East German death metal titans DESERTED FEAR are back and burning hotter than ever with their upcoming sixth full-length, Veins of Fire, arriving April 25, 2025 via Testimony Records. If you thought they’d peaked—you weren’t paying attention. This isn’t a band resting on old bones. This is a band melting the throne to forge a new one.
From the very first track, Veins of Fire erupts with sharpened songwriting, tighter grooves, and a noticeable step forward in vocal dynamics from frontman Manuel “Mahne” Glatter. Their trademark blend of punishing riffage and melodic sensibility is still front and center—but there’s a newfound precision, clarity, and fire that sets this release ablaze.
Thematically, DESERTED FEAR dig deep into the shadows of modern life—confronting disillusionment, division, environmental collapse, and the enduring will to resist. Veins of Fire doesn’t sermonize—it reflects, with an unflinching stare and clenched fists. It’s a mirror held up to a world unraveling, but also a torch for those refusing to be swallowed by the dark.
Recorded and produced by Fabian Hildebrandt at Eisensound Studio, the album is brought to life with stunning cover art by Roberto Toderico and layout by Chris Orosz. It’s bold, blistering, and absolutely essential.
Since their 2012 debut My Empire (produced by Dan Swanö), the band has steadily climbed the ranks with albums like Kingdom of Worms and Doomsday, earning a spot at the top of Germany’s extreme metal scene. Their live pedigree includes over 250 shows across Europe and appearances alongside Obituary, At The Gates, Morbid Angel, and more.
Now, with Veins of Fire and a full-blown tour on the horizon, DESERTED FEAR are sounding more confident, dangerous, and relevant than ever.
