RETROGEEK is questioning the operating system with Reality Check, a new release through Timewarp Records that pairs the classic Goa spirit with a futuristic psychedelic edge. Driving basslines, hypnotic sequences and retro-futuristic sound design form the core of the announcement’s invitation: disconnect from autopilot and reconnect with the dancefloor. Reality already has enough bugs; a better soundtrack seems reasonable.

Deep atmosphere and powerful rhythmic momentum sit at the center of that proposition, bringing together the immersive appeal of Goa trance and the physical energy of contemporary psytrance. The emphasis is on movement with a wandering mind: basslines provide the traction while psychedelic electronics point toward stranger territory. For listeners drawn to electronic music that keeps one foot in its underground roots and the other hovering somewhere above the planet, Reality Check offers a compelling destination.

Reality Check positions RETROGEEK at the intersection of classic Goa inspiration and futuristic psychedelic production, with driving basslines providing the foundation for hypnotic sequences, deep atmosphere and dancefloor energy. The combination speaks to the enduring appeal of Goa: music that gives the body something immediate to follow while inviting the imagination to take the scenic route. Retro-futuristic sound design reinforces that connection between past and possibility, framing the release around a psychedelic tradition that still has plenty of unexplored territory. For anyone whose daily routine could use fewer notifications and more interdimensional interference, RETROGEEK’s invitation is straightforward: turn up the volume, interrupt the loop and give reality something else to process.
