DROIDGLOW returns to NewRetroWave with a darker, heavier second album, bringing commanding synthesizers, gritty electronic production and an expanded lineup of collaborators into the unforgiving world of darksynth.
A Darker, More Brutal Evolution
Some electronic music is designed to transport listeners into a neon-lit fantasy. DROIDGLOW apparently prefers to send them somewhere considerably more dangerous.
With the release of Brutal Hours through NewRetroWave (NRW), the darksynth artist returns for a second full-length assault, building upon the foundations of his debut while pushing the aggression, production dynamics and collaborative ambition considerably further.
The label describes the record as more brutal than its predecessor, with an emphasis on gritty dynamics and commanding synthesizers. It’s a fitting direction for an artist working within a genre where cinematic atmosphere and electronic aggression frequently compete for control.
Rather than treating synthesizers as nostalgic decorations, Brutal Hours places them at the center of its sonic identity. The emphasis is on impact, tension and the kind of imposing electronic textures that have helped darksynth establish its own territory beyond conventional synthwave.

More Collaborators, More Firepower: Eleven Tracks of Cyberpunk Carnage
One of the defining features of Brutal Hours is its expanded lineup of collaborators, pushing DROIDGLOW beyond the foundations established on his October 2025 debut, Neon Inferno. Released October 9, 2026, through NewRetroWave Records, the 11-track album combines aggressive darksynth, industrial textures and cinematic electronic production with an increasingly ambitious creative approach.
Opening with “Legacy of Terror” and “Sins of Devotion,” the record establishes its darker direction before introducing collaborations with House of Serpents, Rafael Jannotti, DreamReaper, New Arcades, Droid Bishop, ALEX, Dav Dralleon, Sarah Orloff and Connör. Highlights include the title track, “Darknet,” “Danse Macabre” and “Neon Nights,” with each contributor bringing a different dimension to DROIDGLOW’s increasingly hostile electronic universe.
Behind the project is Lorenzo Mario Luigi Figini, whose sophomore album represents a significant expansion in both production and creative partnerships. Featuring artwork by Coki Greenway, Brutal Hours moves confidently beyond nostalgic synthwave, embracing a heavier, more aggressive vision of retro-futuristic electronic music.
