• Peter Capaldi portrayed the 12th Doctor on Dr Who. Long before that he had a post-punk band, The Dreamboys. Their 3-song ep from 1980 is at youTube. Craig Ferguson was the drummer in the band, though not on this recording.

• In writer John Higgs’ substack he wrote, "(This year’s) winter solstice marks the end of the first quarter of the twenty-first century. I know! How can that possibly be right?” I agree! It’s stunning that 1/4 of this century is already behind us!!
