Dismantled Returns to the Future with “Zero”
After years of relative silence on the full-length front, Dismantled has returned with “Zero,” the first single from the forthcoming sixth studio album, Endless. Released September 18 through Metropolis Records, the track signals a deliberate reconnection with the sound that established Gary Zon’s project as a distinctive force in electro-industrial music.
Founded by Zon in 2000, Dismantled developed around an intricate collision of layered electro-industrial production, melodic electronics and trance influences. The project quickly drew comparisons to acts including Front Line Assembly, Haujobb and Wumpscut before signing
More than two decades later, “Zero” doesn’t attempt to erase that history. It plugs directly back into it.
Looking Back to Move Forward
“Zero” reconnects Dismantled with the cybernetic atmosphere, melodic electronics and club-driven machinery of the Standard Issue era, but this is more than nostalgia. Gary Zon contrasts the energy of 2006 with the emptiness and disconnection of contemporary society, creating a cyberpunk dancefloor track that simultaneously looks backward and pushes forward.
That philosophy extends into Endless, Dismantled’s long-awaited sixth album, arriving November 20, 2026, through Metropolis Records. Primarily recorded in Oregon and completed in Southern California, Zon describes the twelve-track album as his most cohesive work yet and a rediscovery of the qualities that originally defined Dismantled, complete with deliberate references longtime listeners may recognize from earlier material.
After a catalog spanning Post Nuclear, Standard Issue, When I’m Dead, The War Inside Me and several subsequent EPs, Endless brings Dismantled’s electro-industrial machinery into a world where its once-futuristic themes feel increasingly familiar. With “Zero,” Zon isn’t simply resurrecting the past—he’s switching the machine back on in a world that finally caught up with it.
