Arizona’s extreme metal juggernaut SOULFLY is back with fire in their veins, releasing the crushing new single “Nihilist” alongside a visually searing music video. The track, which features Todd Jones of NAILS, is the latest glimpse into the band’s upcoming thirteenth album CHAMA, set to arrive October 24th, 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records.

“Nihilist” embodies everything fans love about Soulfly—tribal grooves, bludgeoning riffs, and unapologetic ferocity—while pushing their legacy forward. Produced by Zyon Cavalera, the song is a generational collaboration that sharpens Soulfly’s sonic blade with modern intensity.

Directed by Costin Chioreanu, the video was filmed in Bulgaria and drenched in apocalyptic imagery that perfectly matches the track’s brutal energy. Watch here.

Max Cavalera explains:

“My lyrics are inspired by LG of Entombed and Nihilist. He left this earth in 2021 and was always a big influence on me. This is one of the heaviest songs on the record, and I love that Todd Jones came in and delivered the hardest line on the record: ‘I don’t believe in anything!’”

Guitarist Mike De Leon adds:

Recorded at Platinum Underground Studio in Mesa, AZ, CHAMA was produced by Zyon Cavalera and Arthur Rizk (who also mixed and mastered the record). The album reunites the Cavalera clan—Max, Zyon, and Igor Amadeus Cavalera (Go Ahead & Die, Nailbomb, Healing Magic)—with guitarist Mike De Leon. Special appearances include Dino Cazares (Fear Factory) and Todd Jones (Nails).

GO AHEAD AND DIE Unveils Music Video for ‘Tumors’ + Announces New Album ‘Unhealthy Mechanisms’ Releasing 10.20.23

Arizona’s death-crusters, GO AHEAD AND DIE, are gearing up to release their blistering sophomore album, “Unhealthy Mechanisms,” on October 20th via Nuclear Blast Records. Crafted from the fervent minds of Igor Amadeus Cavalera (HEALING MAGIC) and Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY), this latest addition to the band’s dystopian discography delves deeply into society’s madness and the mental pollution plaguing our minds.

The album’s first glimpse arrives in the form of the single ‘Tumors.’ This headbanging track serves as a resounding call-out to the toxic elements of life, often likened to “tumors,” which, if left unchecked, can metastasize into a cancerous existence. The accompanying animated video, brilliantly created by Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu, amplifies the song’s powerful message.
