Argentina’s Underground Enters Another Dimension
Buenos Aires solo project Sektor Voltage returns with En otra dimensión, an eight-track collision of EBM, post-punk, coldwave, synth-punk, and dark ’80s electronics. Released June 6, 2026, the album is the fourth full-length from producer, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Nicolás Pomilio, balancing bleak atmosphere with relentless, dance-driven energy.
Motorik Motion, Post-Punk Guitars and EBM Machinery
Motorik rhythms and electronic basslines provide the album’s backbone while raw guitars, futuristic synths, and Pomilio’s cavernous vocals push Sektor Voltage deeper into the territory between human emotion and machinery. Drawing from German electronics, Belgian New Beat, EBM, and post-punk, En otra dimensión builds on influences ranging from Kraftwerk and Front 242 to The Cure and early Ministry.
First single “In den Verborgenen Wäldern” (In the Hidden Forests) captures that contrast, pairing mechanical electronics with a music video following Pomilio through isolated natural landscapes.
Built in the Bunker
The album’s hands-on production reinforces its underground character. Pomilio recorded with a Zoom R8 Portastudio, Kawai R50e drums, Korg Monologue bass, Korg Volca FM, MicroKorg, Yamaha QY10, and Casio SA, combining MIDI programming with live synths, percussion, guitars, and vocals before completing the final master in Ableton.
A Darker Evolution of Sektor Voltage
Since forming Sektor Voltage in 2020, Pomilio has evolved from techno, New Beat, EBM, and darkwave toward a more organic hybrid of electronics, guitar, and voice. Following Amor a mi negra lista (2023), Animal en extinción (2024), and Oscura noche del alma (2025), En otra dimensión pushes that evolution into more metaphysical territory, imagining the soul slipping beyond visible reality through dark, hypnotic, danceable sound.
Whether that other dimension is spiritual, psychological, or musical is left to the listener.
