Seattle’s Degraved invades the death metal underground with their full-length debut “Spectral Realm of Ruin,” embracing the grime of ’90s fury and modern sonic decay.
The Assault Begins
The album dropped on November 14, 2025 via Dark Descent Records and the co-label Me Saco Un Ojo. Dark Descent Records+2Dark Descent Records+2 Degraved’s circuitous path from demos and EPs to this full-blown eruption finds them harnessing the raw energy of early death metal and injecting it with a biting edge. What to Expect
Soundscape: Blast beats, cavernous guitars, snarled vocals soaked in morbidity — Degraved mix furious brutality with eerie atmosphere. Degraved+1
Influences: You’ll hear echoes of Morbid Angel, Immolation, and the raw “old school death metal” spirit. Degraved
Key tracks: “Pariah of Death & Darkness”, “Sulfuric Embalming” and “Unseen” are standout moments that deliver both speed and menace. Dark Descent Records+1
Production: Recorded at their home studio, mixed with the grime intact — no polish kills the character. Degraved
Degraved aren’t reinventing death metal — they’re re-invigorating it. That’s the hook: this is a band that doesn’t care about trends, cares about tearing flesh with riffs. As one review puts it:
Unleash your inner darkness—UNATØNED drops April 25 via Nuclear Blast Records
Bay Area titans MACHINE HEAD are back with a brutal vengeance. The band just dropped a high-octane music video for “BØNESCRAPER”, the second single from their upcoming eleventh studio album UNATØNED, and it’s every bit as feral, emotional, and relentless as fans hoped for.
“This one’s for those of us with darkness in our heart,” shares the band. “It’s about love lost, about those who fail at love… but keep on trying. We scrape our bones to numb the pain.”
Directed by longtime collaborator Mike Sloat, the video cuts deep—visually raw and emotionally charged. In addition to the single, the band has also announced a special BØNESCRAPER Edition LP of UNATØNED, limited to just 1,000 copies worldwide and shipping June 17.

The rising “Doom Bass” pioneers Antania are set to join industrial metal heavyweights Psyclon Nine on their highly anticipated ‘Devils Work’ Tour across the United States this spring. Known for their groundbreaking fusion of black metal, doom metal, and electronic bass music, Antania continues to captivate audiences with their innovative sound and visceral live performances.
Heralded as the inventors and champions of the “Doom Bass” subgenre, Antania has been active since June 2023, quickly carving a unique niche in the metal and electronic music scenes. Drawing influences from Slayer, Ministry, The Prodigy, Morbid Angel, and Deicide, the band has been likened to “the Slayer of bass music.”
The duo, composed of Dr. Luna (bass and electronics) and Kali Mortem (vocals), forgoes traditional string instruments, creating their sound by wrapping distortion around saw and sub-bass lines using a microbrute synthesizer. Sponsored by KAT Percussion, Dr. Luna delivers intricate polyrhythms over trap beats and blast beats, while Kali Mortem’s blackened, abrasive vocals evoke a haunting intensity.
“This tour is a dream collaboration,” said Dr. Luna, also a high priest at the Temple of Hecate in New York City. “We’re excited to bring our ‘Doom Bass’ sound to Psyclon Nine’s fans and see how the dark aesthetics of both bands resonate.”
Antania’s critically acclaimed debut album, The God Complex (January 2024, The Triad Records), has garnered praise from fans and press alike. Metal Digest called it “a filthy record of utter low-frequency brutality”, highlighting tracks like “Black Glitch Six” and “Trophy.” Their recent single “D3D Solz” further demonstrates their innovative sound, solidifying their place as pioneers of a new metal subgenre.

Mixed & Mastered by award-winning producer and engineer Fredrik Nordström, in Gothenburg, Sweden, where mastermind Steffen Kummerer collaborated with him for one week on the live material. The recordings were all made in the USA, Canada, and Mexico between 2022 and 2023 as part of the ‘A Valediction World Tour’. Today, we get a taste with a stunning live video for the track ´The Anticosmic Overload´from the album Cosmogenesis, filmed by Vincent Grundke, who has been accompanying the band as a videographer and photographer since 2021.
Steffen Kummerer comments: “A Celebration I – Live in North America covers a selection of concerts we performed in the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico between 2022 and 2023 as part of the ‘A Valediction World Tour’. Within 20 years, we are looking towards the first live album of Obscura, spiked with songs of our last five releases. It was a pleasure working through every recorded show to pick the best song, the loudest possible audience and a stellar performance by a band that’s on fire. As a first impression, we choose ‘The Anticosmic Overload’ performed in the United States of America, since this was the first song ever we performed in North America back in 2009.”
