New from Greek synth duo Paradox Obscur is their studio album IKONA, out now on Metropolis Records. This project is the result of a three-year creative journey and follows their critically acclaimed album, Morphogenesis.
IKONA is a blend of old-school methodology and modern sound design. The nine-track album moves beyond the digital realm by using live instrumentation and real-time composition techniques. A standout track, “Like A Freak,” was composed entirely with analog gear, offering a raw, visceral sound that sets it apart from the rest of the album.

IKONA isn’t just a collection of songs; it’s a statement of artistic freedom. Each track has its own identity, coming together to form a conceptual mosaic of electronic expression.
Leading up to the album’s release, the duo dropped three singles:
- “Lose This Feeling” – A synth-oriented cover of the Armin van Buuren dance anthem.
- “Switch To Love” – A compelling retro synthwave soundscape.
- “Vulgar Sequence” – A ’90s-inspired electro-techno track.

Known for their real-time, hardware-only approach, Paradox Obscur creates authentic, analog-driven music without computers or digital plugins. Their unique sound combines haunting melodies, driving rhythms, and a cinematic atmosphere, appealing to a wide range of listeners.
