Simon Carter’s highly anticipated techno single, Pain & Pleasure, is officially here! After sharing a teaser of the title track on his private Facebook page, the overwhelming response and excitement led to its early release.
Carter, reflecting on a successful 2024, is starting the year strong with this dynamic new track. He promises more exciting releases in the months ahead.
Simon shared: “The response to the teaser was incredible, and I’m thrilled to finally share this track with you all. Your continued support inspires me, and I can’t wait for you to hear what’s next.”
VV & The Void has released a mesmerizing video for the track “It Is Happening Again”, taken from their spellbinding album The Cage, which debuted earlier this year. Frontwoman and visionary Valentina Veil describes the track as “a love song with a bittersweet feel—the last dance of hearts once in sync. Love fades, leaving empty spaces, and it’s hard to escape. Perhaps, in the end, we don’t really want to.” With poignant lyrics like “your lips still warm, the kiss before the fall”, the song captures a lingering sadness alongside a nostalgic yearning for what could have been.
The surreal and otherworldly video, created by LA-based filmmaker Sarah Bitely, perfectly complements the track’s emotional weight. Through striking phantasmagoric imagery, the video explores a realm where time and space defy logic, mirroring the song’s themes of love, loss, and longing.
Formed in Melbourne, Australia, VV & The Void made a powerful debut in 2018 with the critically lauded album The Upper Room. Known for their ethereal, gothic, and minimal-drone sound, their music explores the balance between grace and disproportion. Now based in Berlin, Valentina Veil has continued to carve an impressive path in the darkwave genre with a string of standout releases, frequent European performances, and collaborations with Metropolis Records artists like Night Nail.
Their latest album, The Cage, is available via Paris-based Icy Cold Records on vinyl, CD, and all major digital platforms.
Today, Baltimore-based alternative band 51 PEG releases their highly anticipated EP, Magnetic Memories. This latest offering highlights a departure from their signature heavy, dark sound, revealing a stripped-down, more straightforward approach. Inspired by the atmospheric textures of iconic 1980s alternative and new wave bands like The Cure and New Order, Magnetic Memories explores a different facet of the band’s musical identity while maintaining their emotional depth and intensity.
Adding to its nostalgic allure, the EP features a haunting cover of Peter Murphy’s timeless 1980s hit, Cuts You Up.
51 PEG first burst onto the scene in the early 2000s with their debut album, Strange Appointments. Over the years, the band has consistently evolved, releasing numerous works and captivating live audiences while sharing stages with acts like Stabbing Westward, Orgy, and The Birthday Massacre.
Magnetic Memories is now available on all major streaming platforms and digital outlets.
