Last week marks my 5 year anniversary of living in Austria. It’s hard to believe that it’s been half a decade since we packed our bags (and our cat) and moved across the Atlantic. As much as I love it here, I can’t deny that it’s been difficult at times, and lately I find myself feeling deeply homesick. Good thing we’ve got a slew of US shows coming up this year and next so I can get my fill of Mac n’ Cheese, Wal-Mart and air conditioning. Of course, I am elated to be returning to Canada and Mexico as well. Dates and tickets below.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that after months of blood, sweat and tears, that the 2024 reissue of our seminal 2008 album A Violent Emotion is finally here. Most importantly, it’s available for the first time on vinyl. Special thanks to all my supporters over on Patreon for making this possible, this reissue wouldn’t exist without you.

For the first time in two years, Aesthetic Perfection will be performing in North America. After our disastrous 2022 endeavor, I feared I may never again have the opportunity to tour on my home soil. However, after being invited to support Till Lindemann on his arena tour, I decided to book a handful of intimate side gigs to test the waters. | Summer Goth (Summer of ’24 Version) |

Recently, I’ve become fascinated with the concept of re-imagining and re-releasing previous music. The older I get, the less precious I become with the art I create, and the more open I become to the idea that a single composition can inhabit many forms. That’s why I decided to not just remix a previous work, instead opting to completely re-record it from an entirely new perspective. In a sense, this version of “Summer Goth” is a cover of last year’s edition. Instead of blending Top 40 pop with Norwegian Black Metal, I’ve opted to lean heavily on my dark music roots, and create something inspired by post-punk and 80’s dance. After countless hours of planning and work, the reissue of 2008’s A Violent Emotion is finally here.
