers, cinematic atmosphere, and the feeling that somewhere between the speakers and your imagination, a neon-lit machine just roared to life.

NewRetroWave’s announcement keeps things beautifully direct: Isidor is back with another banger—and a new album is on the way. That second piece of information makes “Turbo Fighter” more than an isolated transmission. It becomes an early signal of whatever Isidor is preparing next.

Built for a Cyberpunk Future

Based in Novi Sad, Serbia, Isidor Bobinec has spent the better part of a decade constructing a distinctive corner of the synthwave landscape. His background includes classical music and trumpet performance before he moved into electronic production, eventually earning the fan-given title “Lord of Synth.”

His catalog stretches back to 2016’s Dark Night Genesis and includes releases such as 3218, Lord of Synth, Avalon Quest, Red Gem, and Stellarix. NewRetroWave has been an important part of that history; Avalon Quest, for example, was released through NewRetroWave Records in 2019.

Across those releases, Isidor has developed a sound built around detailed electronic production and futuristic world-building rather than simple ’80s nostalgia. Cyberpunk imagery, aggressive basslines, expansive synth arrangements and cinematic storytelling turn his music into something closer to a soundtrack for a universe that doesn’t exist yet.

“Turbo Fighter” continues that trajectory while its title practically begs for speed: arcade cabinets, glowing dashboards, impossible highways and machines pushed well past the redline.

More importantly, confirmation that a new Isidor album is coming gives the single additional weight. Details surrounding that forthcoming record remain limited, making “Turbo Fighter” the first glimpse into a larger chapter still waiting to reveal itself.

Isidor has never sounded particularly interested in standing still. With “Turbo Fighter” now entering the NewRetroWave universe and another album approaching, the Lord of Synth appears ready to hit the accelerator again.

NIGHT RIVALS Return with “Love Is A Crime For The Dirty Mind” and a New Chapter in Their Futurepop Story

The latest release from NIGHT RIVALS continues the project’s Futurepop series, pairing nostalgic synth textures with a modern sense of momentum and emotion.

NIGHT RIVALS have released their newest single, “Love Is A Crime For The Dirty Mind,” marking the second installment in the act’s ongoing Futurepop series. Following the foundation laid by previous releases, the track dives deeper into the sleek electronic soundscapes and emotionally charged songwriting that have become central to the NIGHT RIVALS identity.

“Love Is A Crime For The Dirty Mind” serves as Part 2 of the Futurepop journey. Built around shimmering synth lines, driving rhythms, and a strong melodic core, the song explores attraction, obsession, and the complicated spaces where emotion and desire intersect.

Expanding the Futurepop Universe

Rather than relying solely on nostalgia, NIGHT RIVALS continue refining their sound by blending classic Futurepop influences with contemporary production. The result feels less like a tribute to the genre’s past and more like a reminder of why the style resonated with listeners in the first place.

The release also includes the “Generation ’87 Remix,” offering an alternate perspective on the track while amplifying its retro-futuristic atmosphere. Longtime fans of synth-driven electronic music will recognize the influences, but the song’s personality keeps it from becoming a simple throwback exercise.

At its core, “Love Is A Crime For The Dirty Mind” is another step forward for a project that continues to carve out its own lane within the electronic underground. Each release reveals a little more of the vision behind NIGHT RIVALS, building a larger narrative one song at a time.

🎶 Listen Now

As the Futurepop series unfolds, NIGHT RIVALS are proving that the genre still has room to evolve without losing the emotional spark that made it compelling in the first place. With Love Is A Crime For The Dirty Mind and its accompanying Generation ’87 Remix, the project continues to demonstrate that thoughtful songwriting and strong melodies remain just as important as the technology behind the music.
