A haunting dark ambient descent from the mind behind Dawn of Ashes

🎧 Listen to “Terminal Dusk” – A soundscape where dystopia, isolation, and introspection collide.
🖤 A Soundtrack for the End of Light
Terminal Dusk fuses glacial drones, subterranean frequencies, and distant industrial decay into a landscape that feels frozen in time and teetering on the edge of collapse. Whether you’re scoring a game, film, trailer, or immersive art piece, this track offers:
Evolving unease and emotional weight
Sonic texture ideal for sci-fi, horror, and thriller narratives
A cinematic backdrop that pulses with shadow and stillness
Crafted for modern media creators and sonic aesthetes alike, Terminal Dusk is a meditation on decay, silence, and the weight of the unknown—another step in Bathory’s journey into the void.

The Story Behind So Lonely in Heaven
The Legendary Pink Dots began work on So Lonely in Heaven during the global pandemic, writing collaboratively across continents and cyberspace. The album explores themes of technology, humanity, and isolation in a world increasingly dominated by machines.
Frontman Edward Ka-Spel reflects: “The machine sees everything, hears everything, knows everything… It’s an invitation from Heaven, where anyone can be anything they want to be, but it’s a Nation of One. Michael Plaster, known for his work with the legendary 90s Projekt ethereal act soulwhirlingsomewhere, returns to Projekt with a mesmerizing ambient release under the moniker yttriphie. an extremely slow motion explosion marks Michael’s debut in the ambient genre, merging tranquility and complexity for a uniquely immersive experience.
The album is set to release digitally on January 24, 2025 via Projekt Records and offers a vaporous journey into atmospheric crescendos and dreamlike melodies.
About the Album
Michael describes the album as “mellow and muted,” with long waves of atmospheric crescendos that sometimes fall to near silence while at other times carve clear, intricate paths. Feathery synthesized patches blend seamlessly with crystalline piano, creating a soundscape that is dreamy, isolated, and filled with longing.
Michael reflects: “I want the experience of listening to the music to be like going into a tranquil, flowing river. Muted enough to take you along effortlessly, but complex enough to swallow you in its melodies—like little shrouded stories being slowly woven together.”
The album title explores the concept of entropy and the idea that everything in existence is an explosion of energy trying to dissipate, from the Big Bang to the smallest particles in our bodies.
The Adelaidean invites you on a sonic exploration with “Going Home the Long Way Around.” This ambient masterpiece, available as a Name-Your-Price download on Bandcamp, is a collection drawn from seven of The Adelaidean’s nine Projekt albums. To enrich the musical journey, two non-Projekt tracks are added, broadening the spectrum of this ambient experience.
The music delves into the still places of the living mind, capturing the ebbs and flows of mood, thought, and memory that weave the tapestry of human experience. The layered quality of the music is enhanced by archival textures, including avant-garde experiments from the artist’s teenage years in the 1980s and recordings by jazz pianist father-in-law Ted Nettelbeck. Collaborations with artists like Sam Rosenthal, Deepspace (Mirko Ruckels), and stepson Xander Monteath contribute to the rich, multi-dimensional nature of the compositions, complemented by the evocative cover art of Thom Buchanan.
Critics describe the work as “stark, extreme, and beautiful,” offering a “unique sonic experience.” Mark Frauenfelder of Boing Boing finds it a “blessed escape hatch to a distant present,” and Dave Aftandilian on Bandcamp likens the journey to “floating in the midst of eternity, gentle currents carrying me toward an unseen destination.”
The tracklist features remastered classics and collaborations, including the mesmerizing “Going Home the Long Way Around” with Xander Monteath, the atmospheric “Under the Bright Cuernavaca Sky” with Sam Rosenthal, and the ethereal “I Spelled My Name but the Wind Forgot” with Deepspace.
