THE HALO EFFECT – WE ARE SHADOWS 💀

Swedish melodic death metal juggernaut THE HALO EFFECT returns November 21, 2025, with their brand-new EP We Are Shadows, out via Nuclear Blast Records. This release delivers a bold and personal reflection of the band’s roots, with each member handpicking one song to cover—offering a unique window into the influences that shaped their sound.

A Tribute to Their Influences ⚙️

After the massive success of their sophomore album March of the Unheard—which stormed the charts (#4 in Germany and Austria, in Sweden)—THE HALO EFFECT keeps their momentum blazing. With We Are Shadows, they reimagine classics across rock and metal history, channeling them through the signature “Gothenburg Sound” that defines their legacy.

Each track is a personal homage:

  • “How The Gods Kill” (Danzig cover) – “During my teenage years the darkness and allure of early Danzig albums introduced me to a whole new way of thinking about what rock and metal could be.” — Mikael Stanne
  • “If You Were Here” (Kent cover) – “Kent’s mix of pop rock and synth deeply moved me; we wanted to honor their soul while creating something new.” — Peter Iwers

Following a few teaser singles, We Are Shadows arrives November 21, 2025, in both digital and limited-edition vinyl formats.

To close out the year, THE HALO EFFECT will return to Japan, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Finland, before joining Heaven Shall Burn on their “Heimat Over Europe Tour” alongside The Black Dahlia Murder and Frozen Soul in early 2026.
