Side-Line Magazine Presents “Electronic Bodies”: A Global EBM Charity Compilation

In 2023, Side-Line Magazine, based in Brussels (BE), proudly presents its latest endeavor, the charity compilation “Electronic Bodies,” a captivating collection of 88 tracks from the EBM (Electronic Body Music) underground scene.

This compilation delves deep into the rhythmic realms of EBM, New Beat, and their contemporary offshoots. Featuring artists from diverse corners of the globe, including Germany, Australia, the United States, Estonia, and beyond, it showcases the enduring global influence of EBM, a genre established over 40 years ago.

Side-Line’s commitment to promoting both emerging talents and established bands remains steadfast, as it continues to serve as a platform for launching new artists. Special recognition goes to Erlend Eilertsen (Lights A.M, Essence Of Mind) for skillfully enhancing certain tracks when necessary.

The “Electronic Bodies” compilation is a sonic journey divided into two distinct halves: the first immerses listeners in old-school vibes, while the latter grants bands greater creative freedom in terms of sound.

In a compassionate gesture, all donations from this endeavor will be directed toward providing psychological support to Ukrainian soldiers and citizens grappling with PTSD.

For those who relish a tangible connection to the music, Side-Line offers an exclusive ‘Electronic Bodies’ T-shirt. In true EBM spirit, there’s also a combo package available, which includes a limited edition, hand-numbered Electronic Bodies flask. Each merchandise order includes a download of the compilation, ensuring the beats never cease.

Shipping for merchandise orders is scheduled for the first week of October. Early ordering is encouraged to help gauge stock requirements.

Side-Line’s legacy of impactful compilations includes releases such as “The Insane Vaults,” “Face The Beat: Sessions 1-7,” “Shane Aungst vs Face The Beat Megamixes,” “Post-Punk (Genesis),” “Electronic Resistance,” “Electronic Resistance – Reconstruction,” “Ukraina EP,” and now, “Electronic Bodies: Session 1.”

New Music Release News

ANGELSPIT’S 11TH ALBUM, ANGELSPIT’S MOST BRUTAL ALBUM TO DATE ‘THE STAR’ (‘THE BASTARD GODS’) IS KICKSTARTING NOW.

The album, set to release in August 2023, is described as Angelspit’s most brutal to date, combining industrial, cyberpunk, and electro-industrial genres.

The Kickstarter campaign offers various formats, including digital, CD, vinyl, tape, and USB. The USB version includes sample libraries, MP3 and WAV files, and a bonus experimental noise EP. Additionally, merchandise such as T-shirts, collars, patches, zines, pins, and stickers are available. You can find more details on the Kickstarter campaign here.

Four tracks from the album are already released on Spotify, which you can listen to here.

“The Star” incorporates unique elements, with melodies created from samples of scraping and bashing large springs and metal sculptures, resulting in a gritty and edgy sound. The album features war drums by Dave NATO from 4th Wall and prominently includes the Blaster Beam, a loud and aggressive instrument. The lyrics explore the impact of new technology on personal interactions, access to factual news, the widening class system, and emerging underclass.

The album’s original title, “The Bastard Gods,” was redacted to “The Star” due to algorithmic restrictions. The album delves into the increasing influence of algorithms and their effects on content censorship and manipulation, referred to as “Bastard Gods.”

Angelspit, a Cyberpunk/Industrial act with a 20-year history, has released over 25 albums and produced numerous remixes. They emphasize independent innovation and encourage artists to pursue their own creative paths.
