Industrial provocateur Raymond Watts returns with four new PIG songs and four remixes engineered to grind beauty, brutality, and black humor into the same bloodstained machine.
Four New Cuts from the Lord of the Lard 💀
PIG released Dirt Box on September 4 through Metropolis Records, delivering an eight-track companion piece to the May 2026 album Hurt People Hurt. The EP combines four original songs with four remixes, expanding the current era of Raymond Watts’ long-running industrial-rock project without simply repackaging its recent material.
“An American Ideal of Beauty” opens the box with a collision of mechanical aggression and decadent theatricality. The track reunites Watts with Marc Heal of Cubanate and C-Tec, former KMFDM guitarist Günter Schulz, and longtime collaborator Jim Davies, formerly of The Prodigy and Pitchshifter.
The remaining originals—“Your Reptilian Overlord Presents,” “Infidel,” and “Butterfly”—push the release through different shades of menace. PIG’s familiar mixture of distorted electronics, muscular guitars, dark sensuality, and lyrical provocation remains intact, but the compact EP format keeps every attack immediate.
Industrial Machinery Rewired by Four Remixers ⚙️
The second half of Dirt Box hands each original composition to a different artist from the industrial underground. Cyanotic reconstructs “Your Reptilian Overlord Presents,” Stabbing Westward reshapes “An American Ideal of Beauty,” Combichrist takes control of “Butterfly,” and Rabbit Junk drives “Infidel” through its own abrasive circuitry.
These versions give the EP a deliberate mirrored structure: four songs establish the source material, then four remixers dismantle and rebuild it. Instead of behaving like leftover bonus content, the remixes expose different rhythmic, electronic, and guitar-driven possibilities buried inside the originals.
That collaborative approach fits naturally into PIG’s history. Watts has spent decades moving between industrial rock, electronic experimentation, performance art, and gloriously filthy theatrical excess. His résumé stretches through Psychic TV, Einstürzende Neubauten, Foetus, and KMFDM, where he helped shape the band’s early identity and later contributed to landmark material including “Juke Joint Jezebel.”
Released alongside PIG’s extensive Hurt People Tour of North America, Dirt Box captures an artist still treating collaboration as a weapon. It is compact, confrontational, and packed with enough grime to leave fingerprints on the machinery.
